  1. Player Roles Guidance for Intermediate Players (Non-Beginners) For Football Manager Mobile 2023 (FMM23) Intro A short series about some player roles - briefly showing ‘how they work’ in the FMM match engine. This is also a conversation - so please feel free to share YOUR thoughts, experiences + screenshots 👍 Contents These are the roles I know an interesting ‘insight’ about: ✅ Wingers (on ‘narrow’ width!) ✅ RPs vs B2Bs (in the MC positions) ✅ APs + DLPs (in the MC positions) ✅ IWBs (both in the D + DM positions) BWM (as an MC in a 4231) Also, ideally I’d like to test how a Sweeper + Libero work in the match engine, but may not have time. Why? When helping others on Vibe + Discord, I feel that I’m repeating the same points. So this aims to have one place to consolidate + explain these player role ‘insights’. Hope this helps you with your tactics - let’s discuss! Next Wingers!
  2. Hello Vibers! It is I, the loud-mouthed, grumpy "Hexer" who had made the old "Hexer's Workshop: It's all about Hex" back in the day. And today, I'll recreate the article to help Vibers explore the wonders that hex editing could bring to your FMM experience - and trust me, it's not going to be easy, but the what you'll get in the end would totally worth your time! Now before I started, I'd have something to say first to all of you. The last article, which I made back in 2018 (my very first article here actually) was deleted by my own request, despite me being very fond of it. That was, arguably, not my best decision, but I have my own reasons: It was outdated, and there were some people who were unaware of that, leading to many disastrous events that I didn't want to happen. I will try my best not to let this happen again, and luckily, I probably wouldn't be the only one running the workshop: there are quite a few Vibers who know how to do so, like @Scratch or @broodje kip, and they are willing to share they knowledge as well. This also won't be the same as the last article in terms of formatting, as it will be made specifically as a place for people to gather and share their findings, not just a string of tutorial posts - I'll try my best to do so! Also, considering what happened last time, I'd like to set some rules in the workshop, so that people won't turn it to a burning mess like last time. Please read it carefully before entering the workshop! - Search the thread before asking questions. The answers might have already been given there, and you won't have to wast your time asking it again. Also, read everything and don't skip, or you may miss something vital. - Don't send me direct messages, ask questions directly from this thread. I don't really have as much time as I had few years ago, so I might not respond. Asking here is better since there are others who would help. - No piracy talks. Don't ask me how to make players' names real, or request for a specific savefile. You'll get an instant report. - Use multiple screenshots in one post, don't make multiple post with only one screenshot. - Ask only questions related to savefile editing, both hex editing and changes.txt are acceptable. - Be civil to each other. My temper wasn't that good since the last "incidents", but I'll try my best to answer your questions in kind. These are all the rules needed to keep the thread truly alive, unlike the last one. Now, without further ado, let's begin!
  3. Hi mates, Below is the list for players who has decided to retirepre-set in the game. This could help you to find the regens
  4. Hi, this is a guide on how to spot a valuable player for your team, even if you are a lower division/poor club. **Note:** This guide applies only to regens. The first thing you'll have to do is go to the player search menu and select "transfer listed" and an age group of 16-18 to ensure that you have a good selection of youngsters to choose from. After that, you will have to go through the youngsters that are worth from 10 to 1 million to minimize the chance of finding a dud. After that, you have to look for two types of players. **Note:** You can expand the age to 20 if your save has gotten far enough in time. Let's name them "too good to be true" and "not so hidden gems." **Too Good to Be True:** The "too good to be true" players are either youngsters with amazing stats and potential but abysmal mentalities or players with decent mentalities and amazing stats but low potential. They normally develop very little, but sometimes you can find a diamond amongst the sea of trash. Too good to be true players normally have the stats of an old player, like a retiring Kevin De Bruyne, and are almost always sold for less than they are worth. Most of the time, a player in this category is an attacker. This kind of player will almost always not gain much value. Thus, if he can't influence your team and make the first team at the start, don't even bother developing him if you don't have good mentors. **Not So Hidden Gems:** Not so hidden gems are the players that have a high spread in their abilities and are not specialized in anything in particular. In this category, you will find a lot of good central midfielders, defenders, and wingbacks/fullbacks. A player in this category normally develops into a good squad/rotation player and can almost always be sold for a profit. This kind of player can mostly be thought of as a piggy bank until you have to buy real wonderkids. Remember that when you see a player that looks like this, he only needs to improve a little for his value to skyrocket.
