Career The Warriors: The Battle Ends

Season 13 - England - Rob

It is now simple a case of trying to get as many goals as possible whilst getting Greenwood to a 1kc and Greenwood/Dembele to a (should count but doesn’t) DT.

Transfers

Maes returns. The rest of youth products and English players to try and improve. Not entirely sure why it says Harvey Elliot left? I can’t remember who it was but that sort of glitch seems to happen a fair bit this year.

Team Performance

The Champions Cup game home and we had a decent league performance.

Player Performance

Harvey Elliot had his second best season, grabbing 44 more assists to take his total to 364.

The three strikers got 159 goals this season. Greenwood snared 75, leaving him 164 away from the 1kc. Interestingly Rogers got 67 which took his total to 703. I will keep an eye on that. We are now at 1,861 goals. Greenwood and Dembele need another 40 or so between them for a DT.

The Warriors

Bizarrely after 13 seasons Foxy and myself are equal with assists, which is nuts! Both Woody and Ian are on their way towards their TTs, with Ian’s just around the corner.

Woody: Season 14.

After a really good last 6 or so seasons having consistantly hit 100+ we are now edging closer to that ellusive 1.5k target.

Season 13 was meant to be unlucky but all 4 of us had great seasons.

Lets begin.

Spoiler

This is a story of how my season unfolded.

I take you back to Friday 31st July.

After a busy week at work and trying to complete season 14 of this wonderful challenge, Mr Sam Hardy dropped the 1st challenge of the new Challenge Cup campaign during the week.

I decided i would tackle the challenge later in the week and concentrate on season 14. I managed to to get pretty close to the end of the season and thought i would start the challenge cup save as to have it done in time for the 5.00pm deadline.

This caused me quite a stir as we are currently having work done in our street for gigabit fibre.

The internet has somewhat been a little intermittent since so my focus was to get the challenge done quickly. I had it done with an hour to spare so i quickly saved my game and grabbed all the nescessary screenshots ready to post over to Sam.

Having got all of the screenies uploaded i realised i had forgot the league table shot so i hopped back into the game. As usual it had to restart because it had been idle in the background for too long(it happens alot). Once i got it loaded up and clicking on load up game i noticed 2 saves with the same name!!!

At this point i started to have that pit of your stomach sick feeling....where the fuck is my PSG save???!!!

I then had this sudden realisation that in my haste to save my challenge season i had copied the bastard thing over the top of my Warriors career hence ending all chance of me reaching the TT total!!

After many minutes passed and feeling right fucked off including losing my shit with my 10 year old daughter(which i instantly apologised for)i decided i needed to let the rest of the lads know what a complete numpty i had been.

Safe to say this is the sickest i have felt since Newcastle got relegated the 1st time!

My only hope from now on is that the lads hit some huge totals and make me look the absolute tit I deserve to be and hopefully next year i will be  lucky enough to tag along again.

I thank everyone who has send messages of encouragement thoughout and followed my ridiculous 4 some.

Its been a complete blast.

Thank you.

A really unfortunate turn of events Woody so I feel for you. It’s been a pleasure playing this battle with you though and it probably won’t be any consolation to you but I’m more or less certain based on the numbers that you’d have made the TT.

Season 14

We only needed another 71 goals from our three forwards to compete the triple threat challenge and our assister was on 292 assists so another eight for him this year and he’ll be past the 300 mark. So those were that targets to hit and the aim for this season so let’s see if we were successful.

Team Affairs

A few transfers as you’d probably expect with the monsterous budget you get at PSG. It’s strange though as it’s almost like you feel you have to spend and end up spending for the sake of it.

Barcelona prevented us completing the clean sweep as we had a late meltdown and it was Fati who did most of the damage. Everything else was won though with the latter stages of the CWC to come after we move over to next season.

Warriors

We hit our triple threat target and it was the Postman who delivered the all important goal against Manchester City in the quarter final of the Champions League.

