As always, I have dedicated many hours compiling this list to ensure it really is the most accurate, comprehensive and informed shortlist of the top free transfers in FMM23.

This is my guide to finding and assessing the top FMM2023 free agents who would be willing to join a team from the top divisions. That means the players you see below will likely have no interest in signing to a lower league club. I intend to work on a new list for lower leagues when time allows.

What are free agents?

They are players without contract available on a free transfer. Free players are ideal to boost your squad when your transfer budget is very limited. They are usually players in the twilight of their career, but there are always cases of younger players who are still free for different reasons.

You can quickly see which players are EU national or not. For non EU players you can check their international caps number to figure out if it's likely to get a work permit.

Rating Stars Explained

You will find that stars on this list range from 3.5 to 5 stars. This is a personal assessment and not necessarily in sync with what in-game scouts will tell you.

As an rough indication, a player with 3.5 stars will be a decent player for a 2nd division team. With 4 stars, we're looking at a great rotation/backup option for a 1st division team. 4.5 to 5 stars would be somewhere between a first team and key player for a 1st division team.

I loaded all players in-game to produce this list of FMM23 free agents. Your savegame probably has less players loaded. Try loading a different combination of leagues.

Great list, I'll definitely been signing some of those. There is one player I'd recommend adding: Julian Rijkhoff, 17 years old and averaging PA of 155 over 12 saves for me (I've spent the day doing some analysis!). 

The internet says that he is actually at Dortmund, but he's without a club in FMM. Even when I play as Dortmund he's still a free agent.

Edit: I just noticed that he's on the Wonderkid list, as being at Dortmund. I guess maybe he is in the full game? But he's not there in FMM, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Nice. The game has always struggled with this a bit - they must have some sort of transfer process to import the FM data into FMM and sometime young players like these get lost. I sort of like it (wonderkids for free!) and I sort of hate it (doesn't reflect reality). 🙂

Nice find. He's gonna be a good option at Serie C level, less so at Serie A level (maybe a squad player but ultimately no match for the better players).

Seems happens every year . Think LaLiga released a bunch of wonderkids last few years then gets fixed something to do with reserve / B teams. Think which nations you load effects it too. I found bunch of wonderkids if I loaded 5 European leagues but if I just choose say England and Scotland didn’t see many wonder kids in free agents . Think last year if you loaded non UK leagues ex USA, Canada and Argentina you would get bunch of EPL wonderkids released at start .

Search for germans they have a whole squad of wonder kids N.Collins  cb 

the only downside is they never get international experience because Germany international team is all fake players

Guessing some were snapped up by clubs in real life and are at clubs now in the latest transfer update. Also some you probably don’t have the right leagues loaded for them to be in your save
