Fantastic job Taff. Can't wait to see Wrexham in the Premier league. Also are Cardiff and Swansea in the premier league. If they are you have just set a new record for most Welsh teams in the premier league.

Rise of the Dragons

Season 5

So Wrexham in the Premiership, can't believe we've made it to the big leagues but can we stay here

Firstly I finally got the message I've been waiting for from the board

IMG_7090.thumb.PNG.2edf12ab77ddecd4403c8

So I thought I'll be cheeky and ask to improve both the Training facilities and the ground capacity but will they grant me both

IMG_7091.thumb.PNG.7123c14ef9575d2ec8ad6IMG_7092.thumb.PNG.aa974633769bf2bc4557c

Yes they did (still only got 19000 capacity but its better)

This season also showed how far I've come as a manger as I had a few job offers this year

IMG_7096.thumb.PNG.38a65813d256e9001afcfIMG_7097.thumb.PNG.212971c7608b7620c0132IMG_7098.thumb.PNG.0c381736b6ad3d27b942d

Plus another 6 throughout the season (almost killed me to turn down the Athletic job) but I'm staying true to my boys

Now onto the teams first season in the top flight

Transfers

So we had a good budget to work with this year (£5M) but with a little creative book keeping i manged to alter the wage budget to give myself £10M to play with, so the first thing I did was bring in the guy who helped us achieve promotion from the Championship Julien Ngoy from Stoke, then Jaime Farrer who is a good young RB who I've been chasing for the last two seasons, manages to grab da Silva (LB) on a free then Bowen (TM), Navarro (LW) and Da Silva (CD) on loan, although only Navarro saw the season out due to budget restrictions and Injuries

IMG_7103.thumb.PNG.699efc1ad5910831c7585

The only player i could sell this year was Jeffery (who spent more time injured than fit), the rest were unwanted players from the previous season

IMG_7104.thumb.PNG.5a9abcdf1f3533bb5bf45

League

Now onto our league campaign and after a up and down first half of the season ranging between 16th and 10th we come together and make a good strong comeback in the second half of the season and manage to finish.....

IMG_7101.thumb.PNG.097ab2c70138ed5a24b5b

In a very respectable 4th place, @AndersJ you called it Wrexham are heading to Europe next season we also end the season as the only remaining Welsh team with both Cardiff and Swansea relegated to the Championship

IMG_7102.thumb.PNG.d2cb12829cb7e66c53e1d

Cups

Again no cup news to report really crashed out to Arsenal in the fourth round of the Capital one Cup

IMG_7115.thumb.PNG.45eccd4a16b0a0957513f

and lost on penalties to Stoke in the FA Cup 5th round replay

IMG_7116.thumb.PNG.ec71533a52cbc3ab2269c

Fixtures

Here's our fixture list and as you can see we were up and down for the first half of the season but then started getting the results and went on a good run, beating Man U, Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea

IMG_7105.thumb.PNG.d280a63c4469c8a9eff14IMG_7106.thumb.PNG.30bfec6d8b6d848f29950IMG_7107.thumb.PNG.65afa5a06e172fd85fb0eIMG_7108.thumb.PNG.cf36671848aac7f6d3365IMG_7109.thumb.PNG.5ddcd17812792221f4b10IMG_7110.thumb.PNG.bb66dc2162569ea847dfa

Here's two of my favourite results from the season

IMG_7099.thumb.PNG.33b61e0598b8f1dc42e49IMG_7100.thumb.PNG.bdb39b8f3d4b833fe2603

Not bad for the little Welsh boys

Player Stats

Here's how the team got on this year

IMG_7111.thumb.PNG.f4397c4a750ea96854427IMG_7112.thumb.PNG.8e89ecfdf8111e5037242

Ngoy proving his worth topping both tables with 31 goals and 11 assists

Season Awards

We also have a few awards with Ngoy claiming the 2nd spot in the POTY and I grab my 4th consecutive MOTY award

IMG_7113.thumb.PNG.c49eb7395d49b4766b856IMG_7114.thumb.PNG.ce9d0c80750e29e34d1bc

So onto a new season and the promise of European football gives us another boost for our little club

Thanks for following and stay tuned

Nice job mate. Have you found when being promoted from the championship to the premier league it seems easy to stay up.I have led AFC Wimbledon and Bradford City to the premier league and have led them to Europe both times. Great transfers too. Also I noticed that both Cardiff and Swansea got relegated which means that you are now the only welsh team in the premier league.

