Season 6

The season started with a shocker. Zirkzee wanted a new challenge, and asked to be transfer listed. I said no and offered him a new contract. Fortunately he accepted the offer and have not complained since.

Not much to report here. Pretty happy with my squad, so only signed two regens as backups.

Bayern

Won everything again. The season started with CWC where I defeated Liverpool in the final after extra time. 
98 points in the league is most for me, however the number of goals and goal difference could not compete with last season. 
The Champions League final was an all German matchup between me and Dortmund. And a repetition of the 2013 final. Dortmund outplayed med, but could not handle Zirkzee (as many others).

Holland

The national team is good, but much dependent on few players such as De Ligt, De Jong, Gravenberch, Braaf and Zirkzee. 
This season was all about World Cup qualification, which was not a problem at all. In the group stage I won against both Costa Rica (4-0) and Senegal (5-2). And then the season ended. More to follow...

Zirkzee and stats

Zirkzee finished the (club) season with career-high 120 goals in 60 games. The goals per game ratio were a little lower than season 4, but that is not keeping me up at night. 
He “only” scored 67 league goals, which is lower than season 4 (72) and season 5 (71). However he scored a record 26 Champions League goals. 
For Holland he added 17 goals in 10 games. 
Sané had another great season, but the whole team is performing well. Especially Camavinga has developed to a world class player. 
The main concern at the moment is that my wingers Sané and Coman both are 30 years old now. They are still world class though, so going with them for another season (I think).

Conclusion

Zirkzee finished the season with a record of 137 goals in 70. Another amazing season, although the goals per game ratio is dropping a bit from the two previous seasons. 
The total amount of goals are now 668, and hopefully he will reach the 1000 goals within 3 seasons.

Struggled a bit finding time to play FMM lately. But managed to finish season 7 and 8 over the last week. 
 

Season 7

Transfers

Not much fun here. Sold Goretzka and a regen Latza, who were third choice at central defender behind Upamecano and Nianzou.

Bayern

Once again I won everything. Again unbeaten in the league, but 6 draws is a bit too much. 
In Champions League I beat Chelsea in the final.

Holland

The season started with the World Cup, where we were defending champions. 
We won our group easily beating Costa Rica (4-0) and Senegal (5-2) in the process. Not any problems in second and third round either beating New Zealand (3-0) and Cameroon (2-0). In the quarter final I managed to beat Portugal 1-0 in a very close contest. We were on to the semis against Germany, which I thought was my hardest game so far. I was wrong. We played absolutely great and won 7-0 with Zirkzee scoring 5 goals. In the final we were up against a very good USA team. And we were outplayed the whole game. Luckily for me, they were not able to manage Zirkzee, who scored a hattrick in a 3-2 victory. 
We won the World Cup back to back for the first time since Pelé and Brazil in 1962. Zirkzee scored 16 goals in the competition beating Just Fontaine record (13 goals in 1958).

Zirkzee and stats

Zirkzee is still going strong. For Bayern he finished the season with 109 goals in 55 games. For Holland he added 26 goals in 15 games. 
Ander and Sané were the main assisters. Ander is now first choice over Coman. Also I think this is the last season for Sané, because his crossing is decreasing.  Crossing for wingers and wingbacks are the most important stat in my tactic.

 Conclusion

Zirkzee finished with 135 goals in total, which is his second best total in a season. The goals per game ratio continue to drop a bit, but nothing to worry about. 
He is now on 803 goals in total, needing only two seasons to reach the 1k (hopefully).

Season 8

For the second time Zirkzee handed in a transfer request. He wants new challenge. This time he would not accept a new contract. Luckily he is on contract in both season 9 and 10. So should be enough be make 1k goals.

Bought two players. Valery (a regen) to replace Coman as backup winger. And Miranda to replace Alphonso Davies as wingback. I decided to let Davies play as winger, which wasn’t a bad idea.

Bayern
Won everything again. 33 wins and 1 draw in the league 👀. 
In Champions League we beat Juventus in the final in penalties after being outplayed. This has happened a few times in this career. But somehow I always manage to win.

Not much fun here. Qualified easily to the euros, and played two games in the competition before the new season.

Zirkzee and stats

Got a little bored in this season, so started to play around with my formation from time to time. I think this caused Zirkzees goals to decrease a bit. However he managed to score 103 club goals in 55 games. He added 19 goals in 10 games for Holland. 
Alphonso Davies played very good as winger providing 32 assists. Ander on the other wing were also great, with an average rating on 8,08, which is second after Zirkzee (9,25 👀).

Conclusion

Zirkzee ended the season with 122 goals in 65 games, which is satisfying. 
He has scored 925 goals in 528 games in total, so only 75 goals to go...

Zirkzee is such a great prospect at an already good club. It was a save I was really looking forward to trying out. 

Are you planning on continuing or will you call it a day at 1k?

Good question. I think I might take a break (at least) from this career after 1k, and try some shorter challenges/badges.

Thanks. Getting the international job that early was a huge factor. Both the extra goals, but also the fact that I control his gametime during international breaks. He is never returning tired to Bayern

Only just getting around to reading this. It's pretty epic man. I've always thought about using Zirkzee but he has a relaxed attitude so that puts me off slightly. Repeat 100 goal seasons mean obviously you're getting the best out of him. Great stuff! No doubt, you'll have your 1kc next season. 👏

I have the same feeling towards Zirkzee too. He's definitely one of the best young strikers in the game (ie Haaland level, but random in each save) and he's strong in the air (which I like), but he has a slight attitude problem (from memory stiffled by the culture?), so I avoid him.

