Lonfo's Challenges: #1 - National Puppeteer Challenge

 

As a rule of thumb, this NPC is meant to be a fairly tough and long-term one, so inexperienced players should consider themselves warned.

Also, for those who like some extra challenge, two further difficulty levels are available, in the form of extra objectives to be achieved along the way, called Hard Mode and Really Hard Mode.

 

Basic Rules:

1. Do not cheat (editing, HEX, changes.txt, reload, whatever)
2. If you fail, you can try the challenge again.
3. Any reputation lower than World Class is allowed.
4. Any badge is allowed.
5. No unlockables.
6. No Myclub, etc.
7. Load any leagues you want, but look below before choosing.

Challenge Rules:

1. You must never change club. You get fired, you lose.
2. Pick a club from any of the following leagues:
   • Belgium - First Division
   • Denmark - 2. Division
   • England - Sky Bet League One (or below)
   • France - National (or National 2)
   • Italy - Serie C (any)
   • Northern Ireland - Bluefin Sport PIL
   • Portugal - PT Championship
   • Scotland - Scottish League 1 (or 2)
   • Spain - Second Division B
3. The club must have the following features:
   • Not Rich or other "green coded" features such as "Good" training facilities
   • At least a "red coded" feature, such as "Below Average" facilities
   • [Really Hard Mode] Semi-pro or amateur clubs only.

After selecting your club, it's time to get real.

• [Optional] For flavor, change FMM's language to the language of the selected club, if it's available and you understand it well enough.
• You are not allowed to field any player of a different nationality from the league you're playing in.
  • For example, if you are playing in Spain, Spanish players only. Period.
  • Said players, if present at the club, must be get rid of ASAP.
  • If it's not possible to let some them go immediately, demote them to the reserve team and leave them there until you can.
  • You must also never buy or loan foreign players.
• Nationality rules in detail:
  • Players whose second nationality is your league's nationality are treated as foreign.
  • Players of your nationality but with a second nationality can be used for the first two years since game start.
  • [Hard Mode and beyond] Just one year.
  • [Really Hard Mode] Never.
    • Youth Academy players with a second nationality are an exception to this and you can use them.
    • [Really Hard Mode] They are not.
  • For large nations with lots of available players (England, France, Italy and Spain) you are also to discard those with obviously foreign-sounding names.
  • [Really Hard Mode] Pick a league besides the four mentioned above and do this anyway.
  • You can use foreign staff though.
  • [Hard Mode and beyond] You cannot.

 

Now that you're all set up, here's the long-awaited challenge goals.

This is a multi-part challenge, so let's go step by step.

 

1. "With the Big Boys"

• Get promoted to the nation's highest league. That's it.
• [Hard Mode and beyond] You must achieve this in 5 years or less since game start.
• [Really Hard Mode] And never get demoted in the process.

 

2. "National Wonder"

• Win the nation's highest league. Again, pretty simple.
• [Hard Mode and beyond] You must achieve this in 3 years or less since the previous step.
• [Really Hard Mode] You have two years.

 

3. "We are the Champions"

• Win the Champions League and the European Super Cup. You don't need to win the Europa League.
• [Hard Mode and beyond] You must win the national cup in the same year you win the Champions League.
• [Really Hard Mode] And you must achieve this in 3 years or less since the previous step.

 

4. "World Class Puppeteer"

You may achieve this one at any time, but logically it'll take the most time. Still, it's fine to do it in parallel with the others.

• Have 11 or more of your players play for the national team in a single match. 
• Then, the national team has to win the World Cup, when 11 or more of your players have been called for the national team. Not all of them have to play, though.
• You must never manage any national team at any point.
• [Hard Mode and beyond] You must also win the Euros.
• [Really Hard Mode] Also, at least 11 of your players must play 100+ minutes in each competition.

 

That's all, best of luck!

It's a big challenge (for you), but I think it's going to be more stimulating than just signing wonderkids or regens from all over the world to steamroll the opposition.

I just found out about this challenge. I should try this while trying to finish my 2k and 1k challenges 😄
