Season 4 Scores

With Barco getting a nasty injury and despite a good goals to games ratio for @Rob2017  Lemar is continuing to get impressive goals totals and @Taff now has a lead of 53 goals.

Rob and Taff present “The Stikerless 500”

Taff Season 5

So once again myself and  @Rob2017  are here to share our results in our attempt to gain 500 goals using a Strikerless system.

I hold onto a decent lead having chosen Thomas Lemar while my opponent chose youth and grabbed Eziquiel Braco

So first thing as ever is to check my transfers for the season

Only two players coming in this season and both on free transfers. Kovalenko came in as a backup CM/AM to give me some depth, Mallo was the same at RB

And it’s a good thing as throughout the season people wanted out Horta and Dendoncker the most notable while Kondogbia wouldn’t sign a new contract the rest are my unwanted graduates. 

So with little to no real action in the transfer market let’s see how the team did, could we go back to a clean sweep season after losing out on the Euro Supercup last year

A very tight affair in the season opener coming back from 2-0 down to have Lemar clinch it for us in the 88th minute 

Once again a come from behind victory as we regain the Euro Supercup narrowly beating Real Madrid 

nothing to be to concerned with here, would have liked a bigger win but Lemar netted 5 in the CWC semifinals so no real complaints 

Another season and another draw denies us our perfect league campaign, but a 31 point gap over 2nd place was enough to make us happy 

unfortunately we couldn’t complete a domestic treble thanks to a late winner from Hoffenheim so no clean sweep again

But we grab another UCL crown thanks to Lemar and Malcom

So a pretty good season all around but how did our boy Lemar get on (61 is the total to beat from last season)

His attributes still look mouth watering 

but he struggled for major parts of the year but still managed 61 goals this season but it took him 8 more games to achieve it.  Some good news was his stamina seemed better and he played more games and I’m hoping that next year he will do better.

So there it is I’ll now hand you over to my counterpart  @Rob2017 to share his results

So we have seen how the living legend that is @Taffdid this round. Could I claw any goals back? Or even compete?

Let’s start with the transfers:

Gomez fitted my profile. We all know he tends to turn in to an utter beast. Belloli is a standard cheap South American wonderlid. Scarpa returned on a free to add depth, along with Semezak who looked like a useful free youth.

Draxler and Florenzi kicked up due to appearances and Nkunku wasn’t going to feature.

So how did the French giants do in competitions?

We lost the opening fixture against an Mbappe inspired Monaco. But Barco grabbed a brace so I was more than happy.

The Euro Super Cup was ours with another brace from our Argentinian wizard.

And yet another brace in the CWC, beating the mighty Chivas.

The league cup slotted in to the cabinet in April, with another Barco goal.

Then we reached the French Cup and Champions League finals. Could Barco score in these too?

Not in the French, as he got a few niggly injuries and didn’t play.

But the CL?

He signed off the season with his seemingly customary final brace as we won it again.

And we won the league.

He didn’t get too many injuries. At least nothing like the 3 months last year. 

So here is what he scored:

60 goals in 57 games. I’m more than happy with that. My goals per game isn’t as good as my rival, but it’s the first round I haven’t been trounced. Plus he looks on target for at least 500, unless last season was a fluke!

Season Five Scores

A big improvement for @Rob2017 and Barco with those 60 goals but @Taff and Lemar are so consistent and still extended the lead albeit by only 1 goal to 54 goals.

Season 6 now done and out of the way. My own target was to try and hit 60 again, with a stretch target of 70.

We kicked off with the Trophy, which we slotted Home in our customary high scoring match against Monaco.

Barco got a brace in the Super Cup.

Could we seal the CWC?

Of course, but we made a pigs ear of it!  The boy had a slam a pen away to grab it.

Could we grab the two domestic cup finals?

Yep, with the boy netting in both.

The big one was next - the Champs League. Did we stick that one in the cabinet too?

Yep, but with an extra time winner with Lemar. Something ironic about that.

Oh, and we won the league because PSG.

Disappointing. He was about seven goals ahead of his games, then this happened:

And his attributes dropped, only returning back in the final week of he season.

But they are some sexy attributes.

So he is well over half way there and should get it in 4 or 5 seasons. Over to @Taffto see how our Welsh Wizard has done!

Taff Season 6

So by now you’ve seen how my opponent has done, so I’m here to share my results with you and I’m frankly very disappointed by this season and I’ll share why later

First let’s look at our transfer dealings for the year

we brought plenty of new faces in this year to improve squad depth 

Fosu-Mensa is a beastly CD/CM on this years game and we’ll worth the money.

Cancelo and Wendell came in as back up DB options,

Keita, Hojburg and Rog came in to sure up our depth in midfield 

Saint-Maxime was brought in after Gnarby and Pjaca we’re out injured for 4 month stretches

Onana and Januzaj were great backup options picked up on bos

Not much in the way of outgoings with Mallo and Matic the only noatable names

So a huge influx in players this season but did they help the team achieve victory, let’s have a look

Season 6

We squeezed by Hoofenheim in the season opener

A Lemar hat trick clinched the Euro Supercup 

3 of my finest run rampant in the CWC

The league was wrapped up early but our first league loss in 3 seasons puts a damper on the win

The German Cup returns to Bayern after last years misshap 

And the UCL final is the thing of dreams as Lemar nets 4 along the way to a 7-0 win over AC Milan

So back to winning ways this season completely wiping the floor with the competition.

But now onto the main event, could Lemar crack the 61 goals that he has scored the previous 2 seasons?

His stats still look amazing 

But here’s where I let you in on my disappointment 

Yes Lemar broke the 61 goal mark set over the last 2 seasons and netted 67 for the season, but when you see that he started the season like this...

(24 goals in 10 games) that means he went the rest of the season netting 43 in 35 which is still better than a goal a game but I can’t help being slightly disappointed.

So there it is a slight improvement but would love to have seen what could have been had he kept up his early season form.

@Rob2017 and I are both competing in the Vibe World Cup so there will be a delay in our next post but hopefully not too long

Season 6

A decent season from @Rob2017 and Barco but it's @Taff and Lemar that extend the lead to 64 goals.

We will. @Taffwill get there sooner obviously, and I hope we both continue independently after to see what scores we do end up with when they retire.

Yeah I'm still happy with the amount he scored just a shame about the decline from his early form.

Another good season from Braco, shame about the injury and I think he'll be matching Lemar before long