  5. It’s finally here! FMM19 has rolled out onto the digital shelves, and I for one am super excited at this years edition. For those who have played the game, you will have noticed that the biggest new feature is the revamped training system. We’ve been begging SI for years to revamp the old system and they have finally delivered what we’ve all been asking for. For those unsure about how the new training system works, fear not, for I have compiled a handy little guide that hopefully you’ll all find helpful as you begin your managerial story in FMM19. For those of you thinking this is some super intensive training regime like I had last year, it isn’t. As of yet I cannot find any way to create such a high intensity training regime this year as each save is unique, and therefore it’s a case of riding your bike without the stabilisers on this year. What this guide will do hopefully, is point you in the right direction of what to do, and what not to do. Setting-Up: First things first, before we even head into the training menu, you need to decide which tactic you’ll be using. The reason you need to do this is simply because you need to know which player roles you need to be training your players in. For example, it’s no good in training your attacking midfielder in the Shadow Striker role when you don’t have a Shadow Striker in your tactic. Training Overview: Once you’ve decided on the tactic you’ll be using as you embark on your managerial journey, a trip into the training menu is next on the agenda. At first this page can be completely daunting, but it takes only a little bit of playing around to get used to it. The page is split vertically into six sections which are from left to right: Player Name Attribute Focus Positional Focus Role Focus Training Intensity Progress What I’ll do is talk you through each section individually so we can all get to grips in some way as to what they all do: Player Name - The simplest one, no need to explain this surely Attribute Focus - This is the tab with which you decide which specific attribute to train your player in, and can be changed at any time. Simply tap on the attribute tab next to the player you’d like to change and it will bring up a sub menu with all the attributes listed. Select whichever one you’d like to focus on and voila, that player will have added focus on that specific attribute alongside his other training duties. Still with me? Great 🙃 Positional Focus - This is the tab that has replaced the old “retrain position” option on the player page in the older versions of the game. This is now where you come to retrain your players position on the pitch. Again, it’s just a case of tapping on the position tab that corresponds to the player you want to retrain, and it will bring up the pitch view from previous versions with his aptitude and ability for the position still there. So if your tactic doesn’t employ a DMC, do not waste valuable training time in retraining players to the DMC role. Role Focus - This one is the same as the previous two in that you press the tab that corresponds to the player you want to train and it will bring up a list of player roles. So currently in my tactic, I’ve got Neymar playing in the AMR position as a Winger. So to go hand in hand with that I train his position to be natural in the AMR spot, whilst focusing his training on the Winger Role and I’m also training up his teamwork as his attribute Focus as to try and make him a little bit less selfish. Note: You can only train a player in a role that is available in the position he’s being trained in. So if you’ve got an AP that could be retrained as a striker, you won’t be able to carry on training him as an AP. For this it would have to be a case of retraining him as a striker at the cost of some of his AP attributes. Training Intensity - This is where you select how intensive you want a certain player to train. Tap this and up pops three different options; Intensive, Normal & Light. Please note that having every single player on intensive won’t work and you will most definitely have an injury crisis on your hands sooner rather than later. The way around this is to go to a players personal training page which will have a coach report ready for you in there. In the negative column, if your coach states the player “wants a heavier training regime” then by all means whack his training up to intensive - this however, does not mean he won’t get injured. It simply means that a heavier training regime will yield better results. Now if you look on the positive side of some players, they will sometimes have phrases like “robust” or “resilient physique” these are the players that are safe to put on an intensive training regime without fear of serious injury - although they may still get injured, that is unfortunately a risk you take as a manager. Another tip is to check your coach report for the player, if your coach states he “may have concerns over injuries” that means the player is injury prone and will undoubtedly get injured from intensive training, or even medium training. Countering that, if your coach states a player is rarely injured, then by all means take the risk of intensive training. Progress Bar - Not much can be said on this as it’s still a little bit unclear as to what it all does. I understand that the green bar is the players progress until he makes his next “step up” as a player. From what I’ve gathered so far about the yellow bar, it is when a player has peaked and simply won’t develop any further, unless of course you improve your training facilities or coaches etc in which case he may be able to improve a little more. Important Notes to Remember: Always remember to set your tactic up first before even opening the training page Make sure you know which players will play in which position/role. Go through each players individual training page for some handy tips from your assistant regarding training Intensity Listen to your Assitant manager! Especially when you get a news item through stating he’s been impressed with a players progress in training - that means the player in question has “levelled up” so it may be time to change Attribute Focus Be expressive - this is a largely untested feature, so go ahead and be expressive with it. If you want to train your WB to be a BBM Midfielder then go ahead and do it! Have fun with it, it will take considerably more time to develop players this year - embrace that, it’s a good thing 😀 Thanks for reading, if I’ve missed anything out that you’re not quite sure of then let me know in the comments below. I know this isn’t the most informative or well structured guide but I’m still learning myself. If you have any handy tips for your fellow Vibers then feel free to leave them in the comments below and I’d be happy to add them into the OP.
  6. Hi Guys, the great team over at DF11 have put together a mobile adjusted facepack for FM24. File size is smaller than the regular PC versions, so shouldnt slow down the game too much. Install instructions on the page as well. https://df11faces.com/Mobile Admins please remove if this is against any policies or rules.
