Career 500 Goals with average wonderkids-Polish edition

QUICK INTRODUCTION.

Welcome to part 1 of what i hope to be a series of quick and exciting careers. After seeing all the different careers everyone is doing, i felt like i should join in too. New content is always welcome here right?

Anyway one thing I've realized with many of the recent careers and challenges is that they're mainly focused around wonderkids like Moise Kean, Isak, Arp and big clubs. 

So I thought why not use a lesser known player, the kind of player your scouts would say 'doesn't have a future at the club'. And so i began my career. Honestly, i wanted to do a 1k challenge at first but quickly realized it would be super exhausting to push it that far, so i settled for 500 goals. And to be real, 500 goals is still a great achievement that only a minute fraction of footballers ever achieve.

THE CLUB.

Lech Poznań, a club where Robert Lewandowski got his breakthrough before making his move to BVB. Honestly the main reason i chose them was because they are one of the best clubs in the league.

THE PLAYER.

Who is he? I have absolutely no idea. Some googling reveals that he is a semi decent prospect playing for a second divison team. I only chose him because he has all the stats to grow into a decent poacher who can get the goals. Plus he is just 16 which means i should be able to hit my target by his mid 20s.

Give me about 10 mins to write up my 1st season review.

SEASON 1.

Don't trust the picture above, for some weird reason i could only see how the league tables were until the table got split into championship and relegation tables.(Which is a thing in poland where the top 8 and the bottom 8 teams get seperated in to two groups to play the last 7 games of the season.) League season went pretty well, with me winning one cup and the league.

So enough about that, how did Marchewka, or Chewie as i like to call him, do?

Here's a side by side of him from the start of the season to the end. Wow 10k to 2M.

Had a few hat tricks here and there.

However some thing weird happened,

After i got the message about him napping in training, his personality changed from normal to relaxed and his stats took a hit. Hmm, i wonder if this has happened to anyone else.

Now, on to the goal tally.

I'm terribly sorry, but I don't have any pictures for his history.

I must have forgotten to take a screenshot, so I'll just type it out.

30 GOALS IN 41 GAMES.

Yes i know that isn't really impressive, but he is just 16/17 and its still enough for the 500 goal challenge I'm going for. Plus i did much much better in my second season.

Now on to my rock in defense,

I highly highly recommend this player to anyone looking for a solid defender as he was a free agent. That's right, for just 10-15k per week you too can get an absolute rock in defense.

 

And of course here are some manager stats,

a 100 goals in 1 season is not too bad.

i think that about sums up my first season. If there's anything i could improve on i would love to hear some feedback from you guys on how to do things better as this is my first career I've posted on here.

SEASON 2.

I was going through my screenshots when i realized i was missing quite a few pictures. So this will be a pretty quick update since i have nothing to flesh out this season.

Overall my team did pretty well domesticall, winning two cups and the league 

Was kicked out of Champions Cup by Inter...

And then Roma kicked me out of Europa league.

So how did chewie do?

Almost 60 games, Almost 60 goals! A huge improvement.

He was transfer-listed and i wanted a world class keeper.(in about 5 seasons.)

SEASON 3.

Still missing some screenshots, really sorry about that. 😞 

 

Once again this was a pretty good season domestically, with me winning the league unbeaten and getting two trophies.

My European run was great, making it to the quarter-finals before being kicked out by Man Utd

So how did Bart Marc(two first names!)do?

A few hattricks here and there, even got capped by poland at just 18/19!

A pretty decent season with him netting a cool 50 goals.

Now i don't have any screenshots of his attributes, but by the end of the season he started to show some green with his shooting growing to 15.

Now how about the rest of the squad?

Not really key players but here's a small detail i noticed.

Two players i signed independently(Gül on a bosman at the start of the second season, and Saglam in the winter window of the 3rd season IIRC.) ended up being quite close to each other.

Although it seems like i changed that...

As for key players, i got two.

First up is swedish international Niklas Barkoth

My main winger getting all the assists this season.

Second up is a young talent who's been with the club since the very start. I don't have any screenshots of him this season but trust me when i say he is absolutely world class. All i know is, his name is Kamil Jozwiak.

Here are some (almost) pointless manager stats. Added another 150 goals!

As always, any guidance/tips & tricks you guys want to share is always welcome.

SEASON 4.

Boy these seasons do go by quite fast don't they? Anyway, here's a quick overview.

Domestically did quite well(as usual, maybe I should just skip my domestic results...). Was hit by two league losses though, so not perfect.

Europe was...

Well what can i say. Group of death and all that. Not even Europa League for me.  

