Got to take the rough with the smooth.

Massive win against Norwich straight on to an agonising defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup semi.

Don't think I've ever had an easier ride to a semi before. Every team I drew were league 1 or below. 

Had the mighty Cambridge City in the quarters. Took me to extra time 😅

Season 5 - championship- Complete

We've only gone and done it again!!!

Straight promotions all the way to the Premiership!!!

The boys have been fantastic again this year.

Great development from some.

Got players on the bench pushing yo be starters now. A great problem to have.

 

Now the challenege really starts.

Cement our position in the league then push for top 4.

After that it's the luck of the draw.

 

Also got head hunted for the Scotland job. Guess it will give me International experience until the England job rolls round and I can promote my entire team to internationals.

Season 6 - Premiership - Mid season report

 

So a Bit of a mixed bag this season.

Think we are slightly out of our depth!!!

Far too many draws, even if we had turned half of them into wins we would be top half.

I've been tinkering with my tactic quite a bit.

Still get the same formation as it is pretty much dictated by the players I have available.

Roles have changed a bit but not really seeing much improvement.

 

Need to have a think about the set up a bit more going into the 2nd half of the season.

 

On courses for survival, thats the main thing this year!

Great progress getting into the EPL. I think midtable is perfectly fine on your debut season. Can't blame the boys. You might need a handful seasons to rebuild the squad before being true title challengers. No hurry tho, time's on your side 👍

Season 6 - Premiership - Complete

Over achieved this season i think.

A superb run in sees us finish 11th.

Mid table. Would have taken survival but this was brilliant. 

Far too many draws but not as many losses as expected.

Changed up tactic mid season which seems to have leveled the boat after a rocking run of results.

 

Season 7 aims will be cementing a top 10 place and hopefully turning some of those draws into wins.

The lads are developing nicely. Got a couple more young boys through this season who broke into the senior squad and a few out on loan.

Internationally we made it to the Europe's with Germany, Sweden and Denmark in our group. Be happy just to get out of there but you never know

Season 7 - 2nd Year in Premiership

 

Missed my usual half season update by a couple of days.

But things are looking pretty good.

We are in the mix for a top half finish.

Just lost to Leeds away in my last match which has cost us a bit of ground on the European spots.

But in reality I dont think we have the squad depth right now to compete in Europe and Domestically.

Hopefully we can kick on and finish 6-10th, I'd settle of Europa or Conference but be happy just to have top 10.

Will report back at end of season.

Season 7 - 2nd Year In Premiership - Complete

2nd season complete and we've snuck into the European places.

Fantastic run in saw us go unbeaten in our last 5 games, including a very important away draw to Chelsea.

 

Pretty inconsistent form this season,

We'll go on a run of wins then go on a run of draws / defeats.

Small margins between them in a few games.

Strangely this season we scored less goals but thankfully we conceded less too.

Still conceding far too many but to be expected with only 1 at the back and a pretty poor right back (will I ever get a right back from the youth set up?????).

13 point improvement on last season which is massive for a team of young players.

The lads continue to blossom, now have 2 full England Internationals, in my opinion we should have more but given their ages there's still plenty of time for them.

Anyway, onto Season 8 and European football.

 

Fantastic end to the Season for the Neutrals as 3 teams tie on 75 points. 

A Luis Sinisterra goal late in the 2nd half against us for Spurs was enough for them to clinch the title.

Quick update.

Sooooooooooooo turns out that 7th is not good enough for a European spot.

However the board are expecting cup success this year so we will be in Europe next season 🙄

What a year that was!!

Did terrible in the cups but fantastic in the league.

If there was a few more games we could have taken the league title.

Superb run in after tinkering with my tactics a bit.

That Villa game at the end of the season killed all hope but hey, we are still over achieving in my books.

 

Definitely in Europe next season, so hopefully that'll keep the board of my back.

early update but we are flying so far this season. Could be a very good year if we can keep this up.

Obviously lack of depth might cost us in the end but enjoying the ride so far. This team just doesn't know when it's beat.

Can we be one season wonders?

The ties have been very good to us.

That and catching an aging city team off guard has managed to get us all the way to the final (undefeated) in our very 1st season.

Season 10 - Heartbreak 💔

 

So near yet so far. 

What could have been!?!?

 

Although we received a phantom goal, not sure why it wasn't awarded to anyone 🤔 🤷‍♂️ we played well and probably deserved the win but we crash out in the harshest of ways.

I know the feeling all too well.

I was lucky enough to get 2 highly rated strikers with my 1st youth intake so immediately tied them down to 3 year contracts and then again to 5 as soon as they were old enough.

Pretty sure one has wanted to leave since!!!

Just keeps signing on for more money though, mercenary!!

It is the only time I've played down at this level in this version of FM so yes it's my highest.

Top of the leader board. Surely someone can beat that???

Season 9 - Completed 

Tough one to take as we lose the champions league final on pens.

 

2nd place in the league is an improvement. 

Hopefully next year we can win it and the complete the challenge. 

 

Not been as hard as I expected as we went the entire season in Europe undefeated until losing out on penalties in the final.

If we can improve slightly in a few more areas we definitely have it in the bag.

 

Not bothering with screenshots of every player this year as they are getting older and only marginally improving.

Season 11

Completed it mate.

What a ride.

Only took my 11 seasons but probably the most effort I've ever put into a save.

From the depth of the vanarama north to Europe domination.

Not one single player signed.

An entire team made up from youth product.

Good to see Fleming score in the final too, he's been with me since the very first season.

 

What to do next is the big question.

Some achievement 👍👍 it'll be very hard to match these results with a lowest tier team in 10 seasons or less. This journey and experience is one to savour for quite some time, so congrats!!