  7. FMM Guide: Evolving Your Tactic Score More Goals! After helping 3x FMM players with the same situation, I thought it’s better to write up this advice into a guide … Intro After a successful 1st season - some FMM players find they are performing worse + scoring less the next season! 🔻 With the same tactic, mostly the same players - they don’t understand why. … so how can YOU solve this? Solutions To score more goals, you could get: better players higher mentality (e.g. from ‘normal’ to ‘attacking’) different roles (e.g. from CMs to APs/RPs) different instructions (e.g. from ‘mixed’ to ‘short’ passing) … or a different FORMATIONS (e.g. 451 vs 4231) This guide focuses on different FORMATIONS - to evolve your tactic, to score more goals. Example Base Formation You see a lot of players use a 41221 like this: It’s solid, balanced, good. You may win a title with it 🏆 BUT as your team’s form / reputations improves, opposition AI managers will use more defensive mentalities - meaning it becomes harder for you to score 🔻 In that 41221 - you have only 5 players attacking, mostly from deeper positions, while the opposition usually have 6-7 players defending (e.g. in a 41221, 4231 DM, 343 DM formations), so you rarely outnumber them when attacking. So what are your options?! Option A - Advanced IFs Many FMM players use Inside Forwards - however the consensus is that IFs perform better in more advanced positions in this years FMM 🔥 I.e. in the FR/L positions, in line with the central ST. Option B - Midfield Three Instead of having a 41221, you can easily push your central midfield into more advanced positions (like a 4231) - with an AMC + 2 MCs 🔥 . Option C - Midfield Three Thanks @Reshetnikov who suggested adding this 👍 Instead of moving your midfield three forward, you could just give all of them different roles which encourage forward runs. The RP (DMC) and two B2Bs (MCs) combination is probably the best example of this and is one of the ‘secrets’ behind the Black Hawk tactic’s success. Option D - Wing Backs Is your ST is aerially dominant in your league (e.g. 17+ aerial / strength in the English Premier League) … ? If yes, then having WBs will encourage more crosses to him 🔥 (don’t do this if your ST has low aerial). You could even move your WBs to a more advanced position (DM R/L)?! Combinations of Options Alternatively you can use any combination of these options for your formation: Assuming you’re one of the league’s better teams - here are four formation options to help you evolve your tactic - to score more goals 🔥 You don’t have to do all three of these tweaks - pick the most suitable for you 👍 Thoughts? 🙂
  8. We could make a list of the third teams. for example, clubs that can be located in some way in the game, normally everything that wears C in Spain is the third team and it is usually the youth team A.Bilbao (Athletic Club) is A.Bilbao C (CD Basconia) and plays in the spanish third division. Third team of Real San Sebastián (Real Sociedad) is Real San Sebastián C, and plays in Second federation Group 2 R. Madrid is R.Madrid C, and plays in spanish thir division A.Madrileño is Atletico Madrid
  9. Hey! I wanted to share a list of some older players who have some good hidden attributes to use for mentoring. And I filtered the players as follows: - Top 5 European leagues player - at least 30 years old - at least 3 stars Current Ability - at least 16 Professionalism - at least 16 Work Rate - at least 16 Determination - Loyalty and Consistency (but i didn't filter them) Here is the list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16Wb7whOl1A855hl6yCOW0KTCpRkZuA1bnqIpnCBn_2I/htmlview
  10. What This Guide Is About This guide is about what you can do to give your team the edge in set-pieces, which includes assessing the squad, having certain types of players in certain positions and the conclusion to a little experiment I have been running in my FMM save. I should mention that this will not cover exploitative set-piece routines specific to a game engine of any version or edition of FMM, there is no guarantee that those methods will last and I am seeking to write something that can be somewhat ageless. Set Piece Taker The set piece taker is incredibly important, probably as important as all 10 other players on the field. If there is any position to strengthen first, it is this one. Set Piece taking is fairly easy to assess, you can see your best set-piece takers in the Tactics screen. In general, you will be hoping to amass maybe 2-3 players who are at least 4-5 stars in set pieces. Corners Now for the exciting part, and I believe corners are one of those parts of the game that people get really excited about (even in real life) despite the relatively low conversion rate. Hopefully after reading this though, this will change completely for your FMM team. Attacking Corners I will cover in particular what I believe to be the absolute essentials of successfully attacking a corner. Distribution These are the areas where you can distribute towards My experience is that as long as you have a good set-piece taker and at least 2 potential scorers, a neutral distribution tends to be what gets the most goals for the entire team. Perhaps in a goal challenge save, distributing to the designated goal scorer might make sense, but spreading the ball leads to the best result. Instructions These are the instructions that can be set for player The instructions I will highlight in particular are Attack Far/Near Post, Mark Keeper, Attack Ball from Edge of Area and Lurk Outside Area Attack Far/Near Post I think this area in particular is a good location to attack, often the ones covering here will be fullbacks and you can often get very good matchups in aerial and strength against them. If you do run out of aerial players, you can opt for a good finisher without the aerial at the far post. Mark Keeper If the posts are being occupied, this area here can often turn into a very serious threat. Essentially the corner exploit, except the other players are actually distracted from legitimate tactics and not some magic. I do like to put my strongest finisher here, often it will be the striker. Attack Ball From Edge of Area A very good avenue of attack as well, with a good amount of space to work with. Often the type of player that goes here will be a box-to-box midfielder or an offensive midfielder of any sort. Lurk Outside Area Ah... Lurk Outside Area, a position where legends are born. It is too bad that Long Shot is an attribute that you can't see directly in FMM. You can however get a hint from the player traits screen "Shoots