Maybe that's wrong and it doesn't make as much difference as I think it might... Because there's sure some goals in the lad...

I have used him in one of my tactic tests. Was brilliant for two seasons then seriously slacked off for the third. No apparent reason for it as I altered very little personnel wise and nothing tactically. That's what's impressing me about Raven's effort. As you say. He seems to be different in every save so maybe I just got a poorer version of him?

When players are generated for a new save, youngsters such as him get a random Potential Ability based on their default - it can be a little higher than the default or a little lower. His default PA is pretty high, so he's likely to generate in the 4 star to 5 star range (real PA, not what the staff report). But while the PA changes, the starting CA doesn't and from what I've seen the hidden attributes (such as Professionalism, Work Rate, Consistency, etc) don't change either. 

So if you did get a poorer version of him, then as far as I'm aware, he's only poorer in terms of PA, which isn't likely to make him stop scoring after two great seasons. I think it's more likely just something in the enviroment triggered his slight professionalism or work rate (or whatever his problem is) and he slacked off. Maybe his CA improved to the point where he thinks he's better than the team. Or something like that. 

Anyway, I'm probably over-explaining! And in Raven's thread too. 🤦‍♂️🙂

Thanks alot. Have not used him in a long term save before, so haven’t noticed his attitude problems. Maybe I was just lucky this time .

Season 9

The season started very good. After being unhappy most of last season, I managed to extend Zirkzees contract for 5 years. 
Needed 75 goals to reach 1k. Should be done easily, but not going to spoil it already.

Again a quite boring transfer window. Breitfelder is so far the best player from my academy, and he made me sell Baro, who never became more than a backup for me.

Formation og players

Thought I would go through my formation and key player very briefly. Hope you are interested. Otherwise just scroll further down...

My formation is a overload 1-2-3-3-1 but changed the instructions a little bit from time to time. But the main objective has always been lots of crosses. I have uploaded screenshots of my most used players in season 9. My key players were:

Donnarumma: After Neuer retired I turned to Donnarumma. A move I did not regret. Amazing keeper.

Nianzou: Surprisingly he ended up as my best central defender. Great player with fine pace, which I like at the back.

Hakimi: Took over Kimmich’s place. Great wingback. Big fan of his crossing abilities (19)
Camavinga: absolute monster. Maybe my best player besides Zirkzee. A must buy in long term saves in my opinion.
Gravenberch: He really autoriser me. Started as a backup, but developed really nice, took his Pedri’s place. 
Alphonso Davies: started as wingback, but moved further up the field, when Sané started to decline. Amazing player. 19 in crossing and 20 in dribling 👀. 
Ander Barretnexea: An assist machine. Was backup for Coman, but gained more and more gametime. Great winger. 
Zirkzee: No further explonation needed...

Former key players: For many season Neuer, Kimmich, Goretzka, Coman and Sané were performing outstanding for me.

Bayern

Another great season. No league losses, and 3 draws. 
Finished with an all-German Champions League final. Bayer 04 could not handle Zirkzee, who had his best game of the season scoring 5 goals in a 8-0 victory.

Holland

Started the season with the European Championships. The only competition we have not won. 
Having no problems before the Quarter Finals against my local rivals, Belgium. Beat them 6-3 in a great game, where Chong stole the show for once with a hattrick. 
In the Semi Final we defeated England 3-0 in a one sided match. 
Portugal was my opponent in the final. This time Zirkzee was back on top scoring 3 goals. We won 5-2 helped by a red card from Bayern player Florentino Luis. European Champions 👏. Zirkzee won the Golden boot scoring 15 goals. 
Ended the season winning the International League over Germany and 7-1 in a friendly vs. Brazil.

Zirkzee and stats

Zirkzee started a bit slow (after his standards). Once again I changed team instructions a bit, and in the second part of the season I found something or maybe Zirkzee just found form. Nevertheless he scored 51 goals in the last 20 games 👀. 
He ended up with 114 goals for Bayern in 55 game matching his best club goal ratio. For Holland he added 25 goals. 
Davies and Ander had a great season again. Ander having 34 assists in 36 games...

Conclusion

The 139 goals in this season is a record for Zirkzee. Amazing season. 
His goal total after 9 seasons is 1064 and he reached the 1k aim already. Quicker than I ever dreamed about. 
Some facts: 

• Zirkzee has scored 552 Bundesliga goals beating Gerd Müllers (365) record easily 
• Zirkzee has scored 187 Champions League goals. Ronaldo has 132 goals to date.
• Zirkzee has scored 168 international goals. Van Persie has the Dutch record with 50 goals. Ali Daei has the global record with 109 goals.
• After winning Coach of the Year 8 times in a row Diego Simeone was finally beaten by... Pep Guardiola

Next?

So what now? Considering a few options. Currently consider to play a season more. Would like to see if Zirkzee excellent finish to the season was luck. Also considering trying my tactic in another save, maybe the Ronaldo badge. Finally I could also try something completely else. Want to try playing with more than 1 forward.
