Career Rich and Ronnie’s Glorious Year

So it wouldn’t be long until I would go for another badge would it! This was a good challenge for me as I could try and create something that could work for a 1k attempt this year.

Before The Challenge Starts

Some awesome signings here which I am delighted about, who would have thought I could have signed Jamal! So happy!

De Bruyne and Sane - Brought in to whip some crosses in for our main man Ronaldo, 19 on crossing for De Bruyne so he should get some brilliant deliveries in.

Goretzka, Brozovic and Llorente - I’m a big fan of all rounded midfielders and all 3 of these go brilliantly with Casemiro and Valverde, make us solid and shouldn’t take away many goals from our main man.

Others - Varane stats were declining after an injury, so decided I wanted a new CB son January and we get Koulibaly who is a monster. Others come in as back up, Martinez and Chukwueze will fight for second choice left winger and Koman is my second right winger, his crossing has gone to 14 thought which is not nice. Next season wing backs are my main priority.

Tactic

 

Very simple looking formation, we have rotated thus far to see who the best combos are. As you can see Goretzka playing at AP which I haven’t done before, but he’s playing great. Ronaldo was used as CF most of the start of it, but his stats have decline already so he can’t do as much, I’m sure he will end up going as a poacher or Target Man soon.

So he’s smashing it so far but his stats have declined so I’m not excepting that rate to carry on. I’m sure I’ll finish this challenge off tomorrow, I’ll do an update after season 1 is finished.

Squad Stats

As you can see Sane has been on fire with his deliveries, even though De Bruyne is on corners, I can’t seem to score any.

Jokes apart, another big score coming. Goretzka has been my favourite for last few editions. He is such an all round talent.

Interesting tactic. I'm not sure how I'll approach it yet, but probably with my old 1KC tactic (which I'm tweaking with Carrillo in Beijing, although I used my more attacking TT tactic for that game in the records post). It's a bit tricky to know whether 1 up front and all the goals will beat 3 up front and a smaller share of a lot more goals... So watching your attempt closely! 😄

 Yeah I was thinking going all out attack, I’ve got a tactic ready for that. So I thought I’d try a tactic with 1 up front, I think if had wingbacks witg better crossing, it would be great, I think I have already got my tactic for 1k now 😁

January 2021 - May 2021 

So welcome back at my attempt at getting Ronaldo at least 78 goals in a calendar year, people may think it’s easier than it is, I can confirm it’s a hard one.

Results

So we romped the league very easily and emphatically, but we were knocked out of the champions league in quite unlucky fashion really, this means less games to be played, which was not a good thing for us, them extra three games is vital in this challenge I believe.

Lots of money spent but well spent I’d say, 4 losses isn’t too bad either, hopefully this will look better by January.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Squad Stats

 

So he gets 50 goals for me, but I still need another 28, which is not easy considering I only got 34 last time from August to January and he played every game and now he’s declining, so this could be a shambles!

I just cant seem to put a team together me 🤣🤣 i tried to build around ronny. Wingers kostic rachina daniel james , hatever his name. Taa hackimi ect no slouches by any means. Koulibaly gimenez brozovic and i played 15 games won only 4 and ronny scored 5 goals. In the end i gave up the ghost. I dont know why i struggle with real this year. Just seems like theres nothing there. Odegaard is amazing no doubt! But says hes unselfish but yet scores way more than creates for me anyway. I think imma pass this challenge up. And accept defeat lol

August 2021 - January 2022

Transfers

My main target was going to be Trent, but they wanted 200 odd million and I did not have that money in the bank unfortunately. We did strengthen massively though with Bruno who actually had a 4 month injury a couple of months in to the season, just glad that wasn’t his challenge. Hagi with 18 crossing was a big upgrade on Koman who was only 14 crossing. We strengthened defensively massively as well.

League Table 

 

So what a performance league wise, 3 goals conceded as we were so solid. But going forward a good amount scored as well. Looks like I have created a tactic that will work in more challenges going forward.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Squad Stats

So he actually played better than he did last season in the end, helped massively that Hagi came in and improved the assists for the second team, glad to get it done. That was the toughest challenge to date for me.

Great stuff mate, that looks like a decent score. Ronnie's faded away quite a bit there, but still banging them in,. I'm thinking that 17 Aerial will be pretty important (and it doesn't seem to fade).

You’re right, if his aerial faded I would have had no hope this challenge, it helped a lot that De Bruyne picked up his game the second season, he was getting probably an average of 20 crosses a game, which is getting me excited for a solo striker career 😂
