I think I’ve bought Meli on just about every save I’ve started since I first found him on FMH2015 and am unsurprised to see I’m not the only one who appreciates his tireless efforts at BBM.

 

In most cases I’ll sell off the entire original team before I sell someone I’ve bought in myself, however, Meli is the one exception to the rule. I’m always looking to ‘upgrade’ him, but is it worth it? I tend to try and by Vidal if I can get him, I find even into his early-to-mid-30s (when you can get for a couple of mil) he can make the difference between a competitive team and European champs. Apart from Vidal though, I haven’t really found a much better BBM specialist, does anyone know of any?

Agreed Pogba is a class above but he's always categorized as either a DLM or APM in my experience.

Stats man, it's all about the stats. Don't worry what the favoured role says. If the player has the right stats to play in that position then do it. 

Julian Brandt is a winger. Well me playing him up top as a support striker got him nearly 500 goals and 500 assists for me so I'm going to ignore what the role says.

I have read that a few times on here and it doesn't sit quite right with me.

If I use John Stones as an example, his stats are pretty much green across the board except for shooting and leadership. So could I play him as at CM for example, regardless of the fact his positioning there is ineffectual?

No but you could play him as a limited defender, central defender or ball playing defender. Any role in that position  

Pogba has the attributes to play any midfield role in the CM position. It's all within reason so you wouldn't play Pogba as a left back as an example.

Krychowiak (Sevilla), Jordon Henderson and Emre Can (Liverpool) all make very good BBMs. Having said that, its hard to go past Meli in terms of bang for your buck - great value
