Career Moscow Nights-A Russian 1.5k Attempt(SEASON 11)

Introduction. 

It's a cold and stormy Tuesday night and we're fighting relegation halfway into the season... And our next match is against league leaders Atletico Mad-

Oh hang on, 

Wrong career. 

See, now that I've ended(rather abruptly might I add) my Scottish RTG. I thought I could finally focus on the other career I had started, which was my Can't Win Anything With Kids-Extreme Edition career. 

However, due to the new update messing up player fitness I ran into a massive brick wall and now that career is basically impossible to play(in fact, I believe I'm a few games away from being sacked now).

So now that both the career modes I had started have so suddenly ceased, I'm left feeling extremely bored... 

And so here we are! 

Now, we've all seen our fair share of goal challenges right? But no one has tried Russia yet AFAIK. And the thing about Russia is, they have a strong league with their own fair share of wonderkids no-one has heard of. 

So, I've got my jacket on and I'm staring this blizzard in the eye. I am gonna do this. 

THE TEAM. 

Spartak Moscow, Aka The People's Team. 

ALRIGHT I KNOW THE LOGO'S RED COLOUR AND THAT THERE'S A BIG C IN THE MIDDLE, BUT I SWEAR I'M NO COMMIE MR FBI MAN! I SWEAR! 

Okay, now that I've got that out of the way here is a link to their wiki page where you guys can do some catching up on these guys.

TLDR:They are the most successful club in Russia with a huge trophy cabinet that I hope to make bigger. 

THE PLAYER. 

A tough little guy by the name of Danila Proshlyakov(I'll call him Danny-boy) who I hope to make into a tough big guy. 

Now I know he doesn't look amazing, but he is just 18 and I'm sure with a little bit of play time he'll go on to do great things. 

Originally I planned to do a 2k, but given how slow his first few seasons would start I decided that was being too ambitious and that a 1.5k is still a difficult enough challenge. But 2k might still be up, who knows... 

 

THE OTHER PLAYERS. 

And before I end this little introductory post I want to give you guys a look at the players who make up my starting 11 currently.(i also plan to give regular updates on my starting 11 every few seasons, maybe every 3 or 5 season?)

Here they are: 

A somewhat decent keeper, but unless he improves significantly I'll have to replace him. 

At just 20 years old I have hopes of him becoming a mainstay in my defense. 

A little on the older side, but he is the best I've got for now. I have already scouted out his replacement though. 

Pretty decent looking fella, not really that interesting either but I suppose that's just the downside of being a defender... 

Slightly too old for my liking but I've a guy waiting in the wings who is almost good enough... 

Definitely a key player for this side. In fact, if you guys are looking for a decent all rounded(with some slight defensive bias) midfielder I recommend Zobnin. He should be able to do the job for most mid-top sides. 

Just bought him in for about 8.75m to be a defensive double pivot with Zobnin. Not amazing on the ball, but he'll get the job done off of it. 

Not the best right winger, but at just 21 years old I have hope he'll grow into it. 

I can't believe I bought him for just 5.75m, I completely robbed em blind!. Might not be at his best as a winger, but he's still the best I've got. Surely he'll be a key player for the next few seasons. 

Looks pretty strong, don't know much else about him but he looks like he'll get the job done. 

Surprisingly, Danny-boy ain't gonna start this season.(come on look at him, he's kinda shit) Instead we have ol' Luiz Adriano providing the goals. One thing in my favour however, is that Adriano tends to get tired quite easily which means our main man gets a fair share of games and goals too.

Yeah at first I wanted to use another guy who was good with both feet, but then I thought, better shooting=more goals(at the most basic point). And Danny-boy has the best shooting out of all the U18 Russian players. 

Also, a big thank you in advance to all those who will follow me as I go through this crazy challenge. I know sooner or later it'll become harder for me to push through to the end, but now that I've posted this here I'll have to try my best to get as far as I possibly can.

SEASON 1.

