Cracking couple of months there dude and some of those players are proving their worth in League 2, especially Cattermole 9 goals in 3 games, thats insane

And to think he's only 1 1/2 stars right now, coming from a below average youth set-up!

For records purposes Pedro's transfer holds the record outgoing transfer because of the add-on clause inserted into his deal.

We're covering the 19-20 FA Cup adventure here today, and last season saw us get to the Third Round, losing out to Reading. Are we getting farther this year and getting a repeat of our trip to the Fourth Round previously?

Part 33 - Call the A&E!

It's February now and what a month to be a physiologist in Shropshire, as AFC Telford United have suffered injury after injury in this month, to varying degrees of severity. What holds store in their quest to both stay in the League, and possibly move up to the Third Division?

Saul Varo and Michael Pearce have signed on pre-contracts after impressing in youth tournaments,  while Liam Grimshaw was signed from Motherwell for 45,000 pounds and Harry Foll finally agreed to sign for us permanently after two loan spells for 100,000 pounds to provide depth and spine in the midfield.

Part 38 - Bolting it Down

It's a fresh day in Bolton, with a new gaffer coming in the form of John Walsh. The 27-year old Scotsman replaced Phil Parkinson after promotion back to the Championship at the first time of asking and has said he is honored to lead Wanderers to safety and eventual recovery.

The State of the Club

- Right from the start it's going to be a slog, seeing as we'd need a reload of the club to compete for safety. The biggest issue would be the dearth of talent compared to the surfeit of leadership, which needs to be balanced to meet the board's expectation of mid-table.

As for the back-room staff, only Head Scout Jimmy Phillips and Head Physio Matt Barrass were retained as I looked to build a more balanced staff pool.

- The major themes of the transfer window are pace, youth and talent. Raising £36.5 million from the sales of the older heads, the major purchases were Ezri Konsa from Charlton and John McGinn from Hibs to bring in young talent across the side.

Pre-season Results Presented by Carling:

2018_01_10_06_07_41.thumb.png.e6087fea4719bf28af6650ad368b1347.png

- 1 win in 4 doesn't bode well, but with all the new guys it was expected.

Initial Squad Update:

- The negatives aren't as bad as stated, and the talent level is extremely promising as we aim for safety. The biggest improvement is in the staff, as we loaded up with a full complement of ex-professionals. Between Tim Flowers, Patrick Kluivert and the Nevilles, that's around 200 caps and 40 international goals leading the way for the youngsters. We also get young Spanish scout Alvaro Guevara to assist Jimmy.

With these moves, we look forward to doing well in the Championship.

Part 39 - Trotting Forward

Part 43A - A Transfer Spotlight

It's the January window and after seeing the state of the season so far, I've decided to make some moves to strengthen the squad both in the immediate term and in the future. These are our January signings for Bolton.

Transfer Centre presented by the University of Bolton

Screenshot_20180116-121814.thumb.png.d5fa25a8f3950476502c40cce3476ce0.png

- Most of these moves are made with an eye on the mid-term; John Souttar, Allan Campbell and Lewis Morgan join us after the Scottish season ends, with Ben Brereton, Silvio Anocic and Jack Whatmough joined on January 1. Joe Bunney moved to Forest as part of the Brereton deal after a training-ground strop and Jordan Brown joined Pompey in the Whatmough deal to help reduce the fee.

Screenshot_20180116-121754.thumb.png.705a7be21008c659debc2921b301d366.png

- Forest were stupid to transfer-list Ben;he'd scored once for Forest this year and he's hit 7 for us in January.

Screenshot_20180116-121951.thumb.png.f4e2d800eeae34015dae613c7cbf068c.png

- The former Roma trainee and Croatian U-20 international comes as an insurance policy at LB.

- 2/3 of the Scotch phenoms we brought in to strengthen the squad for next season, wherever we may spend it.

There was only one departure, with Charlton paying £300,000 for Aaron Wilbraham to kickstart their League 1 promotion push.

- Wolves made it here after beating Boro 7-2 in their semifinal, though they should have saved some goals for Wembley. A flat start sees us jump them and grab a 2-goal lead within the half-hour and never let go, dumping Mendes' guinea pigs out and sealing a return to the promised land of the Premier League.

- We played the Bosman game a bit here for depth and to reload the U-21s, and majority of the money spent was in reinforcing the back-line, with Dael Fry being agreed upon before the playoffs and Alfie Mawson joining us for a new club record fee.

- We matched the influx of new players with a corresponding clear-out, shifting on the last of the League One side and making massive profits on the petulant Adrian Nikci and the perpetually crocked Raphael Obermair.

Pre-season:

- 3 wins in 4 ain't bad.

- Our last trip to Europe saw us make the Round of 16 in the old UEFA Cup, and our return sees us thump CSKA Sofia in the first leg to seal an 8-3 aggregate win and face Slovak side Spartak Trnava in the Play-Off round.

- While we're having a torrid start to the League, the European adventure is going swimmingly. A solid win in Horwich sees us then strangle the tie with a 4-0 thumping in Slovakia to punch our ticket to the Group Stage and join Spurs, FA Cup winners Manchester United and Scottish Cup winners Rangers as the British contingent.
