A late offer from Kun's Army to hijack Sandwich Army's Depay deal had been rejected. 

"There will not be any new signings or sellings before the transfer window slammed shut. I'm happy with our current squad and will be focusing on preparations for the new season now." says Diego Simeone in an interview.

With bids from 2 clubs rejected for Depay, it now seems that his move to Sandwich Army is inevitable.

Sandwich Army are closing in the dela for Memphis Depay. The Sandwiches are reportedly negotiating for a swap deal plus some money due to their lack of financial power.

After signing Kounde + Depay, surely Sandwich Army have to be considered as likely for at least Top 4 + probably challenging for the title.

Which isn't a problem, Foden will help alleviate the void Depay had left, Lemar did well imo as part of the attacking trident last season and let's remember Sané is still here, and he was our standout player and should've been POTY imo

Sane was great last year. I wanted to get him but surely is out of my budget 😂

Summary of transfer activity this summer (end of season 1)!

• Attack - gained Lukaku (via Kane swop), Zaha + backup player Bale. Lost Messi. Plus loaned out Aubameyang to end-Dec.
• Midfield - gained Wijnaldum + Bellingham (on loan). Lost Di Maria, Milner and now Busquets.
• Wing Backs - gained Trippier + Maehle. Lost Cuadrado.
• Defence - gained Van Dijk + Koulibaly. Lost Ramos.

I hope that is it and I haven’t missed one. Total of 9 players in and 7 players out (inc. loans). That’s a lot.

Kun's Army Season Preview

Transfer In :

• Lionel Messi
• Moussa Diaby (loan)
• Jonathan David

Transfer Out :

• Wilfired Zaha
• Yves Bissouma

Expected Lineup :

Diego Simeone had been switching between the 4-4-1-1 and 4-2-3-1 formation last season, but with the signing of Lionel Messi, I'm hoping that he use the 4-2-3-1 formation more often which allows Messi to play in the AMR position. Leonardo Bonucci had been solid in the first half of Season 1, but not so good in the second half, so I'm hoping that he still had another season to offer before starting his decline (as he's already 34 years old). 

As for the attack, Lewandowski is expected to be the one upfront, with Son, Tadic and Messi behind him. Hopefully Tadic can continue his great form last year, and fingers crossed for Messi to regain his form after the injury.

Let's hope the MLS trio (Messi + Lewandowski + Son) can be as good as the MSN 🤞

Season Expectations : 

Our sponsorship objective is to finish in Top 4, but there's not enough for a team that just sign a 6 times Ballon D'Or winner, anything below 1st place will be seen as a failure.

Pep on his team's transfer dealings and how it will affect his team's performance for an expected title challenge in the coming season:

"I am happy, very happy with the transfers. Yes, losing Van Dijk and Depay, both wonderful, talented players will hurt, definitely. But I think the players coming here are hungry and will fit right in with the squad so yeah I am excited for the season ahead"

When asked about who exactly will fill Depay's spot on the starting XI, the Spaniard has this to say:

"Leão, he's a brilliant kid. Good control, plenty of room to grow, humble kid and works hard for the team. I believe he will surprise alot of people and I trust him to play an important role for us. Of course it can't just be him alone, but I have faith that he will play wonderfully like he has always been for us"

They're definitely going to be knocking at the door imo, but yeah top 4 feels realistic given the deals they've accrued. Kounde is a class act and I can definitely vouch for Depay being arguably top 5 strikers in the league currently