From Distance", which means 15 or above long shots. Obviously you'd want someone with 20 long shots, but there will be no indicators. I guarantee you though, if you find someone with 20 long shots, you'll know it by gut feel. Defending Corners Oooh defending corners. Much easier in my opinion I'll talk about Defend Left/Right Post, Close Down and Stay Forward. Defend Left/Right Post I generally recommend not keeping 2 men at each post, just one fullback at the near post. Close Down Optional to have, but when I do have it I tend to put a short winger there. Stay Forward I usually keep the player on the same wing as the corner and the most attacking midfielder forward, so if we get a 2nd ball it's an avenue for counter. You can consider the striker if your striker is more of the speedy and not-so-aerial type. Free Kicks Another great source of goals, and arguably simpler than corners. I think most else has been covered within corners itself, so I'll cover the stuff that is different. Attacking Freekicks Distribution These are the areas where you can distribute towards As with corners, as long as you have a good set-piece taker and at least 2 potential scorers, once again a neutral distribution tends to be what gets the most goals for the entire team. Instructions Stand With Taker is interesting, I don't use it personally but if you have multiple free-kick takers it could net you a little more from the unpredictability. Disrupting Wall can at times net you the advantage if you prefer the freekick taker to shoot. Often you can put players here who don't contribute much else in terms of aerial prowess or penetration here, but in the ideal world the only such players I have will be the ones with good freekick taking. Defending Freekicks As for forming the wall, I tend to put those with above-average aerials and defending ability here. I do keep reserve a few of the best defenders to be on man-marking. Rebuilding a Squad Around Set-Pieces/Aerial Now it's not really me if I don't talk about squad management and taking any idea to absurdity with regens to experiment with some theory. So let's ask you this, what attributes would you associate with set-pieces? Strength and aerial. Now what position would you associate such attributes? GK, CB, some CM positions and ST presumably, with players in those positions usually having more aerial and strength. Introducing Off-Attribute Meta! The idea where the best area to gain a competitive advantage in any attribute is to have them in areas where you don't usually expect. Aerial Inside Forward The way to play a Wide Target Forward in FMM Nothing could be scarier, until you realise he is often merely making the decoy run for the 50-60 goals a season ST with 18-19 aerial Aerial no. 10 Three's a crowd. There's nothing really shadow about him as Shadow Striker and nothing unusual to see him fire with his great long shots even as an Advanced Playmaker. He was deadly upfront, but a lot of that sting remains even as he was pulled into AMC. Aerial Fullback Not the first one in this save popping up where I went "This guy looks more like a CB". Well at the very least 13 aerial is high for a fullback who is often up against wingers. It's harder to quantify in 1 screenshot the advantage of an extremely high aerial high strength backline because the fullbacks are also aerial monsters. What is also hard to quantify is just how dominant in set pieces this absurdity of a squad ended up being. The move from FMM22 to FMM23 really hit this point hard, usually there is a drop-off from your long-term team to a fresh real-life squad again. The evaporation of that overwhelming set piece confidence from this squad was on another level. Applying This Theory More Generally My guess is this can probably apply to other attributes other than aerial and strength. Dribbling, Technique, Creativity, Movement, Teamwork, and Pace comes to mind as somewhat universal attributes that some positions might lack. Of course even then, something plausible in theory could just not work in the match engine. I would love to test all of this someday, but I am more of the sort of FMM player that looks for naturally generated players. Experiments like this are often something I stumble into by accident, though I do know some people who do theoretical testing using editing so I leave this theory to you. What is confirmed here is that cramming a disproportionate amount of aerial players does work. I do wish I could get such players again for FMM23, but I am running a new little experiment there now which is stumbled into by accident again hehe
  11. In Football Manager 23 Mobile, team mentalities play a crucial role in determining the overall strategy and approach of your team. Each mentality has its own distinct characteristics and objectives. Here's an explanation of the different team mentalities: 1. Contain: This mentality focuses on maintaining a solid defensive structure and limiting the opponent's attacking opportunities. It prioritizes defensive stability over attacking risks. 2. Defensive: With a defensive mentality, the emphasis is on sitting deep, absorbing pressure, and launching quick counter-attacks. This approach aims to frustrate opponents and exploit their mistakes on the break. 3. Counter: The counter mentality is similar to defensive but with a greater focus on launching fast and direct counter-attacks. It aims to capitalize on spaces left by the opposition when they commit players forward. 4. Balanced: A balanced mentality strikes a middle ground between defense and attack. The team looks to maintain a stable formation while still being open to exploiting attacking opportunities when they arise. 5. Control: Control mentality is focused on dominating possession and dictating the tempo of the game. Teams playing with this mentality aim to control the match through patient build-up play and methodical attacks. 6. Attacking: This mentality encourages an aggressive and forward-thinking style of play. The team will take more risks, commit more players to attack, and aim to overwhelm the opposition's defense. 7. Overload: The overload mentality pushes the boundaries of attacking play to an extreme. It instructs players to throw caution to the wind, taking maximum risks and overwhelming the opponent with relentless attacking moves. Remember that choosing the right mentality depends on various factors, including the strength of your squad, the quality of your opponents, and your preferred playing style. Experimenting with different mentalities can help you find the one that suits your team and yields the best results.
