Chat What to train player as?

Seeing as FMM 20 is relatively close to being released, I thought I'd have a go at starting a 1kc with Mason Greenwood on 19.

Everywhere I've gone I've seen: train aerial, train aerial, train aerial.

I've trained Greenwood to 20 aerial, and was wondering: what should I train now?

Stamina? Shooting?

Stamina, so he can play more games, shooting to score more goals?

I usually keep it simple and just train the weakest of the primary attributes, such as Shooting, Decisions, Movement, Pace, Creativity, Aerial for forwards, if he's a TM add Strength to that. I only train Stamina if it's kinda low, say 12 or lower.

Ah okay, Greenwood's at 9 so definitely going to do that.

Should I use TM, or change to a P or CF - currently on AF

I've played him as P and AF and did well on both ocassions. So I'd pick one of those two.

I mostly start with TM to train their aerial then when it's maxed out I'll train them as Trequartista but plays them as a Poacher

I always play them as AF. I train them as TM and Aerial until they hit 20, then switch to AF and focus on Stamina to about 15 to keep them on the pitch most of the time. Then I focus on Movement (so they get free for crosses/passes), then Pace, then Shooting (less important this year at least for how I play), then Decisions, then Strength.

But I don't follow that strictly. If one of those values is really low, I might focus on that first until they are a bit better. If they don't improve in the one I'me focusing on, I might switch to something else for a while and come back later.

That happens especially with Movement for me: it seems it won't develop all the way to 20 too early (unlike Aerial). I've often got it to say 17 and then it is stuck there until later, so there is no point focusing on that at the moment. I'm not sure why that happens. Maybe it's just me. Maybe it's because I got them to Aerial 20 first and it decides what 'shape' the player will be. Maybe it just spreads out the attributes (apart from Aerial) so you can't get to 20 too quickly... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’ll have a go at these, thanks for replying
