Challenges Winning the quadruple with Man U in first season with McFred

This challenge came to mind after watching the iconic duo MCFred against Brighton. It doesn't matter what formation you use as far MCfred starts in the midfield and they have to play in almost every league game as far as they are not gassed. You can bring in as many transfers you want but McFred as to be your starting midfield option and you have to win the quadruple.

   To make it insanely hard for yourself if you want to, don't make any transfers and use the united team like that, your choice. That's it

Looking at this, I don't think this is possible 💀

It’s definitely doable to win the league first season with McFred - even with no signings.

But winning all the cups is incredibly hard - you can’t lose a single knockout game (or at least, not over two legs).

Yeah cause you'll still meet Liverpool down the line at one point and you'll be knocked out by them. This challenge isn't feasible

It's impossible unless you can get the very best talents in the game so that mcfred will be the only weak link in your squad

Do you really think it is IMPOSSIBLE ? 

Strikers: if you are going to try this, do you think they need a new ST? If yes, then who?!

• Someone with high (+17) pace + finishing => like Osimhen for up to his release clause of ~£86m
   
• or (if you can get them) either Leroy Sane for £100-150m or wonderkid Haaland for high £££’s (you’d probably need to sell someone like Pogba to afford Haaland - right?)
   
• or someone cheaper + older => like the Colombian 30 year olds Zapata or Muriel (both with 16 pace + 19-20 finishing) for between £30-40m.

If you had to prioritize key positions, who do YOU think they need to buy? 🙂

Good wingbacks first of all, get rid of Maguire. That's all I can think of

I'd prioritize the defense

Interesting. Typically with Man Utd’s current squad (no signings!) - we won’t concede many goals. Perhaps this is because I play a little more defensively than most 🤔

But with sir Harold Maguire in there and varane who is probe to injury 

I'd rather sign better players or better yet 

Go for swap deals🤷

Here’s some evidence suggesting that is not impossible (but agree it is difficult!)

My first full season on FMM22 - won the league with Man Utd, no signings in/out:

• had McTominay as a first choice MC (43 games, 28 in the league)
• and Fred as a sub/second team MC (played 31 games, 20 in the league)
• no corner tactic used - as shown by my DC only scoring 5 goals all season - while my pacey attackers scored all our goals.

Won the league with 95 points.

No transfers in nor out (excluding some loans out)

McTominay & Fred’s appearances:

Plus where our goals came from - proof of not using the corner tactic

Admittedly, it wasn’t McFred starting every game. AND we got knocked out of the FA Cup + ECL semi-finals (so no quadruple). So doesn’t exactly meet the challenge.

But it does suggest that it’s possible. Difficult, but possible.
