Tactics Which 4231 counterattack?

I have more experience using this one.

but I've seen other people have success with wingers instead of inside forwards.

also would direct passing work with a target man or should I use long passes instead?

Personally I prefer long to direct because when I play direct the players just tend to play the ball out. Having said that I've not tried direct with a TM it makes sense and could work

So while trying out the second formation my target man finally started scoring goals but we still scored more with the inside forwards so I combined the two and moved the amc to cm spot to get him to pass more.

My striker has scored 11 goals in 18 games. Way better than the 17 in 59 games last season. We also have the best defense so far and the 4th best offense.

I think it depend on your opponent tactic mate. If they are having "pressure" n no DM position. Your winger will be very effective. But try it with advanced forward if you play direct ball like that

So after posting that last tactic I was in 1st in the premier league until I lost the last 8 games of the season and the season after that I struggled to score anything and then now I switched the roles around after reading about Jose Mourinho's 4231 with Real Madrid.

Instantly started scoring goals with every attacker and my team is actually keeping the ball at the other side of the field now instead of it being at our side for most of the game.

Try my tactic. If your opponent making defensive Or balance style. Push up 2DM to CM(DLP-BBM).

Mentality:attacking-Pass:mixed-Focus:mixed-Gk:mixed-pressure off-counter attack:off

Try winger with stronger foot inside like inside forward. Winger with this condition will try cut inside too. But still giving dangerous pass for your CF. Dont play with WB. FB is better choice for this tactic

After switching to the tactic 5 games, this was the result: 

Only lost the FA Cup because of a red card against Chelsea and losing on penalties. This is probably the best I've done in FMM in a while.
