Career Berisha's Final Swansong (Season 4) The End

So, i am back with another short challenge which will last a maximum of 5 seasons. It is again one of my own:

So, in a nutshell i take charge of Western Utd, the newest team in Australian A-League and take the all time leading A-League goalscorer, Besart Berisha to his final tally before he retires. I will be back with the first season soon.

I find it makes for a nice challenge using older strikers, totally different experience to using youngsters who you know will more than likely go on to improve.

Thanks Ian. It definitely is an interesting challenge. I was actually searching the web for creating some challenges with older strikers when i came across this man. We will see how it goes.

Season 1

Being the newest club, we didn't really have a decent transfer budget so we needed to sell some of our big earning players to free the wages.

And then got a host of players to build a decent team. Inman and Kamau are the two wingers who i predict will go on to be stars for the team.

 

League Performance

We finished 3rd in our debut A-League regular season with Berisha storming towards the Golden Boot, 11 goals ahead of the next contender. Inman also finished on top of the assists chart. There was no cups this season.

He was in tremendous form this season, netting 34 goals from 27 matches, 1.25 goals per game. He also picks up the POTY.  Also, more importantly, we re-sign him for another 5 years.

Season 2

Finally, a big sale as Pasquali was sold to Rapid Vienna for 1.6 mil. All others were let go to free up some more wadges.

Sutton was brought in to replace the outgoing Kurto while we added some quality players (at least for this level) in every position. Cyrus is someone who i have seen playing for my local team, Mohun Bagan and i was impressed so it was more of a nostalgic buy.

 

Season History

Brilliant season as we pick up our 1st ever premiership as well as championship in only our second season. We exited pretty early in the FA Cup and AFC Champions League though.

 

League Performance

We scored 70 goals from 26 matches - 2.7 goals/game and Berisha and Inman shared the main duties, scoring 25 and 13 goals respectively. We also had a handsome representation in the assist chart. We also had Macarthur FC join the league as a new club, making this 12 team strong.

Berisha got braces in both the matches but could not stop his side from losing.

I won the MOTY while Inman took the POTY following Berisha who won it last year.

He still goes over a goal a game with 33 from 31 and even managed 12 assists. What a player he is turning out to be!!!!

Just one player sold after winning both the A-League premiership and championship?? The whole league has gone nuts if they are not looking for players from a champion side.!!!

Season History

We defended both our League and Finals title but fared pretty badly in the FFA Cup and were pathetic in the Champions League.

Still the highest goal-scoring side in the league and as usual, Berisha won another golden boot with 22 and Inman took pole again with 9 assists.

Only one 3+ match but he managed 4 in that.

Inman scored 45 goals and 35 assists across 3 seasons from 96 matches - 0.83 contributions/match. Not bad for a player who joined us for a mere 190K

He keeps his scoring ratio getting yet another 30 goal season but goes below the 1 GPG mark for the 1st time.

Thanks Foxy. I am hoping for the same although the last campaign was a disaster.

Thanks Kun. He is holding up well so far despite advancing years.

Season 4 (The End)

I will not bore you with details but actually this season i tried a lot of experimenting and handing debuts to reserve players just to test but everything failed so i was sacked.

 

Season Performance

We were languishing in 8th after 22 of 26 matches in the league and also lost in the quarters of the FA Cup. All my tactics fell apart and when i reverted back to my original tactic which had brought me success in the first 3 seasons, everybody's morale was so low that they couldn't perform so the inevitable happened.

 

My stats got worse due to this season.

 

Berisha

He managed 15 goals in 29 appearances crossing the 100 goal mark in this save before i was sacked.

Ya, just fell apart this season due to lot of experiment. Thanks mate and I have something unique in the works.
