Yes,  Canada is a great league for goals and I was actually shocked to see players like Liam Miller of Liverpool, Bobby Wood playing full fledged there and not on loan. Which means you can still attract notable players.

Well yes but Miller I believe is a wonderkid and from being on Liverpool to being in the Canadian league in just 3 years is a big dip for him.

We pick up our second CPL title in as many seasons with as many clubs. Canadian Championship once again finished with us getting mauled by Toronto FC yet again. The MLS teams are a cut above us.

Season 6

Still can't get a job in Argentina or MLS so back to Mexican Expansion League but the good news is that promotion and relegation are now active so extra motivation is there to take charge of the second division clubs:

We were the best scoring team of the league by far and finished second.

The semi-final was a thrilling affair over two legs with end to end goal fest but injury to our star striker Lucumi meant we lost the edge in finals and ultimately got defeated handsomely.

 

Clausura

 

Keeping my record intact, i won the Clausura and also won promotion to the 1st division. My first one for the Neil Warnock Promotion Challenge.

 

EL Champions Trophy

Again keeping my record unblemished for the Champions Trophy. No awards in Mexico so sadly i can't get any points from them.

 

Top 3 Players

Our freebie did the job with 12 goals and 18 assists from 52 matches.

 

Our most expensive signing at 60K justified his price with 14 goals and 18 assists from CAM position, playing as AP.

 

I may have unleashed a monster here. This Colombian netted a huge 66 goals from 47 matches with performances like this:

So, we continue our journey in the land of Messi & Maradona and also strive to qualify for the World Cup with Ecuador:

Brought in a whole lot of players as our existing squad was total shit.

 

League Performance

We struggled and struggled and almost ran out of contention but then we managed to win 5 of our last 6 games, losing only to 1st placed Colon to climb up to second and win a promotion.

Only a single award as Barreto wins the Golden Boot.

Our second most expensive buy of the season at 210K did his part with 13 goals and 6 assists  @ AvR of 7.44

 

As is the norm, our freebie Cristian Zabala re-trained himself as a right IF and provided the bulk of assists.

 

For a change, one of our existing players shined, Jose Barreto who turned himself into a fan favorite with 27 goals from 37 matches.

 

Ecuador

With 4 games to go, we were hanging on to the last qualification place:

We managed to hold on to that final place with 2 wins, a draw and a loss to Brazil. The win against Chile was the most important one as we were separated by a solitary goal difference before that game.

Just caught up on this Kane and great work. Interesting to see the different leagues, need to try some myself. The concept as whole (ie the Americas) is great! Fantastic work, great write up.

Thanks Scratch. It has been an enjoyable journey so far. The problem with USA is their season starts differently as with Mexico and Argentina so most of the jobs come when i am in the midst of the season.
