I thought that, but then I started to dig deep into the other attributes like who might shoot more rather than pass, or who can't keep up with Son, both fitness and brain capacity, yes they are all good, but some of their personal attributes made me consider PSG as not really playing for Son, so Bayern or Real, my choice of Bayern was purely because the 2 attacking players thought more about bringing in play who is front of them, in my eyes anyway, but I am old, so maybe I read them wrong 🤣

Completely agree. That PSG midfield three have VERY LOW teamwork, the best shooters (less likely to pass) + a killer combination … the worst stamina + lazy personalities.

Overall I guess PSG are less likely to feed Son + less likely to work hard in the 2nd half when they’re already wining 2-0 or 3-0 … not a good combo (but if they win this I’ll be quite embarrassed!)

??? You see that right. After PSG got Son 3 hat-tricks in 22 games and Madrid 3 hat-tricks in 46 games, I thought you know what..I'm not stopping until Bayern gets 1. ...60 games ..70 games ..80 games wtf I'm thinking at this point ...90 games...surely now ..100 games. I played 100 games !!! No hattrick 😂 pardon my French but F-me, geez! Lottts of braces but just not that third goal we all desperately wanted to see, how frustrating!

If it's a shit tactic, OK, so be it, but WHY does the very same tactic get multiple hattricks for the same Son in much less than half the games for PSG and Madrid? And 0 hattricks in 100 games for Bayern? They have a decent squad, no? I simply can't wrap my head around this. Bayern was my round's pick btw 🤔 0 pts for me.

 

Some observations

There's one very interesting thing I observed during the PSG games. I was curious as to why it clicked well enough for PSG and less for Madrid and even much less for Bayern. Neymar and Messi simply don't defend at all! Madrid's Asensio and Modric definitely tracked back as per the AP's definition. Bayern's Musiala and Muller did so too going as far back as their own half at times. Neymar and Messi .. they ignore what the role prescribes altogether. It's not that they're bad at defending, no, they simply refuse to do so. Does their personality override the role instructions??? Is that the case for all strong (lazy / selfish) personalities? - for that I definitely need extra testing but it's certainly one of the things that stood out during this round - the 2 PSG boys do as they please and this time it worked in their favor. Nonetheless, I'm baffled. They're no APs, they're simply Treqs operating much closer to Son, therefore being much more often in better positions than their Madrid / Bayern friends to feed Son.

 

What are your thoughts ?

With a few tweaks, WMs or even IFs Son did score a hattrick but not in the original setup. But yes, Neymar and Messi basically staying right behind Son despite the manager's disapproval is what nicked it. Certain players like that need no tactical instructions and should be given the freedom to do whatever they want.

Indeed, it surprised me big time that Bayern couldn't get Son his hattrick. They certainly did with different setups of course (I checked, took me 5-6 games or so) but not with one that works for other teams. Crazy.

As for the dedication...just replaying gamer after game after game after game ..at work 😂😂

This round is all about youth - how long to keep them in the Reserve Team, when to promote to the First Team, should we keep them with us where they have good facilities, a good Youth Coach and even proper Mentors. Should we loan them out for vital experience and hopefully enough game time on a decent level? How best to ensure that their development goes North rather than South? I haven't got the faintest clue, which is why (once again) I'm going to need your help. Let me start by giving you the latest..

 

Ajax

One of the finest clubs for developing youth. 

• Training Facilities: State of the art
• Youth Facilities: Superb

Our academy products are in a fine place, but we still have very big decisions to make for our 5 prospects ..

 

Our Youth

Youth Player 1 - Goalkeeper: Owusu-Oduro (18yo)

CA: 1.5 and PA: 3.5 + mentored by Pasveer for Leadership, Communication and Kicking.

 

Youth Player 2 - Defender: Hato (16yo)

CA: 1.5 and PA: 4.5 + mentored by Klaassen for Teamwork, Aggression and Movement.

 

Youth Player 3 - Midfielder: Vos (17yo)

CA: 1.0 and PA: 5.0 + mentored by Alvarez for Aggression, Tackling and Teamwork.

 

Youth Player 4 - Midfielder: Misehouy (17yo)

CA: 1.0 and PA: 4.5 + mentored by Berghuis for Crossing, Teamwork and Creativity.

 

Youth Player 5 - Forward: Kalokoh (17yo)

CA: 1.5 and PA: 4.0 + mentored by Tadic for Leadership, Aggression and Passing.

 

 

Development Criteria

We must ensure all of these 5 prospects improve their skills as best as we can in the forthcoming season. It's crucial to our future as our club depends on it. This round will be 1 full season and the criteria for our youth players will be how much every single attribute on their profile page has increased (+) or decreased (-) over 1 year (now until 1st July 2023). The accumulation of the entire attribute improvement of all 5 youth players will be combined for a total score. This will be done for the 3 options, with the highest total earning you 3 points.

 

Decision Time:

 

Option A : First Team

• I'll bring all 5 youth players into the First Team of Ajax and play 1 youth product every game for 45min (meaning each player gets to play 1 in 5 games for 1 half) + they experience the sub bench 100% of the games. They also have excellent training and youth facilities and a very good Mentor.

 

Option B : Reserve Team

• I'll keep them in the Reserve Team for a full season. I'll make sure they play the vast majority of the games, but the Ast. Manager (Youth Coach Whittie) is otherwise in full control of tactics and playing positions + they still enjoy excellent training and youth facilities and a very good Mentor.

 

Option C : Loan Out

• I'll loan them out to clubs where hopefully they get more regular playing time on a higher level. It isn't guaranteed though as it's beyond my control. Potentially very beneficial to their development, however, they no longer meet our Mentors nor use our training and youth facilities at Ajax, they use their new club's instead.
• Youth Players on a 1-year Loan Spell:
• Owusu-Oduro loaned to RKC Waalwijk 
• Hato loaned to PEC Zwolle
• Vos loaned to Almere City
• Misehouy loaned to FC Emmen
• Kalokoh loaned to sc Heerenveen

 

 

Each option shall be played for 1 full season. The option that generates the highest total of all 5 players' combined attribute improvements wins. You may discuss the 3 options at length in this thread but do NOT reveal your answer. *PM me the answer!*