Nice and easy clean domestic sweep, but I completely flopped in the CL group stages after only managing 1 draw and 5(!) loses. No doubt that the ultra attacking tactic I'm using does not work so well against teams better than me... 

Both our strikers did well and lead the Premier League and the Cup in goals. 

Unfortunately we don't have a main playmaker who gets all the assists, instead our assists are divided pretty equally between the wingers and the AM.

 

Had a pretty good showing in the league. Honestly I'm surprised with how little goals I've conceded, and I thank my defence for that. 

The Russian Cup was an excellent game won by a hat-trick from our hero. Unfortunately, looks like the boys in blue didn't like that and sent our Danny-boy out on a stretcher. (Interestingly, Dinamo Moscow have their roots as the 'police' team...)

 

And with the fixtures out of the way, how about we take a little look at some key players this season. 

Unfortunately Adriano got a long career ending injury at the start of the season. Which meant Ze Luis here had to make the step up and become our first choice striker until Danny is ready. 

And it is safe to say that he has done a wonderful job at it! In fact, I think he might be able to keep his first choice spot for another season yet...

Of course we can't forget the main focus of this story now can we?

That is some incredible growth, and guess what? Unlike half the youngsters I buy, he still has room to grow after one season! 

His attributes look good, but what about his stats? 

Averaging about a goal a game right from the start! This looks promising. 

Ah, but there is one minor problem I've run into now.

I seriously think it may be impossible to reach 1.5k.

But that doesn't mean I won't try to, I'm just saying that we should keep our expectations low. 

So here's what I propose, 1000 goals as a starting achievement. Sort of like a bronze medal. Then 1250 goals as a silver medal and finally, 1500 goals as my ultimate objective. The gold medal. 

But enough of all those boring details!

Hmm this will be a challenge, but who doesn't love a good challenge eh?

SEASON 2.

Went pretty well I would say. Cleaned out everything nicely domestically, but couldn't make a huge impact in Europe. Danny had a great season, getting a decent amount of goals domestically.(more on that later) And once again, we didn't lead in assists due to it being split pretty evenly between the wingers and the AM. 

Our League campaign went all right, and once again I'm surprised with how defensively sound we were. In fact, at this point I'm wondering if there's any way to trade off some defense for offense. But given how I'm already playing overload with a high defensive line, I don't think its possible... 

The Russian Cup was a pretty tough game.Where Zenit's Keeper put in an extraordinary performance in the first 90 mins to drag the game out to extra time. Unfortunate for him, he was unable to do the same in the last 30 mins. 

We got knocked out of the CL in the group stages.

Luckily this time we were just good enough to make it to the Europa League.

 

Where we played amazingly in the quarterfinals to win 8-2 over two legs. And Danny even got a hat-trick! 

Unfortunately, 

Barca somehow found themselves in the Europa League facing me. Not much to say except that we got beaten by a team that was simply better than us.

But enough of all that! Let's move on to what we all came here for,

Looking pretty good if you ask me, and he still has room to improve! 

Pretty similar GPG to last season(which is kinda disappointing given how much he has improved), but he did manage to play more games this season. Which mean he scored more goals too, which is exactly what we want. 

So with this seasons haul added in, the tally is at... 

70/1000 goals. 

At 20 years old, he has not much more than 15 seasons to go, doing some quick maths that comes up with slightly over 60 goals a season just to reach the 1000 goal mark. 

Hmm seems pretty doable I would say

Also I would like share that thanks to his impressive haul this season, he's managed to sweep up nearly all the awards that were up for grab this year!

SEASON 3.

I had actually finished this season yesterday, but simply couldn't find the time to do a write-up(I've also finished my scouting for my Reasonably Priced Wonderkids series, which should be up soon after this.). 

Anyway, on to how the season went! 

Yet another easy campaign in Russia. Danny easily claimed top spots in the score boards. Impressively, my player's also managed to grab the top spots in the assists leaderboards, which they've never done before so well done lads! 