  12. Goalkeeper vs. Sweeper Keeper: Who concedes fewer goals in FM23 Mobile? Goalkeeper: - Focuses on shot-stopping abilities and positioning within the goal - Emphasizes a solid defensive foundation - Less likely to make positional mistakes or get caught out of position - Provides more stability and reliability in the backline - Tends to concede fewer goals due to a conservative approach Sweeper Keeper: - More aggressive style, often ventures out of the goal area to clear/intercept balls - Greater risk-taking behavior may lead to mistakes or being caught out of position - Can be advantageous in certain situations, especially against high-pressing opponents - May concede more goals due to higher vulnerability when caught out of position Overall: - The likelihood of conceding fewer goals depends on various factors like player attributes, tactics, and performance - While sweeper keepers can offer offensive support, they also carry a higher risk of conceding goals due to their aggressive nature - Goalkeepers, with their emphasis on positioning and shot-stopping, tend to provide a more solid defensive base, resulting in fewer goals conceded.
  13. Here are the advantages and disadvantages of the creative freedom options in FM23 Mobile: 1. Disciplined: Advantages: - Players with disciplined creative freedom tend to stick to their assigned tactical positions, providing a structured and organized approach. - They're less likely to take unnecessary risks or make imprudent decisions. - This option can be beneficial for teams that prefer a more conservative and defensive style of play. Disadvantages: - Players may lack individual creativity and spontaneity, which could limit attacking opportunities. - It might become predictable for opponents to defend against, as the team may lack variations in their attacking movements. 2. Balanced: Advantages: - This option offers a good balance between structure and creativity, allowing players to express themselves while maintaining some tactical discipline. - It provides flexibility and adaptability during different phases of the game. - Teams utilizing the balanced creative freedom option can combine a solid defensive setup with creative and incisive attacking play. Disadvantages: - It requires players to have a good understanding of their roles and responsibilities, as they need to make calculated decisions on when to take risks and when to stick to the game plan. - It may not suit teams that prefer an extremely structured or ultra-attacking approach. 3. Expressive: Advantages: - Players with expressive creative freedom have the freedom to create and try unconventional moves. - It allows for more dynamic and spontaneous attacking play, often leading to surprising and unpredictable movements. - This option is great for teams looking to dominate possession and create scoring opportunities through intricate passing and movement. Disadvantages: - It can lead to inconsistency and errors, as players may take unnecessary risks or make impulsive decisions. - Defensive stability might be compromised, as players may be more focused on attacking rather than tracking back. - Teams lacking technical proficiency might struggle to effectively implement an expressive creative freedom approach. Ultimately, the choice of creative freedom option depends on your team's style of play, the players at your disposal, and the tactical approach you wish to implement. Consider the strengths and weaknesses of your squad to determine the most suitable option for your team's success.
  14. In FM23 Mobile, the Advanced Playmaker and Roaming Playmaker are two player roles that excel in playmaking, but with distinct styles. An Advanced Playmaker operates in a more central, advanced position, orchestrating attacks by dictating the play, making incisive passes, and providing creative solutions in the final third. Their main focus is to unlock defenses and create scoring opportunities for their teammates. On the other hand, a Roaming Playmaker tends to have more freedom of movement, often drifting across the midfield and exploiting spaces between the lines. They have the ability to contribute both offensively and defensively, acting as a catalyst for transitional play and initiating attacks from deeper positions. The choice between the two largely depends on tactical preferences, the team's style of play, and the player's individual attributes.
  15. The Inverted Winger and Inside Forward are two distinct player roles in FM23 Mobile. An inverted winger cuts inside from the flank towards the center, aiming to create opportunities through runs, passes, or shots. They typically start on the flank that corresponds to their stronger foot. On the other hand, an inside forward operates closer to the opponent's penalty area and focuses on making runs into the box to score goals or participate in passing combinations. They usually start on the opposite flank of their stronger foot, cutting inside onto their favored foot. Choosing between the two depends on tactical preferences, player attributes, and overall team dynamics.
  16. Not sure how useful this will be to most, as it probably doesn't apply in many other leagues - but it's very useful in China. In China, all affiliates seem to come from the division below you. There are none overseas, there are none from some really low division. Now each season, there is a chance that some of your affiliates will get promoted and be facing you in the Chinese Super League. When they do, they will cancel the affiliation because they are too big now. But they don't do it immediately, they wait until several weeks into the new season. That's your chance to send all your promising youngsters on loan to that club. There is no 4 player limit like in some leagues, so you can loan out 15 players to the promoted club if you like. And they will accept the players because they are still an affiliate. The end result is that your youngsters get experience at the highest level in the country. Maybe a loan to a club in the top division of a European league would be preferable, but I've found that youngsters level up nicely from a season in the Chinese Super League and come back to you ready to go. It's certainly far far better than sending them to one of your other affiliates or leaving them in the Reserves.
