Help Meaning of red icon on squad screen

Hi all, 

New to FMM19 and wondered if someone could tell me what the red block and minus sign means beside some of my players? I've only taken over a club so I'm guessing they're not registered or something ?

Rosales and Muñoz are examples.

They are out on loan and other clubs.

If you click the view button you can hit the option to make ineligible players not show up if you don’t want to see them.

Also happens when your loanee go against their parent club and international duty also if I wasn’t mistaken
