Week 1 - Team Challenge

This week is a team challenge where you will all individually play the same challenge and then all your scores will be totalled up and the team with the most points wins and gets 1pt. A draw would see both teams get half a point each and your own personal score will go towards your standing on the Golden Mobile league table.

 

The VWC is all about teamwork and so is this challenge namely the team work between a front two and specifically the classic big man, little man pairing. The front two of a big target man who can hold the ball up and win flick on’s and get on the end of crosses paired with a small quick poacher was a staple of British football for years. It is now rarely seen even in the lower leagues but it can still be an effective tactic if used correctly.

In this challenge you are going to make your own big man, little man pairing with the big man charged with getting assists and the little man the goals. Both these players must be natural strikers and they both must play together up front in any of the 4 striker positions. Points will be awarded for big man assists and little man goals but points will also be taken away for every goal you big man gets and every assist your little man makes.

Here is the full low down on the rules to explain it all better.

 

Club Choice: You can manage any club in any league that is in the vanilla DB. That includes lower leagues as well.

Challenge Duration: This a full season challenge and goals and assists in all competitions count.

Transfers: You can only make 1 transfer into the club in this challenge and that is either your Big Man or your Little Man. One of these two must start at the club already with the other one being bought. No other transfers in are allowed but you can sell players.

Big Man Rules: This player must be a natural striker (light green in striker position) when you either buy him or you join the club and he must have a minimum of 14 aerial and 14 strength.

Little Man Rules: This player must be a natural striker (light green in striker position) when you either buy him or you join the club and he must have no more than 9 aerial.

Tactic Rules: You must play your Big Man and Little Man up front at all times but they can play as wide forwards if you want.

Database: You must use the official FMM database but you can choose if it’s the November or March versions.

No unlockables are allowed but you can have whatever coaching badge and reputation you wish.

No editing, reloading, holidaying or cheating in anyway.

Screenshots must be taken as proof of your score and sent to me via PM.

 

Points

You will get 2 points for every assist your Big Man gets.

You will get 2 points for every goal your Little Man get.

You will get -1 point for every goal your Big Man gets.

You will get -1 point for every assist your Little Man gets.

No because friendlies aren’t competitive games part of a competition. International goals/assists don’t count either.

Hey hey hey I found the one player in the entire game with 'looks for the pass rather than attempting to score' and he held his own in the top flight despite being 31 years old and his lifetime achievement so far was 7th in the Ekstraklasa. PPMs are good!

Finally got a chance to get the first week started and completed today, nice challenge, enjoyed it. Looking forward to seeing how we all got on 👍
