Season 6

My favourite season this one, which is weird considering this:

Yep, the injuries that started last season seem to have seeped in to this. I can assure you of this: playing a Strikerless formation when your main man is out is no fun. No chance am I adding any side challenges though!

He only played 45 games, which was annoying, but my squad was in its prime. All the top lads were 27/28 and machines. Therefore Felix was a machine. 

Our transfers were squad improvements again. Strengthen in every position.

Here is a few of Felix’s goal hauls:

His goal return was just immense, which led to 163 team goals in the league and a clean sweep of trophies. 

He ended the season with a knock, so his stats don’t look as great. But the most important thing - how many more goals?

85 goals. In 45 games. A +41 goal season. Highest ever average rating in a season I have ever got too. Madness! I’ve been testing Strikerless for a year or so now and I really feel like this season is culmination of it.

431/1000 goals scored.

569 to go. 

On a side note, he reached his ‘425 at the age of 25’ a year early. Hopefully he reaches his ‘750 at the age of 30’ target early too.

It does help subbing him at 70. Seems if he scores 2, which he does often, he tends to get a 10. I didn't even notice the 34 assists either. Basically every player is at their prime - Lemar,  Asensio, Coman, Zivkovic,  Savic, Pogba, etc.

Season 7

After last year’s wonderful season, the bar was set high. 

One big thing happened this season. I got the Portugal job. 

It was my third attempt to get the job, which was frustrating. It doesn’t last long, so don’t get too excited. What I decided to do was log Felix’s opening numbers and then log his numbers when I leave the job, rather than do it by season. So here are his starting numbers:

He starts at 18 goals.

Because of the Portugal job, my transfer had a leaning towards Portuguese players.

It was at this point that I realised how little good the attacking players were that did not have any shade of green in any of the top line! Urgh. I’m also lobbing all my unspent transfer budget from each season in to wages and getting a massive transfer kitty for when I need it... which isn’t far away as people are approaching 30.

Here are some of his goal hauls for the season (including his second double hat-trick)

Which helped us a fairly successful season and a 150 goal league campaign.

Now we have accumulated enough trophies the stadium unlockable has, er, been unlocked:

As for Felix, here is how he looked at the end of the season:

And his goal tally ended 86 in 60 games as we had a fairly injury free year. 

A +26 season. Not as goal gpg as last time, but the same total.

Thanks! That’s the problem - there isn’t much to compare it to, so it may be that this easy this year. Felix is immense though.

Season 8

This was a World Cup year, and I manage Portugal, so I will get to that...

Domestically we slammed 151 goals in the league and only got to the Quarters in the Champs Cup.

Paqueta rejoined on a free, along with Militao. Dias is Portuguese so the plan was to improve him.

Sadly I let Pogba go as he was decreasing rapidly and even more sadly Kehrer left as he wanted first team matches.

And he ended the domestic campaign with a wonderful 78 in 49 games, overcoming a few injuries.

Now, on to the World Cup (which did bleed in to the following season but I will include here). We qualified, which is a start, by winning our relatively simple group. 

The target the Portuguese FA set me was to get to the quarters, which I thought was doable despite not having the best squad once you remove any players with green as a striker and also when you consider my formation. 

And get to the quarters we did... before getting smashed out by Germany. 

Disappointing, but we met our target and Felix got player of the tournament.

I was content, then this happened:

Sacked. Not happy. I then proceeded to get to my first preseason friendly when I realised I hadn’t take a screengrab of Felix since I lost the job to get my international goals. So here it is:

I have noticed there is no date on he screenshot as it doesn’t seem like you get it when doing screens during a game? So if anyone completely objects to my screenshot let me know and I will cobble something else together, but I’m a 35 year old man and have absolutely no reason to lie.

Anyhow, 35 goals in my period of time with him. Genuinely gutted to lose the role of manager as it would have helped, but I guess I will have to do this the hard way with just the league as my main source. If I do get the Portuguese job again I will darn sure have to tweak my tactics which doesn’t help with the goals.
