Great start mate. Never heard of him and never managed in Portugal (yet) so will be interested to see how it goes. As for Livakovic, he's probably the only player I've signed more that Carrillo this year - I always sign him, either as the main keeper or a quality backup, depending at what level I'm playing.

Season Two

So it would seem my whinging paid off. I'm not entirely sure why the job became available after looking at their fixture list, but I'm definitely not complaining (maybe the manager retired?) 

Transfers In

Not much activity here. I wanted Dan James but he wasn't interested (his loss!) so I settled for Matondo, who has turned out quite well in some saves. I was on the hunt for some quality at the CAM role but the players I bought in were very lackluster in this position, all far too greedy and not assisting enough. 

Transfers Out

Plenty left the club this season. Nunez wasn't getting the love he deserved and I was very happy with the extra funds... Even if we didn't really need them 😂

Results

Clean sweep in all competitions this year which I really didn't expect. Some very luck results though, even if we did only lose one game all season (in the group stages against the Babes). A difficult run, including a penalty shootout to Barca in the semis, saw us face Shakhtar in the final, which was a fairly straightforward game to hand us the title of European Champions. We were also extremely lucky in the national cup finals. 

Ramos

Still some great improvements this season, albeit a lot less than the first, but h looks great for a 21 Yr old. One thing that is slightly worrying is his low work rate. He always has the message saying how he dislikes the work rate that his team expects, and I'm not sure if it is linked but his stamina doesn't seem to increase much and he often is jaded. Anyone had issues with this? It doesn't affect his scoring too much but he does miss alot of games still, but that could still just be his age.

Here is how he got on:

A whopping 73 goals which I'm delighted with. He also grabbed a decent 12 goals in within his first year playing at international level, and had an amazing debut scoring 4 goals. Hoping to hit my first century soon! This total might be a bit misleading though, as he banged in 14 goals within 5 games in the club world championship right at the end of the season.

I have no idea what areas could be work rare but I’m sure there’s a few on here, I should look more in to things myself.

I'm not sure if it will really affect the challenge too much but I do worry it is linked to his fitness issues.

Also, I seem to have a habit of picking players for these challenges who are just terrible at set pieces 😂 he easily missed 10+ penalties this season...

International management will help, big time. Will reduce the time it takes to complete this by a season, at least. Keep it going. 👍

A very nice season all round. I still consider him to be a youngster and I’d like to bet that the jadedness will improve dramatically at some point from his 22nd to 24th birthday. Just what I’ve found and it can be like a switch has been pressed in my experience.

You are steaming along though so just need to keep going.

I swear the game doesn’t allow youngsters to score penalties. I am amazed how little they get until they get older. It’s weird.

Ramos has missed more than he has scored, easily. And Kaio Jorge was the same. Both had the "Unconvincing penalty/free kick taker" on their coach reports after a while

Looks very unlucky for you. Musiala doesn’t have anything but barely miss it. Probably because of poor goalkeeping in Scotland?

I think you can improve that by increasing shooting, technique and creativity

Season Three

Transfers In

Even though Livakovic was doing great, his stats seemed to have peaked with only a couple of greens. We had some extra funds left over so swapped him plus some cash for big man Donna. Barella and Reyna were bought in for the first team and everyone else was to provide some depth/youth. 

Transfers Out

Pedrinho was far to greedy at CAM. Everyone else was unhappy with the amount of game time they were getting. I was actually sad to see Luca go though as he was one hell of a super sub! 

Results 

So we are maintaining a gpg of around 2.5 and conceding just under 0.5 gpg which I'm very pleased with. Still losing and drawing the odd game though, but the squad still has room to improve (I think). We had a good result in all competitions this season, except for a narrow defeat in the CL final against a strogg Bayern team. 

Ramos

Some nice growth this season, and I'm very pleased to see his Stamina increase a fair bit. He was rarely jaded this season but I did rest him still sometimes when he was slightly tired as he just seemed to under-perform when he was. Let's see how that transferred to goals:

5 extra games and 4 more goals than the previous season. He is also struggling to get a decent gpg in INT games but I put this down to the lack of any real wingers. From now on I'll probably be using pushed up IFs for the INT games and hope he manages to score a few more. 

Overall I was quite happy with this season but I'm toying with the idea of messing around with the tactic a little. Possibly testing him in a Poacher role rather than an AF. I haven't decided yet though as my tweaking mid career normally leads to much disappointment 😂

After I triumph in the PT Cup this happened. So next season should be a great one with the right deals made! We had a huge cash injection of 563 million.

So our lad has just turned 22 and is almost a quarter of the way to his 1k target. Its going well, and I'm still very hopeful of hitting a century at some point. Stay tuned and thanks for reading!

It’s funny, the last couple of FMM’s, I always used CF or AF, but this year poacher is becoming my go to, but maybe that’s because my set up is different to last year. We are very alike with tinkering all the time mate. I guess it wouldn’t be fun if we kept things exactly the same for 10+ seasons? 😂

His workrate was as low as it can be before my last match. I've been trying to improve it by talking to him but never got the "work rate improved" message. Then out of nowhere his work rate is now in the green 🤔

I had this with Unuvar in my Celtic career. I mentored him with Oyarzabal who has perfect professionalism and work rate. Unuvar’s work rate came from yellow to perfect green.