It wasn't looking good the first half of the season but when they got on form they rocked it, plus we're now the highest ranked Welsh team so rock on

Rise of the Dragons

Season 6

So a very good first season in the Premiership last year, can we improve and how will our first season in Europe go? (bare with me again as there are a lot of images to go into this post)

Transfers

OK bare with me guys this gets a bit much but it will become clear

So my main aim this year was to improve my GK and my defence so with that in mind I planned to spend all my transfer budget in these areas

IMG_7141.thumb.PNG.e368ccd9d831fb067351dIMG_7142.thumb.PNG.6e364fae014ae492cf645

We bring in Dragowski  as my new starting GK after parting with £7M but he's a very good young GK and I know comes highly recommended on the site, then I chose to grab a new CD as my starters apart from  were getting a bit long in the tooth so I grabbed Horn for a relatively small fee, then grab Jose Jesus (LB) and Joao Fernandes (R/LB) on free transfers and also Lestienne on a free transfer to help out at the LW position.  Then come the January window I do a 180 on Horn as he's a decent CD but his stamina is shocking and he and can't last a full game so I place both on the transfer market but only get rid of Horn, I then use the money from Horn to bring in both Verschueren and Estrela for just over £1.5M combined (made sure there stamina was at least 15) and also Bird from West Ham (all three are new CD's with the added bonus of Bird and Vershueren being able to play in the midfield.  Da Silva and Vazquez were loanees which didn't last past the January Window.

IMG_7143.thumb.PNG.171c80b73f9b6a659477cIMG_7144.thumb.PNG.743c44e41e62bb7765a92

With Dragowski coming in this meant my other GK Martin wasn't playing and I got rid in January and also sold Horn (as per above) and White who was an unused RB who had no place thanks to my three new additions to the FB position, the rest were out of contract players again

So Like I said a busy transfer session this year

League

Now after a great season last year we wanted to see if a top 3 finish was possible this year, and after a great season where we were putting the smack down on the big boys (save a 0-3 loss to Chelsea) but seemed to struggle against the lower/mid table teams in some games.

But come the last day of the season here's how the table looked

IMG_7133.thumb.PNG.67ea7960f3013e7c08087

We are sitting in 1st place with a two point gap over United going into the last game, where we would face Chelsea and United would play Southampton, so we could afford to lose as long as Southampton could hold United to a draw.

IMG_7134.thumb.PNG.5dcfd0b55552b287d7dc4

So could things go our way

IMG_7136.thumb.PNG.97d3880af8fa7ebf1ded9IMG_7135.thumb.PNG.da8524907cbcc635f6dce

Thanks to a 93rd minute winner from Ngoy we don't need to worry about the other result (but just in case your interested)

IMG_7137.thumb.PNG.fa8282d075e523bf2292e

Southampton stuff United anyway, so the end of season table looked like this

IMG_7138.thumb.PNG.0b2055941d14794551ccf

Wrexham win with a 5 point gap and having scored more goals than any other team (although we did conceded a fair few) and WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!! what a season and what a feeling

Cups

So after we win the league but could we also add a trophy to the cabinet

IMG_7127.thumb.PNG.3ad9d268693d54f5f8c4dIMG_7126.thumb.PNG.6ab54f6a61e6b8d54557f

Yes we can a 2-0 win over City seals the win and we claim the Capital one cup

As for the FA Cup we lost out in the 5th round to Blackburn

Europe

How about our first season into Europe, well we start in the Champions Cup qualifying round against AS Monaco, so a big ask straight off the bat.

IMG_7118.thumb.PNG.9204f1c0205fa9c38340d

Not bad we hold onto a 1-1 draw in the home leg but have to raise our game in the away leg

IMG_7117.thumb.PNG.4a4dc96634c546f8b749d

Well I call that a raise in performance (7-4 agg score) and we go through to the group stage

IMG_7119.thumb.PNG.4a677d5c954eb504ecc64

Oh crap Dortmund and R. Madrid in the group (What have I done lord to offend thee) but.......

IMG_7122.thumb.PNG.ac7e90a80eb68ea59e54a

Wrexham top the group after drawing our first game 2-2 with Dortmund we then go on win the remaining games beating Dortmund 3-1, Young Boys 3-1 and 4-1 and even beat Madrid 1-0 and 3-2 so we move on to the Knockout round where our first opponents are Olympique Lyon

IMG_7128.thumb.PNG.961f62cda3d7d4687e269

We Sneak past Lyon after a 2-1 win in the first leg, so onto the Quarter final where we come face to face with Real Madrid yet again

IMG_7129.thumb.PNG.4a7d0888edd8fbf50e242

Both teams win the home legs 1-0 and after a scoreless ET we go to Penalties (where I thought our journey would end) but we somehow overcome Real and go through to the Semi Finals to face Juventus

IMG_7130.thumb.PNG.52682852feea68979240e

What a first leg all my big guns getting in on the action

IMG_7132.thumb.PNG.6983fffe9016f0ea94db4

a loss in the second leg but we sneak past 6-5 on agg and we head to the Champions cup Final to face Atletico

IMG_7155.thumb.PNG.e73d43759a9fbbbe5e26a

And the dream ends with a 1 goal loss, but I couldn't be more proud of how the boys fared in their first European outing.

