Career Dave’s Triple Threat Delight (Complete)

Hoping this will turn in a to a lasting game, enjoyed the first season anyway, I don’t think I can get in to a game for years now without a challenge! 

So I decided to go PSG for this one as they have plenty of money and I could take a pick on who I go for, a few of my first choices we were unable to get as the clubs were unwilling to sell, so we settled on over paying for FABIO SILVA, PIETRO PELLEGRI, MASON GREENWOOD. Yes I am aware they aren’t the same nationality, but I hate doing international jobs whilst going a club. This will make things harder, but I’m hoping I can make a tactic work, got plenty of time doing it.

Transfers 

Massive overhaul of players here, think a few players with PSG haven’t got great stats, was expecting better to be honest. So they had to go and I had to bring in players that would suit the system I usually go for. Also we swapped Neymar for Sterling in a straight swap in January, but doesn’t appear for some reason. Also signed Ings and Mitrovic as back up just because I like them 🤣Also sold Mbappe which I was thinking should have I just used him 🤔

Tactic

So we went with my tried and trusted 3 man striker formation, I did change things each game it felt like, because everyone gets goals in this tactic, so next season I will be attempting to go for something different I think.

Results

 

So as you can see we dominated everything bar the French cup, when Troyes knocked us out on penalties. Kind of expect to win most things with PSG though, I was hoping for more goals 🤣

The players

So as you can see Pellegri really struggled this season, but his stats hadn’t improved till right at the end and he still has some way to go, was happy with how Greenwood and Silva player, silva missed quite a few games. So they got 82 goals first season, which isn’t great, but I’m sure once stats improve and I’m happy with the tactic we will push on.

Season 2

So we looked to continue last seasons success and hope the boys stats improve to start really banging the goals in.

Transfers 

We made a few good signings which really strengthened us, was happy with the business we did. Savic has always been a beast for me in the centre of midfield, I wanted him first season but was priced out, I knew him coming in would create goals for others and he loves scoring as well, 25 goals in the season in fact🙈

Tactic

So this hindered the start of the season for myself, I tried creating something new and then went back to my tried and trusted with a few player roles different and we really kicked on once done.

Results

So another dominant season, our all out attack method, is just too powerful for the opponents on most occasions. I’m sure once the boys improve they will score a lot more.

Dave’s Lads

So as you can see, a total of 98 this season, we missed a total of 8 penalties through these boys this season, I hope this improves🙈

Total after season two: 180

I’m sure there going to go stronger soon, the lack of stamina is a killer as there off about 60 minute mark most games.

Yeah I’m getting a lot of teams goals, I’ve made a switch this season and decided to play a deeper line and seems to stop sharing the goals as much. With sterling I brought him in first just to get rid of Neymar but had him train as a winger and he plays the RW position, his crossing has improved to 15 now and I’m reaping the rewards this season a bit more as seen below.

Season 3

Decided to show it like this instead of transfers in and out as it doesn’t show you what players were exchanged, Zaniolo just didn’t fit the winger role as his crossing never improved under me. Ruben Dias is a brilliant defender but he lacked a bit of pace which Joe Gomez gave me, finally felt like I had the right players in each position for Team A and team B squads.

Squad

So we played the same way as last year mostly a couple of little changes, but I’m finally pleased with how we set up now and I think I will stick with the way we play for the rest of the career. 

Results

So as you can see a near perfect season from the team, we managed to tighten our defence and still score the same amount of goals. We lost to Real Madrid in the semi final of Club worlds, that’s as with last seasons squad and tactic though. Think I could get that 1000 goals in a season and a half as we’re on 677 as we speak.

Dave’s Lads

So as you can see the numbers are up and the boys stats improved towards the end of the season and they started banging them in towards end of the season so I’m hoping that’s what Will happen next year. Also nice Greenwood scored 4 for England as well in 4 matches.

Conclusion 

Well as you can see an improvement again in the boys, hopefully get stronger again next season. I will do individual totals soon, just hate maths 🤣

Going great mate, good to see them improving nicely and happy to see Pellegri in particular (seeing he did so well for me) score a few more. Out of interest are you using the November DB or the March one for this save?

I had the same dilemma in my DT (and now in my TT) - when you are playing attacking with 1 at the back, that player needs to be fast or you leak more goals than you need to... I've gotten rid of some great defenders who were just not fast enough...

I’m using the March one, I always forget when I start a game that’s there’s two databases to be honest 🤣

Yeah I only noticed the players exchanged were on when not pressing players in or out by chance, weird how it works like that!

Yeah Gomez has come in and we aren’t conceding as many silly goals now, also brought Restos in as his pace is 17, his stats are really good now as well.

