They were good in the early days but gets complacent as they’re having lack of competition.

With all of us getting PAR, there is no change in the standings... but the change may come at the next hole, hole no 8, as it is a very different challenge.

 

Buy a goalkeeper from a club that wears yellow (away kits and 3rd kits are allowed). He must be played up front, and score as many goals in all competitions in two seasons as possible.

Eagle - 60 goals

Birdie - 40-59 goals

Par - 30-39 goals

Bogey - 29 goals or less

Right from the start of this H2H I knew that this challenge is mine as I'm among the few that completed the Rogerio Ceni Challenge. The plan was simple, find a "effective free-kick taker" goalkeeper and smash everything: EAGLE!

But it wasn't like this as I only found one keeper with that trait and he was weak on everything else... and you need it to be at least decent so he can stay on the pitch. I did scout around 1900 players just to find this poor lad...

 

So, change of plans and looked for a keeper with good-ish stamina, good aerial, technique, creativity and shooting/passing... passing is not on a goalkeeper attributes, is hidden. Hidden and also not hidden if you know how to search (with the game filters).

The chosen one: Illan Meslier from Borussia Dortmund.... 2 on shooting and 11 on passing. Not good on creativity, only 4 and good or good-ish on everything ealse. PRICE: 95M

 

Before I show how it looks and what he did, the tactic:. This was my main tactic as I had two tactics and sometimes I've had to change between those two. And also this tactic had a second version when the keeper was out so the other players can score...

This tactic is booooring, most of the balls go to the target man and because he was a piece of wood he would only get 1-3 shots on target every game... and win around half of it's 10-20 headers per game.

I've stopped after 15 goals, total 40, as maybe I can get 25-30 games  but I need 20 more goals to get and Eagle and that's not gonna happen. 1 assist this season

When I've set up the game I should choose France among countries loaded and get Stefan Bajic and maybe I would have scored the 60 goals for eagle

Oh man, so unlucky! Being the only one with Italy loaded, I was 100% sure that you will take @Kun Aguero's Vanja... even that he is old. With a slow tempo tactic that will force the opposition to make fouls, Vanja would have done it.

BTW I'm so curious on what tactic got for this hole.

Hello and welcome to my attempt at home 8, which really intrigued me, I’ve never played a striker up front so this was very interesting.

The Player

This lad joined me from Newcastle United, most commonly referred to as the best club in the world, he was the best option on offer, even though Newcastle were in the championship. I was hoping lack of technique and creativity wouldn’t let him down too much.

So basically we hadn’t actually done much business in the summer, but then I decided I wanted wingers with high crossing so I got rid of some older players, who were my better players to facilitate this.

So a successful season, but not our best by a long shot, I think it’s a bit of teaser from that last game, that he did not like penalties whatsoever.

So a very good first season from Mr Weir in the end, what’s most fascinating to me is, that he missed 9 penalties in this season and scored 2, so most of his goals were actually from crosses or loose balls, which was nice.

Season 2

So we needed 19 this season to get the birdie, if I had scored 30 first season I would be aiming higher, but when I first started this challenge I really did not expect to even get to a birdie score.

So again I just wanted to bring the average age down whilst also bringing the right personalities in, which we had managed to do well.

So we achieve a birdie and we did by February, so I went back to using Moise Kean up top from then, reason I’m posting now is I may not get a chance before tonight. Very pleased with that, again he only got 1 goal from the spot this season, which is so frustrating as he could have got us to the 60 goals.

I had 4 wingers and 4 wing-backs at my disposal, all with minimum of 16 on crossing and 15 on passing. Saka, Villas-Boas and Abdalla have 20 on crossing and 20 on passing... Meslier had 29 headers in one match...

Crazy! I had two players with 19 crossing in January first season of the challenge, I didn’t fancy full backs as I thought I’ll keep it to the wingers to cross, just a shame they can’t kick a ball well enough to score any penalties 😂

You had Bogey, so for sure not a 🐦 . I can't remember the numbers and can't relate to out scoring system as you had it different.