A39213FB-21D2-44F9-A693-27D1853FCA55.thumb.jpeg.7bd8f8494d50f60fca7b6df721ef7f52.jpeg

The three forwards combined to score 92 goals in total which was a touch down on last year but we did suffer a few little injuries throughout most of which were to Josh which surely hindered us a bit. It was Boadu who scored the most with 33, the Postman followed up with 32 and Josh could only manage 27 but we’re happy enough and whilst they’re all on the pitch together they are still well amongst the goals. Our assister also managed 27 assists to put him up to a total of 318 so not too bad. I do feel a bit guilty with him though as he’s played the vast majority of his time on the left wing yet I reckon he’d have made a truly great AP but I had Havertz there with the Gündogan challenge in mind so really unfortunate for Mohamed.

Now we’ve hit the TT it’s just a case of playing on until I get sick which will probably be when it gets to the stage the forwards just can’t score enough goals or having all three on the pitch at the same time is a hindrance to our results. We’ll just play it by ear from season to season but there’s definitely at least one more season in them so we’ll play on.

Thanks for reading.

Foxy Season 14

This has been such an up and down save so far and the last couple of seasons have shown that with 167 goals scored in S12 and then a drop down to 129 last season. This season saw the total go back up again significantly as did Cappy’s assist total.

Competitions

It was a clean sweep.

Capanni Assists

With a drop last season and Cappy’s attributes declining I am resigned to not beating my 551 assists personal best in this save so that will have to wait for another day.

I did move him out wide right this season and he did much better despite his declining pace so I haven’t given up hope that he might get close to 500 assists for the career.

Season Assists: 38

Career Assists: 402

Goal Warriors

My aim is 2000 goals from these three or maybe more if they keep going well for the next few seasons. Like @Ian I don’t know how long I will keep this save going for although I would imagine I will do at least three more seasons, look to get over 2000 goals in that time and then call it a day before it gets too frustrating.

I recon with how many your hitting each season now that 2k target you've set yourself is doable next season.

It was a great season mate and the warriors have done you proud.

Nice season and it looks like you’re well on course to hit most of your target. The 2k is nice but the unofficial DT’s done all ways is very nice too.

I could manage to get them through Josh and both other guys but think we’ll fall short with the Postman and Boadu.

I was never able to get the goals focused to one player so a 1kc from any of them never seemed much of a possibility early on so it has been nice to have that balance of goals through them all.

Season 14 - England - Rob

A couple of targets remain in this save: A TT 2kc, enhance the illegal DTs, and obtain a 1kc for Greenwood.

England

We lost the European Championship on penalties. We also stuffed the Germans again.

Transfers

Like the others said, we have so much money now it’s stupid.

Team Performance

Clean sweep. By this point no one really cares.

Player Performance

Firstly, Dembélé wants to go. I am going to keep him and refuse to sell, which means I basically have three seasons of a TT left, which will include at least one unhappy player.

Harvey grabbed another 39 assists taking him past 400 to 403. That’s a number I never thought he would reach so I’m delighted with that.

The boys grabbed another 159 goals. We have now passed 2,000 with a total of 2,020. Rock on! We can use those final three seasons of TT to try and improve upon that.

The Greenwood and Dembele unofficial DT has been achieved.

Greenwood is now 83 away from a 1kc. He has four years of contract left so that’ll be met. Rogers has four years of contract and needs 264. Hmmm, let’s see!

I will still claim that Woody should be granted an honorary TT in respect to his efforts. Another 108 season would have gotten him to 1,350 and within the realms of the TT.

With TTs in the bag Ian, Foxy, and myself are now just rattling on trying to improve upon our scores and get them as high as possible before the save becomes a nause to play. There is a cracking assist challenge continuing though!

Thanks for reading and all comments welcome!

Cracking season and with crappy Cappy declining fast I think Elliot should get the most assists as well now.
