Career Can 'The Rangers' topple Celtic?

Welcome to the Old Firm.

 

Many of you guys will know that Scotland has always been a 2 horse race, that was of course until Rangers Football Club was liquidated and sent to start again at the foot of the Scottish professional leagues.

 

7 years later and hope has been installed back into 'The Rangers' hearts, many believe that this year may finally be their year to stop Celtic's domination and with a certain Steven Gerrard at the helm is it looking a possibility. A string of signings from the Scouser creating a core of the squad which include Brighton pairing Connor Goldson and Jamie Murphy, Burnley's Scott Arfield and Hull's Allan McGregor gives them a spine to push towards the goal.

 

My aim in this 1 season save is to topple Celtic and return 'The Rangers' to the top of the Scottish Premiership and end Celtic's hopes of winning 10 back to back league titles. We have the luxury of having the second biggest budget in Scotland plus the ability to ship off the players no longer in my plans to create more income for transfers which of course will determine whether we can challenge or not.

 

My first update will come at the end of December. Hope you guys enjoy the short save.

WIth the January transfer window opening I thought I’d pop a wee update in at the half way mark, overall I’d say I’m happy with the season so far (especially Europe).

In a group with Ajax, Basel and Bordeaux I expected to be binned out in the group stages but the boys made me proud tipping the group and going unbeaten the entire home campaign. The league not so good, to many silly defeats have cost us to slip up in the race for the title.

The transfers is the part we all love about FM and I made the most of it spending a whopping £17m on what I must add as great signings (apart from Charlie Adam, he’s hopeless)

So ultimately we’re still well and truly in the title race and on course to end the streak that’s seen Celtic run away with 7 straight league titles.

End of the season review!

Unfortunately it wasn’t to be for us as we finish comfortably behind Celtic😢. They just wouldn’t lose a game

I thought we had a great chance with the business we done but unfortunately injuries hit us hard and depleted the squad massively.

Europe was a massive success as we were the last Scottish side flying the flag but losing out to Chelsea which was always going to be a tough ask. (Btw my 2 centre half’s got sent off and I had no replacements on the bench)

We did win some silverware as least. Beating Aberdeen in the Scottish cup final 2-1

 

Key Player for us was Jordan Jones.

The guy played out wide right as an IF and was immense the entire season, if I was continuing then I’m sure I would’ve build my team around him.

 

 

Really annoyed we didn’t put up a decent fight in the league but just goes to show that Celtic are a different animal and are still way ahead of Rangers.

If you guys want me to continue to see how long it would take for me to beat Celtic then please let me know in the comments below.

Just rotten luck with injuries I’m afraid, I plan to try again next season I think with a few fresh faces I will be able to mount a serious challenge next season mate.

I just did a similar thing with Aberdeen (couldn't bring myself to manage Rangers!)

Just unlocked sugar daddy and world class reputation in this save! Have maxed out training and youth facilities and have stadium up to around 45k! Getting some cracking youth players through and selling players for £25m+ each!

That’s such a fantastic achievement mate, tbh I didn’t want to manage them but I thought it was the best chance I had, wasn’t to be though.

It's a back four, with a rwb, 3 cm, all with different roles, a LW, no RM and 2 strikers, 1 poacher and 1 AF! 

I have to post up pics of my tactics when I get a chance, worked for me since fmm 17 and with right players in right positions it's pretty dominant! Took Oldham and Forest Green to EPL starting unemployed, League, cup and champs League in first season at Inter! Latest career won League and cup in first season at Real, lost champs League final after Ramos was sent off! Seems to work for any team
