Thank you Rich. I did want to get Plata instead but I felt that wouldn’t be good form after giving you stick for copying all of my transfers in yours.

When I was reading the season 1 update I noticed you bought Vrsaljko then loaned him out. I presumed that was the mistake.

Then the Haaland clanger appeared, wow.

Good work getting him back, he'll be worth a lot of points. Interested to see how Harvey goes. Comes up a lot when I'm searching, bit never used him yet.. Watching with great interest!

Thanks Billy. Absolute clanger of all proportions. Felt like I needed to push on and see how we could do.

I used him last year and he was good. Hopefully he will develop the same. Cheers mate.

Season 02 - The End

After plenty of injuries on season one only Sancho had a long one this time. I had a few 10d-2w injuries along the way too.

He had already moaned and handed in a transfer request too.

Oh well. He was pretty much useless from Feb onwards.

Transfers

After the whole Haaland escapade and signing Saka I wasn’t left with much cash, but I managed to move a few players and wages about to get back to a decent squad. I was about two players light of what I’d ideally want though.

Team Performance

Having won the league in season one it meant I could rotate a bit and focus on Europe, which was just as well as we came second to Bayern this time.

On to the Champions League, which is the benchmark killer on this challenge. Last season PSG dumped us out by scoring all five of their shots across the two legs of a knockout. Imagine my delight when I saw we drew Barcelona in the first knockout round this time.

After we dominated them in a 1-1 first leg at the Nou Camp we deservedly beat them 3-2 overall.

So that’s the mighty Barcelona done. Who’s next? Real Madrid, that’s who. Yuck!

That’s the Real Madrid that we smashed 6-3 on aggregate to reach the semi-finals.

At this point I’m thinking ‘man, we’ve got this’, especially as we drew Inter in the semis; a team my tactic tends to work against.

FML!

Then in the next league match this happens:

 

The Viking, injured.

FML even more. Could the FMM Gods rescue us?

Well, yes, they actually could.

An early red card and utter domination led to a fantastic result where Jude became a man and led us to the final. Woooooha!

Man United in the final. The easiest team so far, in my opinion. Could we win it and get the 20 bonus points?

No.

But that’s both the league won (season one) and CL final reached, which meant we passed both team benchmarks.

Player Performance

Really solid all-round by the lads. 

All managed to hit the benchmarks. Harvey didn’t grow as much as I hoped he would, so I got him to where I needed to get him by changing his role later in games.

Thanks Ian. I always find it amazing how much the game can affect your day to day life too if you aren’t careful. This was making me right grumpy at times.
