Chapman - 20 (503 total)

101 goals to the total takes us to 1501 goals!!!

I will do a full review at the end of the season and i intend to carry on until 2032 when Chuba is retiring to see what total i can reach.

Season 12

Results

Won the annual curtain raiser.

Nice win in the Super Cup.

Even with Chuba sent off won the Club World Cup.

KNVB Cup secured.

Knocked out the group stages of Champions League which was disappointing, but recovered to win Europa League in ET.

Transfer acumen only 10 when i have sold nearly double the amount i have bought.

The Main Event

Went past the 1500 mark in February but then went on to have our best season yet with Che hitting a season high out of the three strikers.

Chuba - 44 (468 total)

Che - 69 (562 total)

Chapman - 30 (513 total)

143 goals in the season was a season best for us and takes us to 1543 goals in total. I have 3 years until Chuba retires so i am going to see where i can get to. No chance of 2000 goals but hopefully somewhere between 1800 and 1900.

Season 13

Briefer update now challenge complete.

Clean sweep this season but less goals.

The Key Men

Still in very good shape really, Chuba retiring in two seasons and i can't get him to sign for any longer.

As i said, less goals this season for a variety of reasons even though the season was one of my most successful results-wise.

Chuba - 44 (512 total)

Che - 49 (611 total)

Chapman - 26 (539 total)

Dip in goals to 119 for the season takes the total to 1662.

Few injuries creeping in and occasional loss of form but i really want to get to 1900 if possible, and on a side note if i can get each of them to 300 assists i'll be pleased.

Full house!

Chapman - 31 (570 total)

More luck with injuries this season resulted in 127 goals and takes the total to 1789.

Great season for Chuba but now entering the last year before he retires and i can't persuade him yet to sign again. Will keep trying.

Season 15

Good season but out of KNVB Cup and Champions League at Semi Final stage, despite being 2-0 up in first leg against Juve, and 2-0 and 3-1 up in the KNVB Cup.

Chuba Akpom

Still very good stats for a 36 year old but despite my best efforts he won't sign for another year. One of my regrets is not leaving him in a central role throughout the challenge, i've learnt a lot from this challenge and if i tried with him again he would be the focal point of my attack, when central he was either a CF or target man. Sadly no England or Nigeria cap either, although that helped him get rest at the right time. He finished with 609 goals and 323 assists in his 15 seasons.

Che Adams

The most talented of the three i would say, had a good England career and stats still impressive. He is retiring next summer. He was on set pieces and picked up a lot of goals from there, played on the left hand side of central striker, mainly as a poacher, sometimes AF. He finished with 688 goals and 272 assists in his 15 seasons.

Harry Chapman

Great return seeing as he isn't a natural striker and i couldn't re-train him as one. More creative however when i played him as a central CF he returned some great numbers and that's why Chuba was shoved out to the right hand side. The last few seasons i swapped them over again and that's why his goals dried up a bit. No matter what role i tried for that right hand striker he couldn't hit the same numbers as the other two. Just started to get in the England squad, his contract expires next summer but he currently won't sign another. He finished with 601 goals and 304 assists in his 15 seasons.

So unless something dramatic happens and Chuba signs another deal i finish on a total of 1898 goals.

@danovic78can you please add this to the leader board? Also if i play one more season with just Che and Chapman can i submit their score for DT challenge? Many thanks.

Can you also please add Adams and Chapman to the DT leader board? They finished on a combined 1362 goals and 601 assists between them (Adams 732 goals and 285 assists, Chapman 630 goals and 316 assists). That's me completely finished now, Adams has retired and Chapman wouldn't sign a new deal and left on a free. 

Not a great final season, Chapman suffered with injuries and i struggled to get a potent two-striker formation going.

Thanks mate. I was surprised how quickly i got through it really, once you get hooked on it i just played at every single opportunity. Good luck if you try the 1k challenge!

Tactics changed a fair bit during the career but i usually stuck to a version of this......

However, depending on opponent and in-game i would move the wing backs up to a natural wing back position, or even sometimes up to a midfield slot if i thought I could expose teams (usually if they were down to ten men or an easy cup game). I tweaked roles up front quite a bit and sometimes changed the CF to target man when Chuba was central. I tried AF but i always found poacher to be better. Early crosses is important as lots of goals came from wing backs putting the ball in and usually the central striker finishing it. Shoot on sight i took off for a while as my AM was scoring a bit too much but i also noticed a decline in my forwards goals so i switched it back on. I also had my AP as a DLP early in the career and the BBM as a CM but switched them numerous times and settled on AP/BBM. I kept overload mentality on throughout the 90 minutes, even though it did result in some late goals conceded, if you were playing to win rather than score goals i would change the mentality mid second half but for this challenge you just want goals so it was attack constantly. I tended to keep GK distribution short if my WB's were in full back slot (contrary to the above) and long the further up the pitch they were. Theory really is to get the ball up the pitch as quickly as possible.

I also tried 3-4-3 formations at various points but couldn't get anything to be as effective as i wanted and always reverted back to a variant of the above. Hope this helps!