Oddly i was still the leading scorer at the time i was kicked out. Thanks to all those qualifying rounds no doubt.

So how did my main man Chewie do?(Finally got a pic of his attributes, they're great!)

Well he had a couple of minor injuries, one at the start of the season and another near the end. Both kept him out for almost a month.

Looks like he's graduated from hattricks to...what do you call those? Double braces?

And here's how he looks now.

18 shooting with 15 dribbling and decisions, now that's what i call a poacher!

Finally averaging a goal a game, unfortunately didn't get to play as much as i wanted him to due to the injuries and international duty(which was annoying as he almost never scores in those).

An absolute madlad this man! Always a great influence in the backroom, his ribena cocktails(non alcoholic of course) is to die for.

Anyway on to key players. I've got two, the same two as last season actually.

Here's Barkoth:

Leading in assists once again. Absolutely brilliant!

And here's the greatest player i've had so far:

His dribbling is so good they're making youtube videos with terrible eurobeat music(or Despacito).

Did decently stats wise.

Got a big offer

which i turned downwhich, in hindsight probably wasn't the best decision.

Another 150 goals, although i'm not too happy because it seems like I'm not really improving.

SEASON 5.

A season that's pretty similar to the previous ones, except for one thing.

Before we get to who i sold, let's have a quick overview of this season.

Won everything domestically.

 

Now on to europe.

Whelp, looks like another group of death. Really terrible luck.

That was close, really happy to have managed get through that. And the only game i lost was this madness

However my dreams ended there as Man Utd(again!) killed and buried my hopes across two legs in the Ro16.

Now how did Marc do?(spoiler alert!: not so great)

Yep, that's it. Just 37 goals, a long drop from the 57 goals he scored just 2 seasons ago.

Part of it due to 2 injuries that left him out for about 1 month each(again), and part of it due to him just really struggling to find his form infront of goal. In fact I don't think he scored more than 3 goals in any one game this season. Still good enough for the humble target of 500 goals i set though, so I shouldn't complain too much.( well that was kind of rant-ish)

Now onto my team and some key players:

Well first off, i sold him. It just had to be done. Got a decent price of 40 mil for him.(his estimated price when he was with me was 24 mil)

Also sold one of my defenders(whose attributes weren't great but he was highly rated, so i guess he must've had some great hidden attributes.) for 20 mil.

Also brought in two regens for cheap,

Cristiano Ronaldo:

Got him for free actually, right now he is just playing as a impact sub/Marchewka's replacement when he's injured. Looking to sell him for a pretty penny soon.

And Arjen Robben, but I don't have any screenshots of him unfortunately. Got him at age 23 for 5 mil. Retraining him right now to play as a AML(also maybe teach him to start crossing and stop shooting...)

Here are some other key players,

 Barkroth is still leading in assists.

 

Gumny is yet another Lech Poznan wonderkid along with Jozwiak. Did pretty well this season for club and country.

Here's a guy I bought in for depth in my WBL/ML/MC, but he ended up as a starter for my team. He appears to be a regen but I'm not sure whose, found him in the Eridivisie(did I get that right?).

So far pretty happy with my team overall but I still lack the class needed for an European trophy it seems.

Around another 150 goals. Oh, and I also managed to get the board to max out training and youth facilities, talk about a miracle.

I took a short break from updating after suffering through a couple of absolutely horrendous seasons(well they weren't that bad, but i felt i could've done better.)

SEASON 6.

First up, i want to say that i made a HUGE mistake in this season. See, after some lackluster games late last season, i thought maybe i could reinvent myself. You know pull a Conte and breathe some life into a side that was running the risk of becoming stale. I also sold about 1/4 of my first team and forced the team to use a tactic i had only so far used in my head.

Well that went not so well, really affecting the goals i managed to get for that season. Still managed to win the usual domestic trio and did as expected in europe. Now onto the season!

Group of death...yada yada...you know the story.

Two losses to, yep you guessed it!, Real Madrid! Bastards are just plain unstoppable in Europe.

And then my run got cut short by AC Milan(that really sounds like a air conditioning brand. Sorry )

Alright, now on to my star striker.

After a horrible first half of the season, where he only manage about 15 goals in 30, he started picking up the pace around the end of February. However that was exactly when he got injured for 3 weeks(it's always the smae injury too! He's not even injury-prone  )

 

 

Now on to my team.(had some busy transfer windows.)

My CR7 regen.

My other wonderkid.

Now, i sold quite a few more players but this were just the biggest ones. This left me with a budget in excess of 100 million dollars.

Transfers in:

Brought him in to shore up my defense, might be one of my best signings so far.

Have had issues with the left back position since the start. Hopefully this man can put an end to that.

