This is a great career! Love it, especially that you used Brisbane in Oz (I live there) and then gave Vardy a go too (a favourite player from my one season only 80 goals career). Also, this makes me want to try out some of these leagues.

There not bad leagues to have a go at Oz and Turkey I have done before this year, but this was my first attempt in Poland and it's a decent league if you want to try a 1K

Taff Attempts the "Canis Lupus" Challenge

Season 6

Turkey

So after Vardy gave his all last season I decided it just wasn't enough so wanted another go at getting closer to the 172 target set by @RipRip

So I chose a different (albeit still an older) striker to attempt to do better, ladies and gentleman Taff Jones and the staff at Konyaspor are proud to welcome to the club...

Chile International Alexis Sanchez

So yes another 30+ year old striker but Sanchez still looks the business 

We also went out to strengthen the squad with some savvy spending

Ruben Semedo was the big purchase to sure up our defence, Trasch came in as my new RW, Pucciarelli as a new LB, Biraschi as another solid CB, Cristeig and Bruno came in as CM/AM players and then Sanchez and Asano came in to give me options up front

Ibisevic left after some decent offers came in along with Bajic who I couldn't get more for then just older players let go

 So with the team and new star man Sanchez in place we begin

League

We won the league with 6 games left to go and left all competitors in the dust

We ended the season 20 points clear of Galatasaray 

Cups

We began the season with a solid 3-0 win over Kasimpasa

Unfortunately our luck in the Turkish Cup was worse this year getting knocked out in the Quarter finals by Besiktas unable to overcome the 0-2 loss in the first game

Europe

Europe this year was a very exciting time for the team, we began by progressing through two qualifying rounds in the UCL

We push Omonia to one side beating them 6-3 on aggregate 

Then Maribor are left on the wrong side of a 6-1 loss, and we move on to the Champions League Group stage, where we drawn against 

OH COME ON Chelsea and Dortmund, well lets get this over with

Not too bad we actually managed to beat all three in the first round of games but then drew with Zenit and lost to both Chelsea and Dortmund, so we end up in third and look forward to being in the knockout stages of the Euro Cup once more (if we can get past the second round I'll be happy) 

First up (a former club of mine from FMM 17) sc Heerenveen

It is a very close call but we edge them out after two thrilling games 6-5, so we progress to the dreaded Second round to face Lazio

Another close call but thanks to a 2-0 win in the away leg we finally get past this round and move on to face Wolfsburg in the quarter finals

And we smash it 6-1 over two games and Konyaspor and into the Euro Cup Semi Finals, where we will face Olympique Lyonnais 

The first leg just about went our way even after going down to 9 men

Sanchez comes back with avengence netting 3 in a 4-2 win which sees us through to the Euro Cup final against Roma

Which we lose thanks to a single goal from Asensio (even if the stats say we should have scored at least 1)  

So a great season for the team, but the important thing is how did Sanchez get on,

Well he beat Vardy's record by April (after missing almost a month)

15 less games as well, here's how he looked at the end of the season

Still awesome at 33, and his final tally?????

53 goals in 47 games, what a man

So here's how we stand

Boli: 51

Rescaldani: 62

Sanchez: 53

Total: 166

So that leaves me 7 short of beating the record, so what would you guys do, leave it there and congratulate the winner or have one more season to try and get the top spot.  I'll let you guys decide, I'm taking a break from this one to try one of @Mr.Managers oldies/youngsters challenges

How about Thomas Butiunk??(spelling??)a 16 year old striker at the start of the game.Is doing a nice job for me in my youngies challenge so he would have been developed nicely in your save,and he has low teamwork which may or may not be a good thing.

Used Butiunk in my Alphabet challenge and he did indeed kill it, just trying to find someone I haven't used before so all of my goal based challenges have someone new but I will defo look him up

Taff Attempts the "Canis Lupus" Challenge

Season 7

Turkey

So after a frankly staggering response form the voices of Vibe, I decided to give it one last season to see if we could nab those 7 extra goals we needed to topple @RipRip off the top spot

Now Sanchez was great last season and his stats still look impressive, but after trying with two older players i decided to try and bring in someone a bit younger to attempt to net the 60 goals I need to get the #1 spot, and after two very good years in Turkey the board gave me a very nice TB to go and find that new player, and I found one who meets my criteria (of never having been used in one of my other goal challenges) 

Rui Costa signed from Sporting for £15M, but he has the shooting and pace I like so lets see how he does

First we used the remaining funds and the joys of free agents to bring in some fresh blood

Apart from Costa we brought in Jon Flanagan for the RB position, Akpoguma to join Smedo in the heart of the defence, then a new backup striker in Akpom, Galvez as my new LW, Lezzerini as my new starting GK and De Vito as my new starting LB

Mostly unhappy/unused players leaving 

So with the squad in shape we set off on another whirlwind adventure

League

We won the league with 7 games remaining and had gone undefeated in the league

And we end the season without a loss and almost 30 points clear of our nearest rivals and conceded only 20 goals, my new GK and Defenders did their work well

Cups

We began the season once again with the Turkish Supercup and would once again face Trabzonspor

They had much more of the stats but thanks to my BBM Crisetig we walk away with the cup thanks to a 2-1 win

And I'm glad to say that the Turkish cup went much better this year

A penalty from Costa and a late O.G. sees us lift the cup for the first time under my reign 

UCL

Now as for the Champions League, we did amazing work here (quite unbelievable work)

So we receive the news of our group opponents

OH COME ON Chelsea again, plus PSG and Shakhtar, a nightmare group, but....

Somehow the little Turkish side progress to the UCL knockout rounds with a perfect record beating all three teams twice

We then go on to face the mighty Man U in the first knockout round

Where the magic of away goals once again sees us through to the quarter finals this time to face the blue side of Manchester

Where we take our chances after winning the away leg 1-0 we rely on Zuri and Sanchez to see off Man City who were by far and away the best team, but we took our chances they didn't, and so we move on to the semi finals where we face yet another English Team in Arsenal

A brace of away goals from Costa secures Konyaspor a place in the UCL Final after drawing both legs

And so onto the UCL final we go and the boys are ready for this they have all worked hard to get here and really believe they can go all the way 

 

But sadly it's not to be, the boys worked their socks off but a single goal from Goretzka is enough, but I'm so proud of the team for getting to the UCL Final and they didn't get the thumping that everyone was expecting

So a fantastic season for the team, League and double domestic cup winners and UCL Finalists

But now onto the serious matter of how my new striker Rui Costa got on this year, here's how he looks at the end of the season

Some good improvement with his dribbling, shooting and movement all increasing, but was it enough did he net the 60 goals to get us to the top 

 

OH!!!!! 1 single solitary goal short he nets 59 in 55 which (If I remember right) puts me on equal peggings with @RipRip

Boli: 51

Rescaldani: 62

Costa: 59

Total: 172

So a joint #1 spot at the top of the table and I'm more than happy with that
