Quick update - loads of signings - signed 14 new players plus two on loan, total cost 2.3m, while seeing 19 players leave plus 8 sent out on loan - total incomings, 22k

so i was raring to go for the first league game of the season, and...

And Benny netted the winner in a 1-0 victory in our second game to seal the deal - we can reach Truro! Big weight off the mind cos i didn't know how long it might take him in the higher division...

So for now, we wait for the job to come available............

In the meantime, i don't have to play Benny any more he's my 5th or 6th best striker now, so maybe we'll see the team catch fire with him removed...

This is..... not the best way of playing the game I have to pay attention all the time when i press Continue, in case the one job i want finally pops up. If a news item saying "Truro have appointed Jonny TwoHats as their new manager" popped up, i think I'd cry. Or just reload, but y'know...

Imagine if i have to play through to August 2049 though, and then... it doesn't happen. That would be devastating! 

Fortunately i have nearly 4yrs, so surely it'll come. 

In the meanwhile i have to take the Seagulls semi-seriously, so we're second after about 15 games. 

I thought I'd check in one of my old mates.... What a waste of talent

Ha, there'll not be a bad word said about Jordan Rhodes here, after his glorious loan spell at West London's finest a decade ago

Yeah, I should qualify my glib remark... I was a big fan of his, the best finisher I think we ever had at Huddersfield and he was unreal in the 2011/12 season. My only wish was that he had left us to do something in the Premier League, he seemed to decline at Blackburn despite scoring regularly there.

Anyway, after gatecrashing your thread with my nostalgia. How is your South American(?) wonderkid doing in the lower leagues now?

No worries! Rhodesy seemed good but like an old-fashioned centre forward just as they were going out of fashion - a couple of big holes in his game for the modern era. Or maybe just too much money too early, lost the desire to push on...

The uruguayan kid is barely playing, he's my 5th choice with old Kilman as 6th Stracey's been unbelievable, new signing MacKay just scored the fastest ever FMM21 hat-trick, and a couple of others from last year are blossoming too. Not far from halfway through the season, so league table will be coming soon...

A crap second half to the season has seen Truro's manager's status slide from Very Secure to Secure 😮

Sigh, new season begins, gotta summon up the energy to upgrade my whole squad - yeah we did well last season and yeah we've got loadsa dosh, but we've also just had 3 promotions in a row so there are some quality issues...

World Cup 2046 happened in Australia, with the Argies triumphing thanks to an early goal in Extra Time:

The Truro job hasn't come available, so we'll have to keep an eye out and won't be able to complete the challenge (play one season at the southernmost club) until Season 28.

We start Season 27 with Weston-super-Mare in League One, and we start without Ben Kilman, whose 140 goals qualified us for the Truro job. He's been overtaken as we've climbed the leagues, so he's surplus to requirements now...

Our first game in League One was memorable!

Lol, i have been thinking what i could do... but not sure there's anything really. Surely this would give them funds and they'd buy new players? Or leave me with a total mess to inherit

Halfway through the season, currently riding a 15-game unbeaten run:

And even more excitingly, Truro are hovering around the VNL relegation zone. Sadly, after winning 1 of their first 16 (sack him!!), they've recovered a bit...

Gah, i didn't know about that or notice it before, and now he's Stable

We never looked back, losing 3 of the first 7 and then only ONE (to second-placed Burnley) of the last 39!

We had three awesome strikers, which helps, i guess... i won't bore you with all the details, but here was this season's main man, with one of the great (albeit pointless) Goal a Mile seasons:

 

BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY...

Truro got relegated

And finally, their manager showed up on the Jobs page...

It didn't take long...

And a few days later...

 

So a bit of a pointless season ahead to finish the career, but yeahhhhh, we made it!!

I'll be back to finalise and summarise in due course