Fixtures

Here's our season fixture list and look for some of our games against the big boys

IMG_7145.thumb.PNG.52cfb162b08c17894af29IMG_7146.thumb.PNG.c1f22870a25d9cb1d6b7eIMG_7147.thumb.PNG.4e355994f434ec02ef6f4IMG_7148.thumb.PNG.4d85ece633fb045e05cd0IMG_7149.thumb.PNG.004da17ca172b64e3e889IMG_7150.thumb.PNG.892fe799f270457c4b429IMG_7151.thumb.PNG.c02d4b41c778f2cb020f4IMG_7156.thumb.PNG.b43e76a11c9d9f35291ec

some great results here and some annoying losses to the smaller clubs (I mean were small but still)

Here's two of my favourites

IMG_7120.thumb.PNG.b2beb67994ddcf77bf1d7

Smashed Leicester

IMG_7131.thumb.PNG.8828320420be2f3bf0c09

and give United a drubbing too

Player Stats

Here's our team stats

IMG_7139.thumb.PNG.1ad48d24e65b52e86960bIMG_7140.thumb.PNG.2469e6362897353047d43

A great showing from Ngoy and York combining for 76 goals and 36 assists also pleased with my young striker Anderson who did well when called off the bench this season

Season Awards

And finally some end of season awards where suprise suprise Ngoy and York claim 1st and 2nd in the POTY and Anderson grabs the YPOTY while I help myself to another MOTY

IMG_7152.thumb.PNG.7731ba25529fb2a03cd92IMG_7153.thumb.PNG.5ce65e6a0af62f0361485IMG_7154.thumb.PNG.dd43fb50ac4da1ce0fd42

So a Fantastic season for Wrexham League and Capital One Cup winners and Champions Cup Finalists

Now onto another season and hopefully some more to add to the Trophy cabinet

Thanks for following and stay tuned (I'm taking a short break to get some work done on my SAF and 1K challenges which have been left unloved for a while)

Rise of the Dragons

Season 7

Another season and another chance for the mighty Wrexham to claim some more titles and silverware

Transfers

So we looked at strength across the board this season and made some excellent free signings in Filip Kostic and Gareth Bale, then Andrew Bowden (who has been on loan here before and can play anywhere across the middle of left side of the park) and Pepe and Mendy to give the defence some more solid backbone

IMG_7286.thumb.PNG.c0e8f2028c17229f27f1e

Going out were Leahy (crap stamina) Hudson and Smith due to age then just older or unwanted players

IMG_7287.thumb.PNG.43ded8df9efba810cc73aIMG_7288.thumb.PNG.250abae0504a729b05ef3

League

So after winning the league last year our board wanted to push for more honers and we didn't want to dissapoint

IMG_7282.thumb.PNG.96b48c6104a4d9ff66f06IMG_7283.thumb.PNG.08e4fdbb832f4a0339a08

And Wrexham are the EPL champions for the second year running loosing only 4 games and scoring near 100 goals on the way

Cups

We didn't do very well at all in the cups this year

IMG_7209.thumb.PNG.9c1bbd2f255bd4b0c822fIMG_7208.thumb.PNG.77cd05e6453486220d06d

Started off well beating City on Penalties after a 2-2 draw

Then we went out 3-2 to Chelsea in the Q. Final of the Capital One cup

lost on penalties to Arsenal in the Semi Final of the FA cup

and lost 4-3 on agg to Bayern in the Champions Cup semi final

Fixtures

Here's our full season fixture list

IMG_7290.thumb.PNG.e0b83af7e74e9a428e9e7IMG_7291.thumb.PNG.43b321be163ecef817a3fIMG_7292.thumb.PNG.8caecc4428bad4561c1baIMG_7293.thumb.PNG.37e8871f429b59cb269d0IMG_7294.thumb.PNG.aeb48b0c95ed2ae128c53IMG_7295.thumb.PNG.f88701c10b39aac02153eIMG_7296.thumb.PNG.379167b70eeb2a847b6b6

As you can see had a few bad bouts loosing 3 on the bounce but we managed to win the league and reach the Semi Finals in both the FA and Champions Cups so not a bad season all in all

Player Stats

Must say I grabbed Bale as a good backup for LW/IF or PCR position but man he delivered this year

IMG_7284.thumb.PNG.a0f01661cc89927330369IMG_7285.thumb.PNG.c33d91d042e80283fbfac

40 goals and 10 assists not bad for a 32 year old free agent, my other strikers/IF's all struggled with form this year so might look at bringing in some solid players for those positions (If I get a decent transfer budget)

Player Awards

We manage to clean up at the season awards too.  With Bale claiming the POTY, my young TM Anderson claiming the YPOTY with Pepe in 2nd spot and I grab another MOTY

IMG_7299.thumb.PNG.f76678a271081bb871435IMG_7300.thumb.PNG.12619cb07c8261b586189IMG_7301.thumb.PNG.91d3996ce83303a3271ae

So on to another season, Wales are in the World cup finals so no sign of that job yet but will keep hoping they bugger up

Thanks for following and stay tuned Taking a little time away from the stories to help create a 433 tactic with the help of a few others so stay tuned
