Career Foxy Presents: Double Trouble in Barcelona - Season Seven

I moved onto season 4 hoping that RaDa could break the 100 goal mark this season after last year’s total of 90.

Transfers

I bought an awful lot of players with high potential this year as I look to make sure we have good players coming through that won’t cost the earth to buy in the future or will end up at my competitors. I did splash the cash on some more creative midfielders so I could rotate them through the season as we have the potential to play 65 games in all competitions and we play 2 games a week for almost the entire season. This meant I signed Tom Davies and Mahmoud Dahoud, plus I added Niklas Stark to the squad to be a defensive utility man as he can play DC,DM and CM.

I sold Kingsley Coman, Sergi Roberto, Jose Giminez and Kostas Manolas as all of them wanted to play more football than I could offer them.

 

Competitions

We had another clean sweep this year as we won all the trophies we had up for grabs. We where pushed all the way to penalties in the Champions League final by Frankfurt after we conceded at 90^th minute equaliser. In the league we scored our lowest total of goals as a team in the save so far. I think there are two reasons for this 1. Teams park the bus against us and that includes teams looking for Champions League places 2. I am trying to reduce the amount of goals that other players in the team score in an attempt to maximise RaDa’s goals.

We start off with a couple of annoying injuries that happened this season. The first was early on as Rashford missed a month of games with a thigh strain and then towards the end of the season Davis got injured and also missed 3 weeks before coming back and scoring twice in our final league game only to injure himself in training the day before the Champions League final.

 

This meant we matched last seasons total of 90 goals. It is frustrating that they had those injuries as we almost certainly would have got to 100 goals without them but injuries are part of the game and I just need to suck it up and keep going.

 

I think RaDa are about as good as they are going to get now although Davis stats dropped a little at the end of the season due to those two injuries so hopefully they will go back up in pre-season.

To be honest when I have a tactic I think is worth sharing I will. The problem is that I have a very good team having a net transfer spend of £400m+ during this save. I don't think I have a killer tactic, more a killer squad with a solid tactic. If that makes sense

So you basically developed your own tactic and style and figured out which one suits best to your needs and players? I have never done this myself I always look at inspiration from the tactics shared by users in this forum and only make a little tweak.

Pretty much yes. The tactic I use is specific to the challenge I am trying to do and the fact that I need my strikers to score lots and my other players not to score as many. I haven't tested it with other teams so I don't know how well it would work with other teams.

It's fun to build your own tactics and very satisfying when they work. when you build from other people tactics its a very great way to start learning what works and what doesn't.

Fox is right, there's nothing more satisfying than that. One of the things I enjoy most about this game is testing tactics. You could start with a standard 4-4-2, push the FBs up to WB in the next game, give em a new role in the next and see how that goes, drop a striker as an SS for example, next couple of games try different role combinations with that AMC and FC. Same for the 2 (or 3 CMs). Look at each individual performance as well as how effective they function as a group etc etc it's easily the most fun about the game. Unless you can't find a working formation after hours of experimenting ?

I think both lads have a little more to give and then we will hit the 100 mark.

We continue my quest to get Marcus Rashford and Keinan Davis to score over 1200 goals between them during their career. My goal for this season was for RaDa to break the 100 goals in the season.

With that in mind I took a little time to test a new tactic. My previous 442 diamond has got us a diecent amount of goals for this challenge but I want more from these lads and I felt a change could bring more. We have been very dominant in both domestic and European competitions and I felt I could see a way of using other teams fear of us against them. So what is this mystery tactic?

 Transfers

The biggest departure this season isn’t shown on the outs screenshot for some reason but Messi left at the end of his contract. I offered him a coaching job as he had announced his retirement , which he accepted but then Bayern came in for him and he went to them on a free. I replaced him with Lewendowski also on a free, I need someone to backup RaDa and it seems pointless having a wonderkid as backup because they will never play often enough so I am going to use very good players who are nearing the end of their careers. I brought in two full backs with Pereira and Baba Rahman joining to provide competition to Guerreiro and Henrichs. I needed someone to play as a wide playmaker who had good teamwork so @BatiGoal favourite Kai Havertz joined. I do have De Bruyne but his low teamwork means he tends to like to shoot and with his ability score which is no good for this challenge. Renato Sanches was on the transfer list and I couldn’t resist bringing him because lets face it you can nver have too many midfielders... can you?.  

 

 

Competitions

We have won everything in the last 3 seasons but this year we had the shock of losing a final. OK it was only the European Super Cup at the beginning of the season as the lads got used to the new tactic but it was still annoying. The World Club Cup didn’t produce as many goals as I would have liked as with the quality of teams you play I had hoped for perhaps 10 goals for RaDa. We did have our best league season so far with 106 points and 111 goals scored.

Wonderkids

I brought in a lot of youngsters last season and two started to find themselves on the bench this season. I don’t know who these guys are regens of because I actually don’t care. I would prefer to think of them as new players and not just renamed versions of old guys. I don’t know if these lads will become features in my first team over the next couple of years as they both don’t have great teamwork but I will keep them as they develop and see if that can improve.

 

 

RaDa

This is what matters could the lads get 100 goals for the season?

 

YES! 105 goals for the season as both lads had their best goal scoring seasons so far. Davis missed some games through injury but he still managed to contribute with a healthy 41goals and 22 assists.

That’s season 5 done and it was a really positive one as we break the 100 goals. I hope that they can continue this form or score even more as they are now starting to get into their prime at 24 years old.

I wanted to get a quick RaDa update in before I embark on my H2H versus @PriZe. Last season the lads broke the 100 goal barrier and I expected nothing less this season.

Transfers

This was simply a case of replacing the lads that wanted to leave for first team football and making sure that I had two top players in every position. I did a major Wenger this season as I didn’t renew the contracts of De Bruyne, Dembele or Goretzka and they were able to leave on free transfers although only Goretka was a first choice in the team it would have been nice to get money for them but I took my eye of the ball there. Heurelho Rodrigues is a regen and came in from Real Sociedad as much to weaken them as strengthen myself although he is a very good player and very versatile as well especially now I have trained him to be a left back.

 

 

Competitions

We had another clean sweep domestically but after four straight Champions League wins we lost the final to Atletico. The biggest worry with this is that it means we miss the World Club Cup next season which is two less games against weaker sides.

 Its same again as we get 105 goals between the two. Neither players had such a good season this year when you consider they went the whole year injury free with only one missed game between them all season. I actually think I over played them this season and that a couple of games off may have seen them fitter and score a few more goals as both lads had a dip in form towards the end of the season.

It is likely this will take a little break whilst I try and beat Vibes tame Panda in our H2H as I doubt I will have much time to play this. A little break from a save is always good though and hopefully when I get back to this I will be refreshed and ready to go again.
