Career Attempting a 3kc. Wish me luck! (S5)

Hello everybody!

Is it possible to complete a 3kc? @Robasked the question and im one of the few silly enough to give it a go.

This challenge is completely dependant on choice of team as well as player. That's what's taken me so long to get started. I went back and forth on which team would be better to use and in which League. Also, I had a shortlist of 4/5 potential players to use. Finally, I've made my decision;

 

The Club

Seems a bit boring to choose the same club as the other people attempting this challenge but it makes sense to me. They're an obvious choice even though I hate managing them. 

 

The Player

A player i know pretty well as ive completed a 1kc with him this year already, at Lyon. (You can see that here.)

I'm thinking, the younger the player the better but it had to be a player with massive potential and he ticks both boxes. I'm also hoping to use International management to assist my quest. I just believe its an impossible task without.

 

SEASON 1

Transfers:

I always struggle at Celtic. I can't explain why. It's frustrating. I battled on and managed to do some decent business.

I signed McKenna but used him in a deal at the end of the season. Rosas was sold at the end of the season.

Nasty group! Our 2 wins came against group winners, Atalanta. We dropped into the Europa Cup.

 

After defeating Braga & Frankfurt and a decent 1-1 draw in the first leg, Napoli were too good for us.

I couldn't have asked for a better start. Well, I would of liked to get to 100 goals but it wasn't to be.

The updates for this career will probably be short and sweet as I try and breeze through it.

I suppose so. I just hope I chose the right mentor and I can maximise his development. The board won't let me improve the facilities yet even though I have the money sitting there to do so. I have all gold coaches now though, which is massive.

Angelo is a beast, you should be able to pick up brazil in a few years, and 96 clearly shows you know how to use him, 3000 is a crazy number but this looks really well, good luck mate 💪.

Superb start to ur journey of 3kc .

Real life has got in the way slightly which has delayed my playing time somewhat. Darn job! 🤣 I have completed a season though so here's the update;

 

Season 2

Transfers:

More decent business done to add quality behind Ângelo. Still not where we need to be though.

 

Competitions:

Another tough draw. Dortmund beat us twice but we competed well otherwise. Still not good enough to get out of the group yet though.

Going out of the CL was a blessing as we went on to win the Euro Cup. Brugge, Valencia, Roma and a difficult two legs against Barcelona where we came through 5-4 on aggregate. OM put up less of a challenge in the final.

 

 

Ângelo:

We were lucky to go injury free last season but this season was a bit less fortunate. He missed around 5 weeks in total. A 3 week injury during the busy post-Xmas period wasn't ideal.

Still only 18 and looking incredible!

i had a tough time getting him to agree to a new contract. Once he hit 18 i tried nailing him down to a long term contract. He was asking for £225k a week. 🤦‍♂️ No matter how much I messed around with finances I couldn't offer him a quarter of that. I left it until the end of the season and managed to get him to agree to £41k BUT that includes a buyout fee of £75m. That's the maximum he would agree to. Its so frustrating. If a club matches that this challenge could be over if I can't buy him back. 😭

 

Despite the injuries and fewer games than last season he still hit the ton!

I'm seriously concerned about his contract situation. The fact hes started so well and now looks like a player that can destroy the Scottish League for the foreseeable would be devastating if I was forced to scrap this. Time will tell. I'll keep trying to get that buyout to disappear anyway.

I haven't managed to sign all my favourites. Wijndal the obvious one missing. He wouldn't sign. 😭

Chris Mepham looks and plays fantastic! He thrives in big matches too. Roony Bardghji is a gem too. He's been plateaued for a while and he's not fully converted to a winger yet but he's consistently setting up goals from the left.

I love them all really. Ha! Saying that, I'll hopefully make some big changes in the coming season. Depending on funds. Of course.

Cheers, pal. With the right mentor he can reach as high as 18. Which is crazy considering what he starts at! His development will plateau at some stage but usually not for too long and you'll see him develop very quickly after that.

Thanks man. I'm not sure I'll ever hit 178 goals in a season but hopefully I'll get close to the overall target.

I've had another busy week with work and the darn kids being off school (I jest, I love them really 😁). I have finished another season though. Here it is;

 

SEASON 3

Early in the season I received a decent job offer...

Instant reject! 🤣 I need Ângelo at Celtic for his entire career so obviously i need to be here.

 

Transfers:

I'm starting to get used to selling players here now. It might be down to them developing quite well and being desirable to clubs. Either way, I'm happy to build some cash now.

Added some real quality. De Ketelaere, Verschaeren and Almada the standouts. Yan Couto was added in January. I'm trying to prepare for eventually getting the Brazil job. I have a few young Brazilians waiting and developing out on loan too.

I don't have the screenshots for the CL. I thought I did but I can't find them. That's not like me either.

We topped a group of Dortmund, Lyon & Dynamo Kiev. We then beat Inter & Roma before winning the home leg against Liverpool but they beat us in the return keg thanks to an extra-time goal from Origi (🤦‍♂️). That made it 2-0 after a 93rd minute goal to even take it to ET. 😡

 

We lost in the Euro Super Cup to Liverpool also. Only 2-1 so we're nearly at the level to compete with the big boys.

I'm delighted to report an injury-free season! It won't always be that way so we need to make the most of it when it does happen.

Now, he looks very good. The only worry i have is that it says hes unlikely to improve significantly, which is annoying. It might even be the difference between conpleting this massive challenge or not. I think I misjudged his mentoring slightly and even his training a little bit. I can't go back now so I'll just have to roll with it and hope for the best.

He's broken my previous best in a single season by 2 goals. The good thing is, he's 5 years younger than he was when I hit 130 at Lyon.

333 goals at the age of 19 is pretty good.

A great season. Its interesting to see if i can get more out of him now with him unlikely to improve. I need ITN management ASAP! My main aim now is to ignore sentiment and get the best wingers possible.