I've been missing a natural left-footed, left winger for a long time now. So here he is, admittedly not a star player but still usefull.

A quick look at my transfers.

Due to my terrible season, no one really stood out this season. So no star players to show you guys.

My man Messi still pulling 20s even as a manager.

At 18 temperament, he clearly can keep his head cool. Unfortunately, can't seem to keep his wallet full.

(strange he's an attacking manager, maybe he got tired of defending?)

By far the best man manager of the lot, really knows how to talk to the boys.

Quick foreword:

Since my seasons recently have become very bad and just plain unenjoyable, I've decided to skip ahead a few years and post a season i did have great success at. Who doesn't love a good little time-skip, right?

SEASON 9.

Yep, it took me 3 years to have a good season. How good?

Pretty good. Took me 9 seasons to bring Lech Poznan to a Champions League title, although to be fair i didn't really face too many tough competition. With only one exception.

While both legs were tough, i got through thanks to a miraculous performance from my Senegalese Mbappe(more on him later).

My league campaign went well, scoring a little over a 100 goals.

Now onto my assassin-in-goal:

An incredible tally of 60 goals in just 47 games. If it wasn't for an injury that took him out for a month there's no doubt this could've been a once in a career type of season. Also his last 3 season weren't so great, not even managing to score 40 goals.

I play him as a advanced playmaker sitting right behind Chewie.

And this guy, who is a real player apparently. Starts off at Newell's Old Boys, but i got him on a bosman from some Italian club.

And now on to my Senegalese Mbappe:

While i did call him the Senegalese Mbappe, it was more to make note of his wonderkid potential.(he was just 18 when he joined the first team) In reality he plays more like a drogba-like target man/poacher.

Some manager stats:

Woo Hoo! World Class reputation and over 1200 goals! With just a little over 500 games played, that's me getting 2 goals a game consistently.(although to be fair i am sort of in a farmers league, with there only being one farmer )

SEASON 10. 

 

well that took awhile but here's my 10 year anniversary, yay!

My season went amazingly

With me winning an astonishing 6 pieces of silverware. Won everything i could play in, bet i would've gone for that second division trophy if they let me.

Had a pretty easy time, a real once in a career season there. Well that obviously means Chewie did well right? 

Let's take a look:

Not as good as his last season, but to be fair that season was a freak. Still a very decent performance that he can be proud of. This season also has his highest tally of assists at 15, which made me realize he has maintained an average of atleast one goal created in every game he's been in.

Now on to my team, which I'd be nothing without:

Look at those 20s!

Almost 30 assists from him this season. Man's handing out chances like he's Mother Theresa.

My complete attacking midfielder package:

And he's just 21! Still plenty of time for him to become the best german midfielder of his time.

And, my Timothy Fosu-Mensah understudy:(might be Kompany's regen)

Really well-rounded. He can play both central defender and full back. And at just 21 with 32 caps, there's no doubt he will become a key player for both club and country. 

Can't believe i got him for under 3 mil when he was just 18.

 

Alright with those out of the way, time for some me time.

Looking to hit 500 wins, 1500 goals and a top 5 manager rank by next season.

I'm rich, but not rich enough to even buy back Gumny or Jozwiak(remember them?)

SEASON 11.5

Well i really thought this would be THE season i would end it at, but it took me another half a season because of these:

those two nearly cost me 20 games and potentially 30 goals.

Well the season itself went pretty okay, not as well as last season though.

Missed out on a Europa title, courtesy of FC Porto.

Now on to the juicy bits.

A really good season from him and without those two injuries, it's possible he could have got over 60 goals this season.

My assists king is still leading in assists, unfortunately he too had an unusual amount of injuries.(i even turned down the training intensity a few seasons ago AND i have a full 3 gold physios, 2 prevention and 1 rehabilitation.)

Season 11 ended just like that, with me just a mere 16 goals from my 500.

Of course i wouldn't stop there.

Once again simply no competition here as Theo Hernandez has been a key player here from the first day he signed.

I once said he could possibly be the best signing I've ever made. And I still stand by that.

While I was considering giving this spot to a more defensive-minded player, all those 20s convinced me otherwise.

After all this years he is still one of the best players I've had. By this point he has established himself as a starter for Real Madrid.

Perfect Crossing, Perfect Dribbling, Perfect Technique and nearly Perfect Physicals. Could you ask for a better winger?

There are some fantastic players in there... Not sure that Pavon in Messi's regen though. Messi has more positions and different feet in my game. It's closer to Aguero - same feet, same positions (although different colour for some). Either way his is a fantastic player who would a good bet for 2K!!
