Hi I'm working 14 hour days so simple few Season challenges is my thing currently

So here it is the Going out with a Bang! Lee Dong-Gook

so at 37 he's not going to set the world on fire, but what can I get out of him, a good all round team should produce enough chances for him to score

The Team

Jeonbuk it is, he's already a legend, can I improve that even more

So probably a quick 1-2 season challenge

I don't know much about the standard of the K league but he looks decent to me. 14 aerial has to be worth a few headed goals.

Update...

Well for a guy getting on a little in the football, he certainly likes to play nearly every game, he does also pick up a few injuries...

this one was a month...

I persuaded him to keep on playing helping me gain a few more goals in this challenge...

so another season on the books...

The league title was mine...

Not bad for my first season...

Then another injury, this time 2 months, would he come back from this...

The Korean FA cup was mine...

Final standings...

20 points clear of second place is a good effort...

So Lee Dong-gook, how did he finish...

Season tally was 23 goals which for a 37 year is a good run out, season 1 out of the way...

Season 1 = 23 goals

Nice end to the season with Manager of the year

Season 2...

first good news got another season out of him...

Another successful season taking the league with ease...

To add to that I clinched the Korean FA Cup again...

I must be noticed by now, a few offers keep coming in...

On a side note, because he hasn't the legs to maintain a single striker role, I have paired him up, and to my surprise he's had a partner that should also take a bow for his efforts...

Let myself down loosing to really weak teams...

So my man... 

38 years old, leadership being his only green left, but what about his contribution... 

A massive 30 goals in 44 games, I mean come on 44 games, that his is best season of his career in goals tally, previously 26 is his most, his role is good and his partnership simply clicked, his longest injury was 3 weeks this season, so all in all a very good season for a 38 year old striker...

Season 1 = 23

Season 2 = 30

Total = 53

what can he achieve now, he will be turning 39 soon, but as long as he can play, he will get chances...

Cheers guys, don't know how long I can keep him going, maybe eventually he will stop accepting to continue playing, but whilst he does still want to play I will try and get the most out of him...

53 goals in 77 games at that age can't be knocked at all! Especially as he's also contributed 12 more! 65 goals in 77?! What a man!

39 now, still got another season to see what I can do with him, naturally his abilities are deteriorating slowly, before long he will probably playing half games, but if he can run, he can play

A month out again, this not going to be a good season with these kind of delays...

So I've tried to delay the end again, and to my suprise he still wants to continue...

End of another season...

League title is mine again...

The Champions League is my downfall so far, again I reach the Quarters and loose to an aggregate score!!!

Final Standings...

A massive difference to second place, another easy season for us...

The Korean FA Cup Final is mine again...

So now 39 and another season under his belt, I've had 2 good season so far, but with age and injuries, could his tally continue...

This just can't be written, another 30 goals, does this guy get any worse, so here's another end of season, how much more can I do with him...

Season 1 = 23

Season 2 = 30

Season 3 = 30

Tally = 83

Final Update...

Thanks for those following and commenting, it's been an interesting 4 seasons trying to get the most out of a player that doesn't believe in giving up.

He reached the ripe age of 40, what could the season bring, will he stay injury free and continue to outscore his previous seasons...

A few more offers presented to me, obviously turned them all down...

Previos season awards...

Was a little surprised when starting the new season...

How does this work, I've won the league & FA Cup every season, ok missed the Champions League each time, but could do better!!!

Stats look ok to me so far?

What a start to the season, 2 months out is not how a wanted to start his last season...

But on his return, everything was back to full speed ahead, and remember he is 40, yes 40!!!

And he knows it, the praise is warranted, I believe I have got the best out of him so far...

The league title is ours again, his last season and he helps Jeonbuk clinch the title for the last time in his playing days...

That's it, I tried again to get him to sign another season, but he simply wouldn't budge, can only praise him for sticking at it this long...

What a shame, I just couldn't clinch the Champions League AGAIN, this time the Semi's, loosing again on aggregate!!!!

There it is, his last ever goal, 267 career goals, this was his last game he will ever wear in a competitive game...

And this is why, I couldn't get him fit enough for the final games...

We did clinch the Korean FA Cup again, a shame he couldn't be part of it...

Final League Standings, another impressive season...

So here he is, now 41 years old, as you can see his stats are still impressive for a man of his age, I reckon I could of used him for 1 more season, but take a bow Mr Dong-Gook...

A mention goes out to his new partnership, after selling Zongo, I brought in Mendes, and his efforts helped us win games and assist Dong-Gook...

So it's all about Lee Dong-Gook...

Just what he deserved, not only a proper farewell but a win in his honour...

Over he goes to the Coaching side, could't let him just leave the club for good, made a position available for him, a legend for ever!!!

His Final Goal Tally, a shame his injuries prevented a little more in his final season, 20 goals from 33 games at 40/41 is a good return, I'm sure everyone would want these kind of numbers if they are going to take on this challenge...

Season 1 = 23

Season 2 = 30

Season 3 = 30

Season 4 = 20

Total = 103 goals over the 4 seasons, what more could I have asked for...