League might seem like a cakewalk, but Zenit put up a strong fight and were leading the league unbeaten halfway into the season. Unfortunately both their home and away games against me were in the second half of the season... 

The first silverware of the season came after an exciting game where both Danny and their RB scored a brace to win me the game. 

And the last silverware of the season came after a terrible game where we really suffered to get shots on target. Thankfully, we had a world class forward on our side

We also managed a decent showing in the CL, making it to the Quarter Finals. But Real Madrid were simply too good here. 

I wanted to do a whole in-depth guide of my team, but not in this post. Maybe in a few hours or tomorrow, depending on how I feel. 

And that leaves us with...

And you know what's amazing? He still has some more room for growth! 

Naturally, his goal tally is also world class!

MEET THE TEAM. 

Ah I remember I said I would look to replace him if he didn't show any growth. TBH he's still not that great, so I might get rid of him yet... 

 

Another familiar face who I said would become one of the mainstays of my defense. Looks like he did pretty damn alright! 

 

One of my best players, and he was sitting on the bench at the start of this career! 

 

Ah, boring ol Kutepov. Much like the guy he replaced(Gigot), he is a pretty uninteresting fellow. 

 

Ah left footed Kutepov! How nice to see that my two rocks in defense are so boring...Moving on! 

 

On to someone a little bit more impressive now! Can't spell key player without an.... A? Roman has a A! 

 

Only part of the team where I haven't really improved much on...Hendrix is worse defensively but better all-round. Can't really tell if better or worse than Sarr.

 

My offense, however, is one place I have definitely improved on(even if just slightly). Here we have a Man U reject(I mean that in the nicest way, he's been immense for us but we bought him when he was listed...) Really great player who is the best mix of AP+W. 

 

Once again, a perfect mix of an AP+W. I only got him last season despite him being on my scouting list since day 1. Glad to see he's worked out great. 

 

Haha, embarrassingly I forgot to add Quintero in! Sorry JFQ! Interestingly, he started out his career as a winger in this club before moving to his more natural position as a No. 10.

 

And, of course, the man who makes this challenge! I mean, you guys hear about him every season so surely I need not add anymore?

Season 4.

Went pretty damn well I would say. Finally made my mark in Europe with the Europa League win. (more on that later, I got some of the funniest draws on my way up)

Predictably, we took top place when it came to scoring goals.

Ah, but assists were kinda interesting this season. Because I finally found my main playmaker!(more on him later.)

 

The league was a pretty easy win, 

But if CSKA didn't hate us so damn much we could have gone unbeaten... 

The first silverware of the season was won without too much trouble(minus the poor goalkeeping) 

The Russian Cup went smoothly as well(once again, some poor goalkeeping here. I'm starting to notice a pattern here...) 

We got a tough draw in the CL, and were simply unable to surpass either Chelsea or Real Madrid. We were not fated for Champions League glory this season... 

 

Now Europa League on the other hand... 

 

I ain't gonna lie, I was sure our run was over here. 

But the sons of bitches bottled it! We were down two man and they f***ing bottled it! How?... Come on Liverpool... 

 

Well, another English team...

And I'm thankful for the away goals rule.

 

And an incredible late game hat-trick from our hero led to us lifting the Europa League Trophy. 

 

 

Now, I know that I just made a post talking about my team but there is one guy I thought we all needed to take a second look at. 

 

Look at that! A world class winger if I've ever seen one. And that's just his stats playing only about 3/4 of the games... I can't wait to see what he'll achieve next season.

 

 

Now that we've got the appetisers out of the way, on to the main course!

Looking class as usual lad! Unfortunately my coaches say that he's already reached his peak, but oh well. Reaching his peak around 22-23 years old with constant game time does seem pretty fair to be honest. 

He also managed to start every single game of the season. This is it, the limit, 53 games(+/- a few games). Hmm if I'm serious about reaching the 1.5k milestone I need to make him start scoring 2 goals a game...Also, I might have gotten a bit too obsessed with making him start games that it has impacted his performance slightly.(especially towards the end of the season. 

