A fun one-season career - with Messi’s move to Miami confirmed, just how amazing will he be in the MLS?!

I used the ‘real names fix’ with an extra row to move Messi - so now he is Miami’s star player.  
 

The Worst Attack

This season in real life, Miami had the worst attack in the league.

Now with Messi (and no other transfers / loans / frees) … can we do better?!
 

The Tactic
I’ve gone for a fairly attacking 4231 (actually a 4213) - with Messi as a Treq. free role behind three attackers.

Other key players are central ST Martinez (lots of 14 attributes 👍) and solid defensive midfielder Gregore. 
 

The Question
In real life - Miami are bottom of the table.

Early Season
He is doing well - considering this was the league’s worst attack. THREE hat-tricks in 3 home league games.

 
Messi
9 goals. 3 assists. 6 games. 

“Not bad lad. But can you do better?!”

We are off to a good start. 

Though AWAY games are much harder ⚠️ Messi has not yet scored in them - and I’ve chosen to ‘park the bus’ a few times to defend a narrow lead.

League
Easy. A 15 point lead meant we won both the ‘Eastern’ league + the combined ‘Supporters Shield’

Our home form was dominant:

But our away form had a lot more draws and one-goal narrow wins.

We’d often ‘park the bus’ in this 460 formation for the last 10-30 minutes of an away match.

Playoffs
In the MLS - the league’s top teams enter a playoff.

Firstly the Eastern Conference playoff …

… but then I was surprised to see the MLS Cup playoff (the winners of East vs West)

In a fitting storyline - Messi scored the only goal in our last game together to win the trophy 🏆 

Just like in the league - in all three playoff games, I’d ‘park the bus’ in the middle of the 2nd half, often subbing off Messi to keep him fit for the next match.

 
Messi
After 12 goals/assists in his first 6 league games (2 per game 🔥🔥) - Messi’s output really declined.

That’s 30 goals/assists in the final 29 games (1 per game 🔥) - his attributes really started to decline …

… while the rest of the team’s attributes improved. They did well.

 
Overall
Expect Messi to be incredible in the MLS next season - but also accept he will decline.

Here he ONLY scored 22 goals with 20 assists …

… can YOU do better?!

Got to feel for Phil Neville a little (not that much to be honest, but a little..). Sacked and then they sign Messi. 😁

It’s sad when the red arrows come at the end of the career. Still, he did well for you! Almost the best player with 7.71.

Good season @DanEnglish for an aging player, he will surprise a lot of the American's, but he will become a forgotten man just like Ronaldo playing over there, a sad ned, but an expected one as he has won it all, include the Worlds best again this year for his World cup antics.

Let's see if anybody can get more out of him, are you making it a challenge, or just leaving it out there for others to try it.
