Career Smog and The Messi/Ronaldo One Last Dance Challenge COMPLETE

Hi all, thanks again to @Robfor this challenge, details of which are below.

So the first task was to sign Ronaldo from Juve. 

He cost us a cool £168m, and here are our other transfers in S1. Mixture of summer and winter transfers.

Here is how our first season went. A clean sweep as you may expect with 194 goals in all comps, however 57 conceded so that is 137 towards our first season score.

Had to show this as my best game of the season with both guys getting a hat trick.

Here’s how our two legends performed and how they look at the end of season 1. Quite a few frustrating attribute decreases, some training tweaks didn’t appear to stop the decreases and despite their ages I thought they’d hold out longer. 
Anyway a fantastic 71 goals from CR7 with 14 assists and 38 goals with 41 assists from Messi gives us 164 points from these guys. 
My tactic employs Messi as a treq behind Ronaldo as a CF, I will detail it more after S2.

So 164 from our two legends plus 137 from our GD gives us a total of 301 from the first season.

Back with season 2 to finish this challenge. First up my transfers, again a mix of summer, winter and even a few of summer 2021. My priorities were a left winger and a CM so Sane and Savic were two quality additions.

We again cleaned up on the trophy front, as you would expect with such a star studded side. Bizarrely there were two World Club Cup comps, one in winter 2020 and then one right at the end of summer 2021. 
As you will see on my manager profile we ended up scoring 409 goals and conceded 106 which gives us 303 points so far.

My tactic was fairly straightforward and looked like this. The only thing I changed for the second season (as I wanted to get more from Messi) was change work into box and through balls to shoot on sight and run at defence. This reduced the goal output from Ronaldo but made a big difference in Messi’s goal return.

Here’s how the guys looked and performed come the end of season 2.

Ronaldo ended up with 132 goals and 33 assists in two seasons and Messi 96 goals and 88 assists. This gives us a total output of 349 from our legends, add our GD of 303 and we have a final score of 652, @Robcan you please add me to the leaderboard? Many thanks.

Great work mate, that's a massive score. Interesting the tweak the instructions had on the output from the two players, though I guess that makes sense. 

This is such a great challenge - though I hope people stop doing it! I really want to try this one using the tactic I used for my Inter DT, but the second I pause my current career to to try this, that career will be over! 😄

Anyway, great work, can't wait to see what you get up to next...

Thanks all, and yeah @Scratch the tweaks make sense but I was worried the drop in Ronaldo’s goals would affect the score, but he managed a few more assists and Messi’s increased goal return made it a positive change. I look forward to your effort soon.

I have a particular player in mind for my next challenge, I just want to find the appropriate challenge for him.