  17. Hi there everyone, this is my first topic. With the help of sortitoutsi I 've created a list of Poland based best young players. 18. Hi FMM friends, I don't know if anyone talked/posted about this - I don't think its a bug - but I'm here to show you something that I discovered in both FMM19 & FMM20 and that I had the intention to post it here so you guys could enjoy while playing FMM. It will be a lot of pics because I will try to explain it step by step. I will show you how to buy a player for the lowest price when there is also another club interested in the player. Other clubs that are interested in a player that you would like to sign to your club can/will raise the price but with this trick you will be able to overcome that problem. It's good espically if you are enjoying a low league career. Let's find a player of our choice first. Thomas Partey is our choice. Lets make offer for Partey. What we do is change the offer type to Enquiry so that we can get a clue about the price the club is asking for the player. They are asking 11.5M for the player. Now that is a good price and the lowest price. We suggest terms and try to remove the sell on percentage. Oh no, Borussia Dortmund made a bid for 12.25M and that is a bigger offer than ours! What do you think we should do next? Of course we raise the price and give a bigger offer than Dortmund. 13.25M is our offer Mr. Simeone. OMG! Lucien Favre, what is wrong with you? 24M? That is twice as much as your first bid. We offered 30M this time and Atleti accepted our offer. Finalise the deal. All good here. Offer contract and here is where we do the trick. We exit talks here and pretend like nothing happened Once here we will go for a new bid. Bid here in this message. We will see that our last offer stands here but the trick is that we change offer type to Enquiry again. They will ask for 11.5M and %10 sale on percentage again. Remove the sale on percentage and suggest terms. Hell yeah! They accepted the offer of 11.5M without the sale on percentage. Finalise the deal. Offer contract. Finally Partey have too accepted our contract offer. Finalise the deal for the last time. Congrats! We just signed Thomas Partey for the lowest price that Atleti asked at the first place but other interested clubs forced us to raise the price. Enjoy your FMM days my friends.
  19. Hello Vibe and welcome to a Guide which hopefully many of you will find useful. Over the past couple of years of creating tactics for myself, I always find myself revisiting certain key elements, 9 in fact, when making any sort of system. That system can range from a simple 442 focused on wingplay, a 4231 formation focused on patiently waiting for an opening by retaining possession, or a full on attacking 433 focused on relentlessly camping in the opposition area to carve out scoring opportunities and any other system in between. So I thought I’d let the Vibe community fester in my mind for a little while by sharing these 9 steps. I understand that the new game is right around the corner but these points should still apply to it, or any other FMM game of the past. Step One: Envision a style of play and understand what mentality and roles will do. Mentality affects how a team plays, do you trust them to go risky, do you want them to be more aggressive going up or do you want them to be cautious in possession? Mentality affects your team’s width, risk of passing, tempo and defensive lines. For example: A defensive mentality set with a narrow width is much more narrower than an attacking mentality set with a narrow width. A counter mentality set to fast tempo is slower than a control mentality set to fast tempo, despite what you may think. Player roles serve to create individual distinctions within that mentality, and we’ll get into them at a later stage. Step Two: Create a Balanced Tactic A tactic doesn’t need to have 10 players with gung-ho roles to score a goal, a tactic with an abundance of supporting roles can do just as well provided you have considered what your players are capable of. Always think about how you are first and foremost going to defend space vacated by an attacking player. Using a wingback? Then you need to understand that he will aggressively push forward. So how do you defend that space in his absence? Don’t be too one dimensional, mix it up a bit. Using a winger on one flank to whip in crosses whilst having an AP on the other flank with short passes to drag defenders about will give you more chances than having two wingers doing exactly the same thing. Keep the opposition guessing! A balanced tactic is all about defending, controlling and attacking space. Worry about keeping a clean sheet before setting up your attacking shape. When creating a tactic, consider how you place roles first. When you select an attacking role in any position then you need to ensure you have enough supporting roles to play off them and more importantly, cover them. Step Three: Adapt the Roles to Suit the Player Some roles in the game may not suit your players strengths and weaknesses. If a player can’t dribble then choose a role which doesn’t require him to do so as much - CM over BBM, FB over WB, Poacher over AF etc. If he has poor passing, decisions and creativity then don’t give him a role where he will be required to create chances or take risky passes. Step Four: Analyse How Roles Work Together In Your Tactic Roles should be able to work together to create effective passing triangles across the pitch. If you want a tactic that attacks space on the flanks then you want to have an attacking role in that area with adequate support to do so. Roles can be combined together to make it so you have as many different players split across different stratas of the pitch. For example - you could have a Central Defender in defence coupled with a fullback. Together these two roles are slightly offset to provide support for each other. The same can be said in a two man strike partnership. One striker can work off the other, think of a Target Man holding up the ball for a Advanced Forward to make runs into the channels. When you think of roles you need to think about combinations that work the ball seamlessly through each transition. Step Five: Use Team Instructions Wisely Team instructions allow you to create styles of play, but not understanding what they do can be catastrophic. When in doubt, don’t use any instructions, if you’re unsure as to what they do then choose one at a time and analyse the effects. Despite what people may think, there are no rules on which team instructions to use within the game, as long as you think in a logical way and keep it simple you should be fine. Step Six: Analyse Your Squad Study your squad to identify strengths and weaknesses - Use team report screen to gain a simple indication of how your team stacks up against the rest of the league. Squad depth will show you how many players you have capable of playing a certain position, and also ranks them by current ability. Once you have identified your team, draw up a list of positions and rate each one with the players you have. The game is all about defending space, controlling space and attacking space. To do that we need to know how the players can perform defensive and offensive tasks across the pitch. You can rate them by how well they can perform these tasks - Defensive Tasks: - How good your defenders are at dealing with crosses - Aerial, Positioning, Strength - How good your players are at getting back to help out the defence - Pace, Stamina, Teamwork (Work Rate is a hidden stat within this particular attribute) - How good your players are at marking their opponents - Decisions, Tackling, Positioning, Strength - Who can spot danger before it happens - Decisions, Positioning - Who can put in a tackle if needed - Aggression, Tackling, Strength If your central defenders are strong in the air and also have good positional strength then theoretically you could play on a number of different mentalities. Your side could, if you like adopt a defensive stance and allow the opposition to cross the ball. If however they’re average at best then you’ll need to decide on a per game basis wether it’s too risky to sit back and allow the opposition the time and space to cross the ball. If you’re team is average at best, then I highly recommend playing with a defensive midfielder so that the back line gets more support. Offensive Tasks: Creating goalscoring chances is all about controlling space and using space. You need to know what kind of players you have at your disposal, and what they are capable of. - Players who are expected to attack space (for example, those who play on the flanks or those who are expected to move in to the vertical channels) - Pace, Movement - Players who are expected to control and work space (supporting roles, those who drop deep etc) - Strength, Decisions, Movement, Teamwork. - Those who can find players in space (Playmaker type roles - AP, DLP, BPD etc) - Passing, Creativity, Decisions Understanding what your players are capable of will influence your decision on what kind of formation you can use. For example: I want to play an Inside Forward and I want him to attack the space out wide, then I will need him to have: - Go in and attack the space - Pace, Movement - Dribble down the flank or cut inside centrally - Dribbling - Cross, Pass or shoot the ball - Crossing, Passing, Shooting If you have a systematic way of deciding wether a player can perform a certain role it becomes a lot easier. Step Seven: Analyse the Opposition Before each match you should have a quick look at who your opponents key players are. Shutting them down at the source could be the difference between victory and defeat! For example: If your opponent have their best player as the number 10 and you want to try and nullify the threat he poses, then you should always consider playing with a Defensive Midfielder. Step Eight: Don’t be Rigid, Adapt! You should at all times have a plan B if things aren’t going your way. If you find that the opposition is having way too much space on the flanks then you need to counteract that whilst you can. Or you may find that the opposition are camping in their own box and this may require you to push up more, go wide or even get more players in advanced positions. When the AI scores a goal it immediately changes mentality, and even roles to protect the lead. The AI plays dynamically to get a result, and you should do the same wether it’s a small role change or a significant change like changing your style of play altogether. Step Nine: Have a Bench Strategy Your bench players can present an effective strategy change for you. If you find that you need a strong player upfront to hold the ball up for example. Or a rapid winger who can punish tired legs in the latter stages of a match. Don’t be afraid of thinking of different players who can perform different roles to create a different style of play. Consider as well that you might just possibly want to bring someone on to waste precious minutes to hold on to a lead. These are the 9 nine steps I follow in creating a tactic, I hope some of you have found this article helpful and I look forward to hearing of your steps in creating a tactic. Thanks for reading
  20. I've had the issue myself as a user of the P20 lite, and I've seen a few comments here and in the reviews on the play store about how the game is almost unplayable on the P20 lite. You cant click anything, nothing works, it's unplayable. Until the developers look into a real fix this should help your game become playable. As owners of the P20 lite know, they've joined in on the notch on the screen hype. To play the game properly without any issues, make sure when you hold the phone horizontally, the notch is on the right and the Huawei is on the left, when it's this way you can play the game normally, when the notch is on the left the game won't play. I know this sounds daft, but try it, the game should be fine as long as you hold it that way!
  21. Hello Vibe and welcome to a little training guide I’ve put together for you. The training regime that I’m about to show you is one I’ve been using in my careers for the past three-four months or so. I’ve only used it during my spell as manager of the top teams of the game and those who only have the best training facilities available, so do not expect this to work for poor teams or those who have poor facilities, but by all means feel free to test that theory. I’ve had players progress really well by using my method and it’s one I’d finally like to share with you. To start off, I only ever use three separate training regimes, and they are.. Goalkeeping:- For your goalkeepers, obviously. Defensive:- I use this for all Central Defenders, Full-Backs and all defensive minded midfielders i.e Ball winning midfielders, Deep-lying playmakers and Anchormen. Attacking:- This is the regime I use for everyone else, ranging from Wingbacks, Inverted Wingbacks, Central Midfielders, Advanced Playmakers, Wingers, Inside Forwards and all the Forward roles. Before we dive into the regimes, I’ll show you some results I’ve had just now by holidaying a full season at Manchester United. Staff:- My staff setup is always more or less the same all the time. It consists of 1x Attacking Coach, 1x Defensive Coach, 1x Motivational Coach and 1x Fitness Coach. As my own personal speciality I usually go for what’s needed in the challenge I’m undertaking, so if I’m doing a goal scoring challenge