Here you can see his last 20 games. First 10 games, 17 goals. Last 10 games 7 goals. Hmm... 

 

 Anyways, that brings our total tally up to... 

 

195/1000

 

Still a bit on the low side to be honest. I have to remember he's already 22 too!

SEASON 5.

I'll be honest with you guys, I completed this season about a week ago but I was too lazy to post it

OMG @Lillywhite Dean was right! The game is too easy, and my success has absolutely nothing to do with how good I may be at the game!

And yet more evidence that the game is too easy! An invincible season?! Inconceivable!!! 

Alright, alright, enough banter. Else he might start complaining on The Official SI Games Forum.

Unremar- Oh hang on. This was actually a pretty good game. They're keeper played exceptionally to drag the game as long as it went and they're attackers kept getting goals at the last possible moments.

SEASON 6.

Well unfortunately I forgot to take screenshots of the goals and assists, but I suppose it would have been the same as the last few years anyway. I would also like to point out that my second team won the 2nd tier league! 

Most goals scored by far and a higher GD than points.

First silverware of the season was an easy-ish game against Zenit. 

Second silverware of the season came after a incredible 7-1(2014, never forget...) win against Lazio where our good ol' Danny-boyo scored 5 goals. 

Ah but that was where it all ended. 

The first game of the Russian Cup and this happened. A shocking game where everyone just turned into potatoes. Actually screw it, at least potatoes are useful. Right and proper FM'ed 'ere. 

And then this RM game showed me what difference a world class GK can make. Thibaut may be a snake, but he is a world class snake. 

And that's it really, I didn't really take too many screenshot this season so I don't have much to write about...

Also didn't take a screenshot of his attributes, but that's mainly because he's already reached his peak. 

I had high hopes for this season and was confident I'll be able to go over 70, but two things ended up stifling this season's attempt. 

1. was that due to going out early in the Russian Cup and the CL I missed out on about 10 games. 

2. was that for some weird reason everyone except Danny started shooting and scoring more goals all of a sudden. It might be due to the new update, but I'm not too sure. At one point my AP had twice as many shots and goals as Danny

Putting all that's aside, this was still a decent season overall and I'm confident that next season I'll be able to hit 70-75 goals.

MEET THE TEAM.(AGAIN)

Well its been 3 seasons since the last time we had a look at my team, so here we go:

Well I finally got rid of the other fella. But TBH Axel Werner here hasn't really impressed me either...Looks like my search for a world class goalkeeper isn't over yet. 

Sadly, even though Rasskozov(my last RB) was a true world class player I had to replace him due to a change in my tactic. Saelemaekers is pretty damn good though, so i can't say I feel too bad. 

Emerson too has done a wonderful job taking over from Aryton Lucas(my last LB). Although he is a bit on the older side... 

Aha! I've finally got someone interesting as a CB. Wish he was just a little bit faster though... 

And here is the other half of the defensive duo. Looks pretty dam alright eh? Shame about his technique and teamwork though... 

Ah finally, a familiar face. If he manages to keep this up, he may actually be one of the few people I've managed who've retired while actively playing in the first team. 

For the longest time I had trouble finding a left-footed partner to Zobnin. But the arrival of this lad here changed all that. Genuinely might be the best left-footed destroyer in the game at this point. 

And while I was sad to see Quintero go on a swap at first(mainly because at that point Quintero was better than Havertz), I knew that bringing Havertz in was the best choice for the long term. IIRC, the only green attributes Havertz had when he came were Creativity and Movement. 

As good as Andrea's Pereira was, he had unfortunately reached his peak even way back then.(He's still around though, providing excellent depth for both wings and CAM) And to replace him I bought in this fella who honestly just looks like a better version of Pereira. 

And this guy I raved over is still around. What I said back then still applies, he is a world class player. 

And of course at the forefront of everything is this beast right here. 

But... 

