Career Rob’s Threesome: Jeremy Rogers Fabio - Cancelled

As some people may already know, I love a good threesome. And threesomes, or Triple Threats as others like to call them, are notoriously hard.

For this threesome to be achieved I need three good youngsters and I dare say I have gone for three of the finest around.

Morgan Rogers is one of my favourites in the game this season. Jetting in from Manchester he definitely fills me with hope.

Next up is Jeremy Doku. I’ve not used him before, but one of his previous owners have stated how good he becomes so he is more than welcome.

Last but not least is a young lad others have used that I’ve not experienced before: Fabio Silva. If he wasn’t a footballer he has a name well suited to a certain type of film star.

Innuendos aside, I’ve grabbed three of the best as I want to try and get a:

  • 1kc with Fabio;
  • 2 DTs with Fabio and each of the others;
  • A TT

I am using the tactic I used for the Liverpool Front Three challenge. This involves:

  • Rogers playing in the second line as a Treq;
  • Doku playing in the top line as a right-sided IF;
  • Silva playing as an AF in the top line, but in the second spot in from the left

I will post the full tactic at the end if we manage to achieve it.

Thank you for reading and I hope you all enjoy witnessing my threesome. Let’s hope it doesn’t get too messy!

Great choice of players Rob. Never use Morgan before, how’s he performing for you before?

Thanks. He’s been great. His natural role is shadow striker, but I prefer treq. As with many of the youngsters I can’t wait to see where they end up in real life.

If Messi was younger just think what the title could have been 🤣

Honestly as a City fan, I doubt he’ll thrive unless he leaves

Has Pep mentioned him much?

Some interesting choices, Rogers and Silva obviously won't be a problem, but Doku have terrible finishing in some of my saves this year, hopefully not in this one. Best of luck!

Thanks. You sort of figured he’d be good at cutting in. Fingers crossed!

Good luck - I have a feeling this will be a long one but hopefully the ending will be satisfying.

Thanks. Probably won’t be as long as some of your epics though!

Good luck @Rob, you been talking to @Scratch to see if you can outdo each other 🤣

Thanks. Haha, no, but we are in vaguely similar lines of work with software development so it may be bred in to us.

Good luck man you should be grand with those 3 no sweat

Thanks. Yeah they should deliver, but I’ve screwed things up before so I’ll never count my chickens 🐓  🤣

I can vouch for Doku from when I had him on last years game, brilliant player he was even as a left winger in my case.

Look forward to following. Good luck.

I had Rogers in my Augusta save and he turns into a machine so I’m sure you will do great.

Ta Mr Fox. The good ol’ days of the Augusta save; Vibe’s very own version of Lord of the Rings.

Season 1

To outline my transfer strategy:

  • Sell pretty much everyone and utilise the double transfer budget PSG gifts you to assemble two teams that I can rotate;
  • Three players will be on the bench to always come on for the front three lads when they tire;
  • Sell players when unhappy. I’ve noticed this year in the elite clubs the elite players get upset easily, as if SI have built in a ‘diva’ factor, so players will transfers in and out of the club a fair bit.

I toyed during the Liverpool Front Three save with the best way to manage game time. More minutes equates more goals, but does the quality of opposition and/or home games in those minutes matter? Assuming fairly fit players can play 160 minutes across two games in four days, is it better to play them for 90 minutes in a home game and then 70 minutes in an away game? Or should you factor the standard of the opposition in more?  Should you play your strongest team against harder opposition to gain progress in cups and get victories, or should you use them against easier teams to maximise goals? I’d be interested in folks’ opinions.

For the purposes of this save I’m playing them until they get to 80-85% conditioning each game and then subbing them to keep it nice and simple.

In this season they got 84 goals. They have improved quite a bit and got a lot nearer to the 100 goal mark than I was expecting, especially as I don’t think we will start to peak as a squad until around season six.

84/1,500

The game time debate is an interesting one and I’m not sure I have found the best way just yet.

Obviously early in the season they can play for longer and more often compared with late on when fatigue kicks in. This is when I tend to play them a lot to try and build up the goals early on. Then by November I find fatigue hits and form drops before a final burst of form from Feb/March onwards. What I’m never sure of is whether I over play them in the early part of the season which causes the loss in form or if I am right in trying to maximise goals at this point because fatigue and loss of form is inevitable.

As for playing time if I am after goals from certain players they start at any condition above 94% but then come off either at half time if they have had a great half or when they get to high 70% condition.