I’d set myself as an attacking coach so the club technically have 2x Attacking Coaches. For Physiotherapists I always go with 2x Prevention and 1x Rehabilitation, it’s always better to prevent injuries rather than treat them is the idea behind that choice. Goalkeepers So these are the two goalkeepers I focused on, one is your undoubted number one and the other is a youth prospect with half decent potential. Fast forward a full league campaign later and these are the results Massive improvement everywhere from both players with physical attributes being the standout progress. I can not stress how important physical stats are in this years game, it seems that the EME is very pace driven so I always like my players, goalkeepers included to have a high rating in these areas. Defenders Apart from Bailly you’d class these as average players at best. Blind won’t do you any favours on this engine with his measly 9 pace and Marcos Rojo ain’t pulling up any trees. Fast forward one season later Again, massive improvement in all stats, and once again physicals are standing out with Bailly jumping to a huge 18 Pace, 19 Stamina and 19 Strength. Blind also jumps up to 11 Pace, 19 Stamina and 14 Strength. Whilst Rojo pumps all his physical up into green numbers. Attackers A good mix of players, you’ve got wingbacks in Shaw and Darmian, hot prospects Rashford and Martial, young CM Scott Mctominay and then you’ve got your likes of Pogba, Sanchez and Fellaini. A fair mix of players, all on the same attacking regime. Fast forward one season later Massive improvement once again in all attributes, and once again the physical attributes are the ones that stand out again. Apart from Fellaini, all of these players ended up with a Pace attribute of 15+, Fellaini just fell short at 14. Mctominay has developed into an all round machine that could run any midfield in the world, and Pogba has no less than five attributes at the maximum 20. So Vibe, I’d finally like to share what you all came here to see, my training regimes for FMM. Goalkeeping:- Goalkeepers - Sweeper Keepers Three bars on intensive is daunting, but trust me and give it a go. Even if you holiday the full season yourself it will guarantee results. Defensive:- CB - BPD - LD - BWM - DLP - DM etc. Once again, three bars on intensive. Fitness being on intensive is crucial in my opinion as it gives players that extra bit of stamina that theoretically should see them being able to play more and spend less time on the injury table. Attacking:- WB - IWB - CM - AP - BBM - W - IF - SS - Trequartista and ALL Forward roles And that’s it guys, my guide to a super intensive training regime that has proven time and time again on a personal level to deliver great results. If in doubt then please set it up as you normally would and holiday a season to see for yourself. On a side note, I’d highly recommend you hire two prevention physios and one rehabilitation physios, that’s the ideal setup in my opinion. As always, comments are hugely appreciated and I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks for reading
  22. If you’re looking for a challenge on FMM 18 then ‘I Biancocelesti’ or ‘Lazio’ to you and me could be the club of choice for you. Juventus have been dominant in Serie A since 2012 and the other Italian clubs haven’t had a good look in on any silverware since that time. Lazio however, did manage a Coppa Italia in 2013 and that was only their eighth major domestic trophy in their history. One of the main challenges in a Lazio save is keeping hold of certain key players and keeping the sharks at bay whilst also trying to end the run of dominance that Juventus holds over the league. Key Players Without a shadow of a doubt your best player in this squad is Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and he develops into one of the games leading midfielders in a few short years. So keeping him is of utmost importance In defence, your key player is centre back Stefan De Vrij. With the Dutchman’s contract expiring at the end of the season, can you ensure he stays for the foreseeable future? Last but not least, your Italian striker Ciro Immobile has the experience to lead the line for the best part of five years so long as you can keep him fit Board Expectations The main objective is to qualify for the Europa League, but if you feel confident I’d be inclined to go with Champions League qualification. This will ensure a little bit more money for your transfer kitty. Which at a solid £34million is enough to make a coupe of shrewd signings whilst hopefully keeping your current squad intact. Recommended Transfers For outgoing transfers i would personally ship striker ‘Filip Djordjevic’ he earns £38k per week and this is money that would be better spent elsewhere. Ivan Vargic earns £15.75k and shouldn’t be in contention for a starting spot. I would also loan out Luiz Felipe for game time. As for incoming transfers, the squad is really low on options on the wings with Felipe Anderson and Nani being the only real options. So a winger/inside forward is a must buy this season and I’ve highlighted Ajax wonderkid Justin Kliuvert as a priority target. He can be purchased for around £25million, and will be a welcome addition to any squad. An alternative could well be Cristian Pavón of Boca Juniors who can be purchased for the right side of £5million and develops into an elite player. Tactic A 433 or a 4231 would be the most ideal formation for the club. These formations would ensure you get the best out of your key players. Here’s an option: An attacking 433 with the WB’s pushed higher up the pitch, which can be afforded with the addition of the Anchor man in the side. Starting XI A solid first XI, and with some time could develop into a leading force in European football. Thanks for reading, and once again I hope you’ve found this guide slightly helpful and I would be intrigued to see a Lazio career on Vibe in the near future! Have you managed Lazio in the past? What did/would you do differently?
  23. FMM18: All Playable National Teams The nations that are available to you during a save depend on the leagues you have loaded, as you require at least 50 players from that nation to be able to manage their national team. I have loaded up the database in various combinations to try and ensure that this is complete a list as possible. You will need to load the correct leagues to get some of these teams E.G. Load the MLS to manage Canada, Jamaica or Bermuda. The more players you load the more nations you will have available. If I have missed anyone please let me know the combination of leagues you loaded and I can add them to the list. Europe South America Africa Asia North America Oceania Thank you for reading Thank you to @CIRRUSmd
