Cockers Attempts The Slab head Brothers One Season Challenge

Its another one of them Challenges where everyone jumps on the Bandwagon like the Strikerless Challenge, so why not give it a go. I know this is not going to be easy looking at 2 of the attempts have ended in being Sacked, but I am determined. 

So here goes my attempt, it was an interesting season and I only hope my attempt will be of one to remember...

So the Club...

This is my first time I can remember ever managing Leicester, so the players are known through their exploits, but how good are they in this game...

The Players...

Luarence Maguire is one of those players his stats would normally scare you away, I got him for under £100K...

Harry Maguire has some good stats, plenty of greens in the right areas for a defender, but sadly not as a Striker...

So i had the players, my journey began with a 2 striker formation, and the 2 Maguire's leading the line, so how did I do...

Best Games...

Even with a player sent off very early, I still got Harry to score 4 goals and win the match 5-2, if he continues like this all season I could be on a winner...

Another good game for Harry, scoring a hatrick whilst beating Liverpool impressively...

Not only did I beat City and dominate the whole game with 17 shots, 13 on target, but both Maguire's got a brace each...

Another game we completely dominated, and both brothers got on the scoresheet...

You get the point, I've added a few more below...

My disappointment was reaching 2 Cup finals and loosing both because we couldn't score, there was plenty of chances, just couldn't put them away...

Carabao Cup - Lost 3-1 to Arsenal

We had the more chances, but only Harry could find the net...

FA Cup - Lost to Man td 2-0

The possession and chances were equal, they just were lucky with a win through an own goal...

The rest of the season if anybody interested, a few really bad results and a couple of bad runs, but we got through it...

Now that's all over, and I hope you have enjoyed the read so far, the players and their achievements...

Laurence Maguire...

He has improved well, still weak Stamina and Strength even for a Centre Half, but on a normal career I think he has plenty of room for improvement and one to maybe keep an eye on...

His Stats...

So out the 47 games I played him, he scores 14 goals. His assist rate was good, but he was terrible at taking penalties, I think he missed over 7 of them throughout the season...

Harry Maguire...

What made me laugh is that he played the whole season as a striker, yet his Shooting stat went down! 

Stats...

Scored a massive 37 goals in 46 games, I think that is worth an applause considering his lack of being a striker...

So both guys played a majority of the games, I had a 2 week and 3 week period where one of them was Injured, otherwise they played the majority of the season...

Final League Position...

I was heartbroken, I just needed the win at home last game to have a chance at finishing 2nd, but drew with Everton 1-1 which dropped me a few places to 4th, but still, a champions League place for he following season, overall a good season considering 2 Defenders played as my Strikers...

Points...

Laurence Maguire - Goals = 14 * 5 = 70

Harry Maguire - Goals = 37 * 1 = 37

League Points = 71

Total = 178

That is tremendous mate! How on earth did you get them to score so much?

Gotta say, I think Harry looks a bit like an old fashioned centre forward. Alright, maybe his passing, dribbling and technique are a little high and his aggression is a little low, but he's not far off it. He doesn't really need great shooting. As you proved!

Thanks mate, I have been tinkering with a bizarre, yet effective tactic but with only one striker, I amended to make it a 2 striker tactic, and eh presto it actually works, I have been trying to use for a 1K, but It won't give me the results needed, but smashes all other records, 2 seasons unbeaten in Scotland with Celtic including winning the Champions League, 3 winning seasons with Ajax with minimum losses, Man City smashed the Prem, but it doesn't get me the greatest amount of goals for a single striker, it's more for a Team scoring Tactic.

Enjoyed this one, nice to see them doing well for me, you giving it a go?

Sounds like a good tactic! I'm sadly bad at making such tactics, which is going to get me found out in the CC... I can get a striker to the 1KC using the old 4 3 2 1, but I can't seem to come up with an all conquering goal fest tactic. 

I want to give this one a try, but I'm mid-1KC right now and I've paused that to do the CC (only my second ever tournament and you know all about the first!) - so I'm not sure if I'll do it. I'm a bit worried if I don't go back to the 1KC after the CC then I'll never go back to it...

Thanks @Kanegan, it was a relief to see them scoring considering their lack of Striker roles, I still could of got over 30 points more if Laurence had scored the penalties, which he was absolutely crap at!!!

Stunning score mate. I’ve actially had similar numbers in a test Maguire save I did.  That was in a single striker formation though so massive kudos to you. Bravo 👏🏻

Thanks mate, I was wondering if i would get anywhere switching to having 2 strikers, but it worked this time, if I did it again i would probably get sacked 🤣

Cheers @samhardy, seriously, when the second to last game said 2nd position I was thinking this was even better, but then to draw at home against Everton, I was deflated, Penalties and free kicks should not be given to Laurence, that's my Tip to anybody attempting this

Brilliant score mate, well done, that is really some going. I’m struggling to get anywhere near these results with my tactics so you have found a gem of one there mate. Laurence was my nemesis for penalities too.

Thanks @Titjes it was actually an enjoyable challenge, maybe another day it could of been worse, or even better, might give it another shot

Thanks mate it was one of those Tactics that just clicked into place for this challenge, I'm sure there are those out there that will smash that score at some stage
