jaymarvels, is it possible to combine the usual base and extended in the same file?
When the work item merge?
With what program can open files with the extension "dat"(players.dat, club.dat and other)?

There's no way to combine databases yet. This is a feature I am working on!

True...but the big difference is that FM 3rd party editors only manipulate memory held in RAM...whereas what I do would read in a file created by SI.

Yep and I think you'll need to run the game in English if you have amended Club names..
