I absolutely love your progress with Sané. I’ve never thought of using him that way at all, as I have almost always used him as an IF. 

Just out of interest, do you reckon you could tweak your tactic to do a TT?

I have never used him full stop so that is going to have to change at some point.

A TT was the plan initially. I made the formation have just the one AP and then three central strikers.

Glad to hear it works for you. I’ve dabbled with a one defender formation throughout the year but never been able to get something working consistently until this one

Season 10

Going into our tenth year of this career now and it’s come to the point where time is definitely not on our side. With over 500 goals to score between the pair and not many seasons left to do it in this is turning into a race against time for Harry and Sané...

Transfers:

We let two goalkeepers leave in the summer as they weren’t doing us any favours to be honest and I had my eye on a new goalkeeper so they would just be taking up squad space

Donnarumma on a free transfer! Cracking signing and he’ll slot straight into the first team as our new number one and pushing Ederson to the bench. Marc Gregory is a Michael Carrick regen that I just had to buy, unfortunately his stamina is dreadful so he won’t be featuring often. Monteiro is Ronaldo’s regen so getting him for free is a real coup, along with Upamecano who along with Laporte my favourite defender this year.

Manager Profile & Season History:

Unbeaten league campaign and a clean sweep of trophies this season. To be honest though it gets far too easy at this stage of a career due to AI mismanagement.

Beautiful form shown throughout the season from the squad, with some huge scorelines in there, including a 10-1 win against Newcastle.

 

The Double Trouble

 

Harry Kane:

Kane will be turning 34 before the next season starts so I’m glad his attributes are holding up well. He’s actually injured at the point of this screenshot too so he missed some vital games towards the end of the season, I’ve still got him on my Intensive training regime which you can find here.

Improvement on last season from Kane. Six more goals in one less games and 78 in total for the season. Great to see that he’s still got it. I’ve switched him from a Target Man to a Poacher now too so it’s nice to see him scoring goals in a different role.

Leroy Sané:

Still a fantastic player to look at. I expect that his attributes will start dropping before Kane’s does to be honest, If I remember correctly, winger type players always deteriorate faster than anyone else. He’s also played as a Poacher now too. So yes, I am rolling out with two Poachers in the side, although Sané did play a few games as a Complete Forward but it just wasn’t doing it for me.

He matches Kane’s 78 with 78 of his own! They nearly had identical seasons AvR wise too with Sané rocking an 8.57 whilst Kane managed a 8.56!

Overall a good season that I’m very happy with. Both players missed a few games due to fatigue but that’s to be expected at the age they are.

Now i didn’t want to disturb @Foxy whilst he’s on his little family holiday so I’ve made the graphic for this season myself 😅 Still the same sort of graphic but it’s unfortunately nowhere near as good as Foxy’s! 😂 Without further ado...

In all her glory! 😂 Best I can do unfortunately and it will have to do. So Kane is a 137 goals short of his 1000 goal target whilst Sané still has 254 to score. So the plan for the next two seasons is keep things as they are before I’ll make the move to switch Kane to a wide area whilst Sané becomes the sole focal point of the team.

To be fair he’d make a superb Target man with that 9 Aerial and 9 aggression, plus his 9 passing means he could assist a ton for Sané

Great stuff mate! (well except maybe that graphic 😂). Both strikers looking great for their age and scoring strongly still - they are both going to get their 1K each without too much trouble. Just in awe of what you've done here. 

Out of interest, how has Havertz gone for you? I've had trouble with him scoring too much, but he might be coming good for me now (too early to tell).

Havertz has scored more than he’s assisted but he’s assisting enough to warrant keeping him in the side.

Involved in around 40 goals a season since his arrival so I’m happy with how it’s going. I’d obviously like him to Assists all of it but it’s never going to happen really. I’ve tried all sorts off different players in the role and they all more or less hit the same numbers, so it’s just a case of accepting that and moving on to be honest

Nah, the graphic is fine. Not Fox-worthy obviously, but better than I'd do. Good to know you're human though.

Thanks for the Havertz stats. That's roughly what I'm getting (the ratio anyway, not as many of either). That said, he's done better in my latest season (42 / 12 /17), so I'm hoping he sticks to that sort of ratio. Of course we have totally different tactics so can't really compare. I just saw one career somewhere here where he was assisting like a legend, but I haven't been able to get that out of him. Anyway, you're scoring enough goals to go around!

