Career Salford City F.C - Rise to glory

So I’ve decided to make a lower league career, it wasn’t meant to be a career thread but I’m having so much fun with this one, that I feel I have to share.

The team I have decided to manage are as you can guess from the title, Salford City F.C, a team sitting in the national league north. The sixth tier of English football.

Not given a lot to work with financially, I had to rely on loans and free transfers during the first season. ( forgot to screenshot transfers as I wasn’t planning on making a thread)

Not many screenshots at all from the first season I’m afraid guys, but we did manage to clinch top spot in the league and secure promotion in our first season in charge. Very lucky to do so actually because our league form from January onwards was dreadful.

Into the second round of the F.A cup the furthest the club have ever been in its history (look it up ?)

Into the third round now where one of the premier league big boys could potentially await us.

Surprise surprise. We do get a premier league giant in the third round, an away trip to the Emirates await us.....

Humbled. Arsenal just too good at this stage of the career for us, we managed to score twice with our only shots on target however which just shows what we are capable of.

A really decent first season. Like I said, wasn’t planning on making a thread but have really enjoyed this career so far. Season 2 has been completed now also, more screenshots for that one than the first.

Considering the supposed gap in class, that scoreline against Arsenal is still pretty good

To be honest I was happy to score twice against them. There was probably like a 100 places between us and them at the time so it wasn’t an embarrassing result at all

Just start with a basic 4-4-2 mate, not gonna PM my tactics because I’m actually having a lot of fun with this one and don’t want to risk it getting nerfed ?

Season 2

After a successful first season which has seen us promoted to the Vanarama National League, this season i was looking to build a team capable of securing back to back promotion. Hopefully at the end of the year we would be a football league team.

Transfers

A fair few amount of incoming transfers this summer as our squad depth was severely lacking in almost every position.

We lost ‘Super’ Jordan Brown to Barnsley for a measly £60k. That big club release clause really came back and bit us on the a**e!

His stats from last season prove how important he was for us.

Vanarama National

I forgot to take a screenshot of the final league table, but we absolutely bossed this league, and can now look forward to playing in the fourth tier of English football next season.