There is a another fella I wanted to introduce. Looks like a young prospect I just signed right? Would you believe me if I said he's been with us for 5 years? 

That's right, this Senegalese M'bappe has been a squad player since he was 15!

Anyway, that about covers everyone I wanted to show off. So until next time guys.

SEASON 7.

Domestically, it was easy mode as usual. Unfortunately, no European glory this season but I am looking forward to nest season though. 

Nothing to see here folks, 30/30 wins is completely normal. 

The first Cup was won as usual... 

And so was the second one. But I will admit this game was a bit of an annoying one. 

The quarter-final matches were absolutely insane, with two goals being scored in extra time during the second leg. One of the most exciting matches I've ever seen in FMM. 

The Schalke games were pretty good too, and they exposed a major weakness in my tactic. Pacy wingers and strikers hitting me on the counter. 

And the finals.... 

Well, looks we like now know who hired Mourinho...

Alright, that about covers how the season went so now on to how our main man did.

SEASON 8.(VERY BORING SEASON!)

Meh, at this point the domestic sweep isn't even noteworthy anymore... Well at least we won the CL this time round

Guys 100 GD is totally normal right? 

Meh. 

Meh, but Danny scored 5 goals so yay? 

Much like last season, this season ended with a penalty shootout too. Unlike last season though, this season was a good game.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm starting to get a little bored with this whole thing. But there is a upside...

Finally made it to the exclusive 100 goals club

so that brings our tally up to... 

514/1000 goals!

Now I have to keep in mind that Danny is 26 now. (Oh how time flies...) Which means he has, about 5 more seasons at his peak. If he's able to keep this scoring rate up, he'll easily hit that 1000 target. The true challenge is what happens next, will I be able to squeeze out 500 more goals in his retirement years? 

It's just a matter of whether time is on my side...

SEASON 9.

Other than the lack of a CL trophy, this was a pretty darn good season I would say

DOMESTIC.

Oh no, my perfect record of wins for the last 2.5/3 seasons is gone! 

Can't say I'm too unhappy though, it was a once in a save phenomenon. It was bound to go wrong... 

Here are a couple of interesting games I've played, 

Proshlyakov scored a mind boggling 7 goals in this crazy game. IIRC the current record on Vibe for most goals scored by a single player is 9. Unfortunately, he got injured here and missed about 3 games... 

And here it is, the first game I've not won in the last 3/2.5 season...Can't say it was bad game or anything really, I will say good on them for winning. 

The two domestic cups went about as expected, not really much to add on here... 

EUROPEAN.

A good win. I also want to add on that I'm a little impressed with how many world class teams I faced in Europe this season. 

About 90% of the teams I faced in Europe had players that were as good as if not better than my players(and that includes the group stages where I faced Barca, Lazio and Benifica who were all world class) 

I hate that fella, I really, really hate him... 

Fun fact, Carlos Boselli is Messi's regen! And he didn't even start out at Barca, started at some German team IIRC and then transferred to Barca after a few season. He is also Serbian! Hmm this makes me curious if when he retire, then will his regen still be Argentinean or will it be Serbian? I'm guessing he will be an Argentinean, because it's probably the default for Messi's regen. 

Anyway, enough about Messi! Here's how the final game of the CL went:

Well, what can I say. It was just one of those days you concede 3 goals from 2 shots on target... 

 

 

STAR STRIKER.

Although he didn't get as much as last season nor did he break 100 again, this was still a incredible run. 

Besides, 

If it weren't for these two injuries that kept him out of 5-6 games I believe he could have equalled or bettered last seasons haul. 

So that brings our total goals tally up to... 

609/1000 goals.

 

And that about covers this season. 

Manager stats as usual, a very interesting mix of green and yellow that I find quite pleasing actually

Also, since it has been 3 season since my last squad review I think it's time for another one! So keep an eye out for that fellas.

MEET THE TEAM(3RD EDITION)

Before we get to the players, I would like to preface this by saying that I underwent a huge tactical shake-up that saw me cutting the AP role entirely out of my plan. And this meant that my best player(Havertz) unfortunately had to leave. 