I saw that career, think it was an Isak 1k/ Havertz Assists challenge? That’s the career that made me want to try him out to be honest. To put it simply, I feel the team performs better when Havertz is in so that’s all there is to it at the end of the day

I found that in my Teutonic save. He doesn't get the numbers Amiri does but the team performed better with him in it when he was at his peak.

He’s on left sided corners for me and that’s it, I’ve just worked it out and he’s got 304 assists in ten seasons, so averaging 30 a season. With four players on the AM line I’m extremely happy with that

Season 11

We go into this season with Kane turning 34 and Sané turning 32 midway through, so theoretically I don’t have long left to complete this challenge, Kane has started to deteriorate in physical stats already and this season would be no different.

Just the unwanted youth players leaving in the summer, I’m curious to know if anyone has had anyone half decent roll in from these promotions? I’ve never gotten anyone half decent from them.

A couple of new players this summer. Padilla is a Spanish CM/AM regen that I’m tempted to say is Iniesta but I’m not too sure on that, he cost a whopping £198m anyway but his attributes do look good. Farnabe is a French left winger that we got from FC Nantes for £30m. So overall a quiet transfer window considering the money we spent, but I’m happy with my dealings.

How am I only the 6th best manager in the world? 

Yet another clean sweep this season as the competition just isn’t what it used to be, or ever was for that matter.

Harry Kane:

His physicals have dropped yet again, although his other attributes make up for it in a sense as he still looks a world class striker at 34.

We manage 70 from Kane which is brilliant! That puts him on 933 for the career, 67 goals to go for the big man!

Leroy Sané:

Not such a young German anymore is he? Sané’s lack of international football should do him a favour in my opinion though, especially if I rest him too, we should still see him looking decent for a couple of seasons.

A 76 from Sané. That puts him on 822 for the career, with 178 goals remaining. We could do with one more big year from him, but even if he doesn’t I think he’ll come over the line either way. 

245 goals to go in this career. The finish line is in sight 👀

In my current season (post about it in the next day or so), I got the John Terry regen. That was a mind blower to me - I never realised that you could get a regen through the youth team. Now I suspect any time it says a particular player's name in the message (ie "john doe in particular looks promising") then you're getting a regen.

Of course it's a regen for the country you're in, which in your case (and mine) is England, and when you get to the top level only a few English regens are at the level you need. 

EDIT: Actually turns out I knew about this already as I previously got the Joe Cole regen via my youth team.

Season Twelve

Hello Vibe, there is not long to go in this career now and it was simply a matter of keeping our duo fit to get as many games out of them as possible. Kane’s physicals were sinking faster than the titanic, whilst Sané is still the undoubted star man of the side. The objective this year was to change Kane’s role and try and channel the majority of the goals through Sané.

Transfers:

A fair few outgoing transfers, the squad was aging so wholesale changes were needed to inject some youth into the side.

Massive money spent. Nearly £300m to be precise. I won’t go through them all with you, but Ehrmann is a German Attacking midfielder that I’m tempted to say is Ozil’s regen, Magno Da Silva is a Brazilian CB who has an awesome name and our free signing this season is Jadon Sancho from Dortmund, bargain.

The 20’s have taken a hit due to all the transfer activity, nice to see I’m still the 6th best manager in the world after my 12 league titles and 67 cup wins 🙄

Yes Mr.Kane, whatever you want, as long as it keeps you playing...

Damn physicals 😮 He is sinking, and sinking fast, lost a yard of pace and can no longer play full matches. 67 goals was the target to complete his part of the challenge...

That’ll do! 43 goals from the big man takes him 24 goals away from the magical 1000. Happy with his contribution.

Leroy Sané:

The lack of international football is definitely helping his attributes. His physicals are dropping, but not as rapidly as his counterpart. Huge season needed...

Yes! A 92 from Sané. The role changes worked, the majority of the goals go through Sané and we have one happy Welshman on the sidelines! That means that Sané is 86 goals away from 1000. So if all goes well, we could see both targets achieved in the same season. That is the dream.

We are nearly home and dry. 110 goals to get to the 2000 mark. A similar season to this one should see us come close.
