Career Scratch Tries Shield of Justice 1 - MSN

I've just finished Quest 01: The goals of MSN which is part of the Shield of Justice series.

I don't have time to write each of the 3 seasons up separately, so I'll do a quick 3 season write up here.

Basically, I had to score as many goals as I could using 3 strikers (1 striker in the first season, 2 in the second and 3 in the third). My choices were Martin Satriano, Gianlucca Scamacca and Darwin Nunez. 

 

Transfers

No gonna go through them all, I'll just put all the screenshots in the spoiler tag. I made a whole bunch of signings to improve the squad, biggest signing was probably KDB in season 2, but he probably did take too many goals away from the lads.

Tactics

I used variations of my TT Blaster system, basically following that philosophy, but varying the formation depending on how many strikers I had.

For the first season when there was only 1 striker, I used this (though I forgot the screenshot so this is the 3rd season squad):

The Lads

Here's what they looked like at the end - all great, though it has to be said Nunez didn't look that good for most of the final season (Shooting and Movement both 17):

 

Injuries

Had a fantastic run, with minimal injuries. Both Satriano and Scamacca have the Very Rarely Injured tag, which is one of the reasons I love them.

Satriano was entirely injury free, Scamacca had two injuries in his two seasons (10 days and 3 weeks) and Nunez had a 10 day injury as well. Been a while since I've been this lucky.

 

Goals

Well this is what we're here for, let's see how the lads went:

• Satriano was excellent through out, scoring exactly 200 goals over his 3 seasons at the club. A true legend!
• Scamacca also did very well with 95 goals over 2 seasons. Not quite as many as I hoped for, especially as he took penalties in season 2 and was on corner tap in duty for the last 1.5 seasons (Satriano took the first 1.5 seasons). I've had him end up with better attributes before too - I think basically getting him in the 2nd season means it's slightly too late for his development.
• Nunez scored 30 goals in his single season. Not bad in reality, but quite disappointing given he was on pens and free kicks for that season. I haven't used him before and was expecting more to be honest. 

Anyway, that adds up to 325 goals in total. @Rob can you please add me to the leaderboard when you get time? Thanks! This was a fun one BTW, good to finally use a club which can buy top players!

Fantastic! I knew you'd use some crazy formations. Didn't let me down. 😂

Love the player choices and those are some really good numbers, even if Darwin was a bit of a let down.

Thanks mate! I think I should experiment a bit more with formations and see if I can get some more realistic ones working. I'm stuck in FMM20 or something. It still works really well, but not quite as good as last year,

Can't wait to see your total. You've got 1.5 times what I got in the first season, so you are lining up for a massive total.

I've always used more conventional shapes because they work for me. I doubt I could create such a "mad" tactic and get the same results as you. Saying that, I've gone really gung-ho for the 3 up front part of this challenge. I'm slowly trying new things and also starting to tweak things during games which I've never done. Can't really tell if it's helping that much but it may be adding a goal or two extra here and there.

It's understandable that Lautaro would get a few more goals as he's almost fully developed straight away. I doubt I could score that many goals with Satriano in my first season using my tactic.

Yeah, I think when I came up with the TT Blaster a couple of years ago it worked really well and it was harder to get that many goals with 'normal' tactics - but I feel like it's not quite as effective as it was and I see people doing really well with more normal tactics and I wonder if it's time to try something more normal...

Yeah, I almost went with him. Probably should have, because I haven't used him this year. But I know from behind the scenes that he's not that professional this year, so am a bit nervous that using him will not live up to the expectations I have of him after being so glorious last year.

Plus, I really love Scamacca as well!

Actually, Inter are favourites to sign Scamacca in the summer, so if they keep all their loaned out players, they will have Scamacca, Esposito, Satriano, Salcedo, not to mention too of my past 1KC players Pinamonti and Colidio... There's gotta be a save in that somewhere!

No way. It will be a 5x1KC with a split 1K from Salcedo and I will be well on track to complete it in 16 seasons and then I will get bored with it and leave it...

Not sure how I got Goretzka for that now. I know I unsettled a lot of players but failing with the first bid, but seems unlikely he'd have been unsettled. I did use all the other tricks of the trade, like offering way lower with 50% sell on to see what their real minimum price was and then offering 66% of that with 50% sell on.

Anyway it was a lot of fun, can't wait to see what you come up with next!
