Season 14

So just 28 goals needed for McKennie to hit 1k. I think I mentioned in the last update we had the Gold Cup with the USA which is always nice to rack up a few goals and that’s exactly what he did. 18 international goals before Xmas and a few club goals meant I was able to swiftly concentrate on Reyna and increasing his goal output.

Here’s how the guys looked at the end of this season, with McKennie taking a lesser role once he hit the 1k and I was able to get more from Reyna.

Reyna only has two years left on his deal and won’t sign another and Musah is just out of contract and again won’t re-sign so I may lose him. However I was able to 60 goals out of Reyna this season so two years should be enough to get the split 1k.

 

So 1003 goals for Weston McKennie, a ball winning midfielder! An experiment I’m glad I tried and hoped would work. I was dependent on those 141 USA goals which I thought I would be from the start as there are some nice games in North America.

Supported superbly by Reyna and Musah in a strikerless triple threat, the guys have hit 1891 and well on course for 2k.

Reyna now has 446 goals and has hit his assist target and is sat on 508. Looking good for the split 1k.

As soon as Reyna hit 500 assists I moved Musah onto some set pieces in the hope he signs a new deal and give him a chance of 500 assists. He is already on 442 goals so that shouldn’t be an issue, the assists could be a big ask. However first he needs to sign a new deal.

Season 15

First things first Musah wouldn’t sign a new deal and joined Chievo on a free on about 10% of the money I was offering. Anyway, I really wanted a crack at getting him the split 1k so I chucked £98m and bought him straight back!

 

Once we secured Musah’s future the priorities this season were goals for Reyna and assists for Musah. Reyna got the golden boot in the 2034 World Cup and at club level we won everything.

Although McKennie didn’t play this season I have included his profile and stats below. I was going to use him as the odd sub but I decided to blood some younger players instead.
 

 

I kept it strikerless this season but moved both Reyna and Musah central and dropped a player deeper as only needing the two to score/assist. It worked really well as a SS/AM combo. 

Reyna now just needs 4 goals for his split 1k so that’s all but done, Musah has just crept over the 500 goals mark too. Therefore it’s really all down to whether I can get Musah another 182 assists in the 4 seasons I have left. With 49 assists last season the signs are promising. 
 

If I can get him over the line it will be a strikerless 1k and 2 x split 1k’s in this career.

Two season update here. 
 

Season 16

First up this season we finished the Gold Cup with the USA and I then stood down. I no longer needed the goals and it enabled me to concentrate fully on the assists for Musah. We got USA to a very respectable 4th place in the world rankings.

 

Here’s the guys on the day I resigned. 

 

As posted when I got the job McKennie started on 11 goals, Reyna 30 and Musah 8 so the international goals they finished on helped massively in this career.

For Juve we got knocked out of the CL in the quarters but won everything else.

Season 17

Back to winning ways this season with a clean sweep.

Here’s how the guys are looking and their stats for the last two seasons. It is all centred around Musah now, with Reyna chipping in occasionally and McKennie just a squad member.

I tweaked things to try and get everything running through Musah and it seemed to work. If anything he’s scoring too many goals but can’t complain, 57 and 49 assists in the last two seasons. 

Musah now needs 76 more assists to get his split 1k and join Reyna in that club. He has two years left on his contract so injuries permitting I’m hopeful it can be done!

Season 18

76 assists required for Musah’s split 1k.

On the pitch we won everything bar the Super Cup.

Here’s how they look, with their attributes now declining pretty quickly.

Despite the fall in attributes another good season with 48 assists, leaving us just 28 more to get. Stay reasonably injury free and he should nail it in season 19.

 

Honorary mention to Weston McKennie who finally retired with a monster 1003 goals and 163 assists. What a career!

Season 19

Final season of this career! First up the summary of the season, where we fell at the semi final stage of the CL but won everything else.

Here’s my manager summary and trophy cabinet at the end of the season.

Also a special mention to my son, who despite looking really poor when he first came through actually turned into a top notch right back.

 

Now a look at the two players left. Musah was the main guy, Reyna more a back up player. Crucially Musah got those last few assists he needed to get his split 1k!

In summary,

2161 goals for the strikerless TT.

1003 goals and 163 assists for Weston McKennie.

546 goals and 584 assists for Giovanni Reyna.

612 goals and 511 assists for Yunus Musah.