With that out of the way, here's my starting 11:

Annoyingly this guy's still here. Now don't get me wrong, Werner isn't a bad player but he let in some terrible goals in his time here that I can't forgive. Thankfully I have a few promising GKs coming up. 

Ooh boy! Would you believe me if I said that this is his break-out season? He really exploded out of nowhere, and look at the depth he provides! But he isn't even the best wing-back at the club... 

This guy is  And he provides even more depth! I seriously can't believe how good my wing-backs are, probably the best wing-backs I've managed in this year's edition. 

Vertonghen is still around and rightly so, he is one of the best BPDs in the world. Unfortunately he has declined a little due to an injury he suffered a short while back. 

And the other half of the defensive pairing is still this guy. Honestly I've been looking to replace him for a long time, but there really aren't too many left footed BPDs floating about... 

So, I said I removed the AP role and Havertz as well right? Well, I replaced him with this guy. Not the best choice I know, but he was the best DLP I could get on short notice. 

I really, really wanted to keep Zobnin as a starter as long as possible but that would come at the cost of not making use of this guy. And I simply couldn't let that be. Zobnin is still around though, and I will make sure he gets the sending off he deserves when he retires in a few years. 

And Zobnin's ex-partner is still around, doing well I suppose. Unfortunately, he too like Vertonghen had a slight decline after an injury. 

And this guy... I never expected he would grow to be this good! I mean scroll back up and take a look at his attributes when he was 25 years old, and look at him now! A real late bloomer! 

And of course, Pellegrini is still kicking about  A mainstay of my team for the last 6+ years. 

And, last but not least... 

The legend himself! And let me give you guys a little teaser:

And this after he slowed down! He had 46 goals in 15 games IIRC! This whole thing is just starting to get insane!

SEASON 10.

Wooo! Clean sweep! If only I won last season's CL, then I could have gotten the UEFA Super Cup and the most important cup of them all, THE FIFA CLUB WORLD CLUB!!! But oh well... 

No surprises here

Ah, but Quresma here really stepped up this season. Hopefully he'll be able to keep it up next season too.

Another perfect 30/30 win here

Although this has been one of my lowest scoring seasons in recent years. But I'm not too worried about that. 

An incredible performance from Danny here to clinch the first silverware of the season. 

And a brace here saw us lift the Russian Cup too. 

EUROPEAN.

Not today RM, not today! 

Danny completely dominated BVB in the first leg but couldn't quite pull it off again in the second leg(not that I'm complaining) 

And what a final this was! Hmm I've had quite a few penalty shoot-out finals eh? Must be a curse! 

100 GOAL A SEASON BEAST.

Would you look at that! Averaging over 2 goals a game, this is his best season yet! 

So that brings us to:

If he keeps this rate up I'm confident that he'll be able to hit that 1.5k mark

SEASON 11.

Aww come on second team, this could've been a Spartak clean sweep! 

Just another normal season

If it weren't for Quresma being injured for about 2-3 months he could've easily made a clean sweep.

No 30/30 this season either... 

The 2 Cup finals were an absolute joy to watch, an Danny scored and impressive 9 goals in these 2 games. 

EUROPEAN.

A very boring set of games and I wished they higher scoring... 

But these 2 though, oohh boy. Bayern what is you doing baby? 

And the final was sooo stressful. Mainly because I was afraid it was going to end in a penalty shoot-out again. 

MAN WITH HIS BEST SEASON YET.

120 goals! In just 54 games(the most number of games we've had in this career) 

Ah, but there is a problem. 

Oh no. 

29 years old and coming off his best season ever. And he declines. Really EA?

Hopefully I'm able to squeeze out a few more 100 goal seasons before he hits a major decline. 

Well anyway, that brings our goal tally up to:

841/1000 goals. 

The 1000 mark should be passed in 2 more seasons when Danny is 31 years old. After that it is just a matter of how long until he retires...