Should be a new update later, after a heavy weekend on the 🍺I finally feel sort of Normal🤣

Reason I asked is that I think March Pellegri isn't quite as good as the November one. Should still be more than good enough though. 

I'm sure the exchanged players used to show up earlier this year, but don't seem to anymore (except in the all view as you discovered!) so must have been removed? But why would they do that? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah, I'm gonna have to upgrade my CDs to faster ones. Bought Upamecano who has Pace of 17 but needs to develop a bit, but need to go shopping for another one...

Now that you’ve said that @Scratch you are right with Pellegri, he hasn’t improved much now, hoping for a splurge in stats but we shall see. I don’t understand the player exchanges, would be a very weird thing to get rid of, but I’ve seen weirder things happen!

Season 4

So we went in to this season after a good season in the 3rd, but one thing I think we can all agree on is the World Cup season seems to be the worst ones as games come too fast and was hard to play the players every game. We had more injuries than previous seasons but the boys still did alright this season, the team performed superbly. 

Transfers

So as you can see a lot of activity and I probably went a bit mad, brought players in that have done well previously for me and as I knew games came thick and fast this season, needed more back up. The Lainez one looks like it may be a disappointing one as his stats went down as soon as he came and I wanted to loan him out to improve but that hasn’t happened. Been trying to get TAA since first season but this was the first season I could get him, gave them sterling and some money and could train Trent up to be the ideal winger 😁

The Tactic 

Nothing much changed here, but I haven’t revealed instructions on my tactic but I usually go overload to bombard the other team and it’s worker very well for me, but went defensive and the defensive line from high to balanced. This was in the hope that the goals would be more shared between the front three, it went well doing this, but still unsure if it was more goals or not for the front three.

Team Performances 

So as you can see a great season again, we haven’t lost in the league for 3 years now which is great. But with the squad I have at my disposal I’m not surprised. Lots of goals but not many conceded either.

Dave’s Lads

So as you can see a decent amount I think from the players in World Cup year. Which brings our total up. Greenwood starting for England as well is nice, Pellegri has made an appearance for Italy, how Silva isn’t in Portugal’s squad is beyond me and has 30 goals for under 21s🙈

Season Total - 126

Career Total-  431

So nearly a 1/3 of a way there now, hoping for bigger numbers going forward as I’m still not 100% happy with my tactic.

Season 5

Transfers 

Well I think I need to settle on a squad now, so many changes to our squad every season. Joe Gomez who started the season as number 1 CB was displaced by Restos who’s stats are brilliant. So I have decided to swap Gomez for Upamecano as he’s younger and great stats and will fit perfect in the team.

Tactic

So one thing I’ve been silly with is after one game where the boys don’t score I will try and change something, I’ve decided next season just to stick a season through and hope no changes will get the boys smashing it.

Results

As you can see we won mostly everything again, but I still wasn’t happy as I felt it was one of our worst performing seasons, I did change the tactic too much so going to stick this season. We did get the 1000 goals in a good time with it at 3.65, was happy with that.

Dave’s Lads

Season total  - 134 (only 7 goals internationally)

Pietro Pellegri Total - 155

Mason Greenwood Total - 211

Fabio Silva - 199 (can’t believe he has 44 under 21 goals, hurry up Portugal!)

Your doing great but there is one problem. You can’t count the ITN goals in this challenge because.

1. You need to be manager of that nation for the goals to count and then only goals scored under your spell as that nations manager count to the total.
2. In the TT they all need to be the same nationality in order for the ITN goals to count towards the challenge.

Saying all that even with the ITN goals taken off I’m sure you can hit your target.

I know what you mean with the tactic thing. I have 3 different options right now and I can't settle on one, so I keep changing and I'm getting really confused. I think you're right that it's probably best to pick one and stick to it! 

And great work on the 1000 Manager goals too.

Yeah Silva is an absolute beast, no weakness really, hopefully he keeps getting them goals! 

Yeah the tactic situation is a hard one, I stuck with one tactic from January onwards on the latest season I’m about to post, so I think I shall keep it now.

Well as you can see again, quite a bit of ins and outs to the team as usual, nearly every season the players coming in usually go in to my second team. But Diaby was coming in to start as Bernadeschi was now 31, so stats starting to decline.

Tactic

Well I finally stuck to a tactic from January onwards, I switched to inside forwards instead of wingers but had right footed on the right and left footed on the left which I found didn’t affect how many goals the strikers would get but brought up the team goals a bit.

The champions league was epic, so many goals and so many more could have been scored, did make me think what could have been Witt Haaland in my team!

After getting the totals wrong last time by adding international goals I shall deduct these for this round, which is easy enough as none of the strikers scored much really for previous clubs.

I’ve settled for him being a complete forward in the way I play, but I’m sure he’d work for in any of the roles 👍
