Career Unluckiest player of the month - My FMM Doncaster Save

Unluckiest player of the month: NANY DIMATA

 

 

Reason:

 

3 missed penalties in a single match ( he scored on shootout though )

 

A little history:

 

I bought him when he was 21-22 for 3.5 milion pounds from  Oostende:

 

 

Then after 2 successful seasons at Doncaster I saw that he had " Big club release clause " 

And also saw that Man City was interested on him.

So what did I do?

 

I kept offering him to teams for over 100.000.000 $

Then City came in and bought him:

 

 

But as you can see he only played 7 games for them. I thought that if I try to bring him back he would start performing well again, so I made him a 33.5 mln offer and got accepted immediately.

Did you have a sell on clause attached to his transfer to Man City, as you would have also got the Sell On Clause %age back.

I have had that happen in my saves before, but not to that extreme

When I bought him from Oostende, i offered him a contract where he had a "Big Club Release Clause" but when city came in I dont remember any sell on clause %

Ha, a hat trick of penalty misses! That is bad luck. I remember Martin Palermo (FM legend) did the same thing in an actual match for Boca Juniors back in the day.

I think the Leeds keeper might be even more unlucky though - 3 saved penalties in normal time, 13 saves overall, including 6 big chances, AND a penalty save in the shoot out, and still his team got knocked out...

What you should do in future transfers is attach a sell on clause, I would certainly advise doing it for youngsters you develop, and if you buy the player back, you will also get the sell on clause % back.

In my saves I will always try and whack on a 25% Sell on Clause, though clubs will mostly agree on 20%

The Martin Palermo one was for Argentina in 1999 in the Copa America in a 3-0 defeat to Colombia

Ohh you mean that? I was thinking for sth else. I think it was 25%. He was transfer listed for around 45mln but got him for 33mln

Yeah i don't know how he did it though, it was a very dominating match but still managed to keep a clean sheet.

I believe Martin Palermo holds the world record for multiple penalty misses in a match...

Not a Record he can be proud of thats for sure

At £33m you would have got £8.25m back on a 25% Sell-Clause...Which means you would in effect have got him £24,750,000
