If a player score 6 goals in a match, will it be considered 2 hattricks??

Nope, only one hattrick per game, here is the rule

The three hat-tricks must be in separate games.

Vibe Premier League 2021, Week 8 Results

So all the results from the penultimate week are in and it’s time to reveal how you all got on. People could secure their playoff places this week, some were fighting to have a late run at the playoffs and others were simply needing a win to stay alive in the competition. Let’s have a look how everything panned out this week but here are the all important fixtures.

image.png.f856c5e5fa5a0334a4e0209c0f41f1ef.png

First things first I will say that when this challenge was set I expected some negative scores so it’s a credit to everyone that there wasn’t a single one. In fact after the first result came in belonging to @George Traistă I was questioning myself as to whether I had overestimated the difficulty of the challenge as he managed to pull off a great signing in Umar Sadiq who looks very good indeed especially for the Portuguese league.

image.jpeg.730dadb4eeebdc789a3f4c1e57365e6e.jpeg

Just take a look at that recent form in this week’s “screenshot of the week”. He proved far too strong for the league and had knocked out 3 hat-tricks by the end of November meaning George only ended up losing 11 points from goals conceded. Sadiq banged in 62 goals in the league in which he guided Familicao to the title and that leaves George with a very impressive total of 51. I knew instantly this was a terrific score and had every chance of being the best.

It’s certainly not what @Kanegan will want to see when opening up this thread as to keep his chances of finishing in the top 4 alive he realistically needed a win this week. He also went to Portugal but chose Maritimo instead. Kane signed Brayan Riascos as his main man for this challenge and to be fair to him he scored 43 goals in the league which is a very respectable number. He also achieved the 3 hat-tricks but they just came far too late in the season, April it was when the third one arrived and his side had conceded 39 goals in that period.

That means Kane finishes with a total of meaning George romps to victory in this one to keep his chances of qualifying for the playoffs well and truly alive but sadly for Kane his race has been run and he will just be playing for pride in the last week.

Onto a huge game now between 3rd and 4th in the league @Rich and @Ian. A win for either of these would see them with one foot in the playoffs and if the other results go their way then possibly even having a spot secured. Rich put in a nice display here with Familicao and Leonardo Campana. Like George his crucially managed to get the hat-tricks early which is what allows for any real type of scoring in this challenge, getting the third out of the way in early December for the loss of only 11 goals. Campana scored 49 goals for Rich in a title winning season giving him a total of 38 which would make life tricky for Ian to get something out of the game but he gave it a good go himself.

Ian is known as vibe’s defensive specialist and that really showed again this season with less than a goal a game conceded the entire season and it is a credit to that that despite the fact he didn’t get 3 hat-tricks until just a few games to go that his score was still very respectable. Dennis Srbeny was his striker and scored 36 goals for him in the league but 21 goals were conceded before he achieved the hat-tricks reducing his total to 15.

So Rich achieves the higher score but that doesn’t necessarily mean victory... but in this case it does as there was one score splitting these two meaning Rich takes the win and congratulations go to him as with a week to go he has mathematically secured his place in the top 4. Ian will have to go to the final week to try and secure his place although it is still in his own hands which is all you can ask for really.

Talking of men that have secured their place in the playoffs, that brings me onto... @Woody :O Long-time viewers of vibe are partying long into the night as you read that right the curse has finally been lifted and we will be seeing the Potteries Pele battling it out for the title in the final stage. He was the score that split Rich and Ian scoring a total of 36. He achieved this in Holland as ADO Den Haag and was got the second highest amount of goals from his striker with 55 being scored by Borys Tashchy. The hat-tricks came quite early as well in December which was just as well since he conceded 49 during the whole season but only 19 of them actually meant anything.

Unfortunately though @smoggy90’s nightmare run of form shows no sign of dissipating. Like Rich he used Leonardo Campana who scored more than a goal per game in the league, 38 from 34 to be precise but what killed Smog this week was not achieving 3 hat-tricks. He was stuck on 2 meaning his total was just striker goals minus goals conceded and with that formula he did well to keep his total out of the negative numbers ending with 5. Crucially that wasn’t the lowest score of the week though and despite the fact Smog now needs a miracle to qualify he still has a chance which he wouldn’t have done at all if he had conceded 2 more goals.

Someone has to be the lowest scorer every week and this week it was @JamesVilla by just a mere point. So fine margins at this stage of the season but he also couldn’t muster the hat-trick of hat-tricks and despite having an absolutely outstanding defence with Familicao only conceding 24 throughout the whole season Haji Wright just wasn’t prolific enough to get him out of trouble. He scored 27 giving Villa an overall total of which turned out to be the lowest. Villa can still qualify but he will need a win in the last week, preferably a bonus point win and some help from elsewhere.

One more result to come and that comes from @broodje kip. His season has been very impressive with almost every result being extremely solid without setting the world alight (apart from last week) and this week just further supports that. He didn’t get the 3 hat-tricks but also had a watertight defence only conceding 24 and the 34 goals from his striker Luiz Phellype gave him a score of 10 which was enough to get the job done and hold onto top spot.

Broodje’s consistency throughout the season has seen him remain unbeaten and now he has been rewarded with a place in the playoffs.

Final Scores

  • George Traista - 51
  • Rich - 38
  • Woody - 36
  • Ian - 15
  • broodje kip - 10
  • smoggy90 - 5
  • Kanegan - 4
  • JamesVilla - 3

Results, Week 8

@Rich 3-2 @Ian

@Woody 2-1 @smoggy90

@JamesVilla 0-1 @broodje kip

@George Traistă 3-0 @Kanegan

Here’s how the table looks going into the final week.

image.thumb.png.ca5cc6d2410c93aeb02248010f9b7b98.png

Well done to Broodje, Woody and Rich who have all qualified for the playoffs and will just be battling for whether they get straight through to the final or the semi in the final week. If things stay as they are then Broodje would qualify automatically for the final with Woody starting at the semi final phase.

It will be a straight shootout between Ian and George in the final week which is something to get excited about. George has really pulled a rabbit out of the hat these last two weeks as he aims to pull off the great escape by coming from the bottom to qualify but Ian will be determined to hold off that charge.

Unfortunately Kane now cannot make it and it looks unlikely for Smog and Villa as well but not impossible. All they can do is win their matches, Smog will need a bonus point as well and in all likelihood so will Villa and hope that Ian and George draw to have any chance.

Here are the fixtures for the final week.

image.png.708dbdf2e6d66ee55ccd7011b0dd5b16.png

Broodje v Rich as well 👀 Any one of the top 3 could still take that automatic place in the final. It promises to be really exciting and we will be sure to come up with a challenge worthy of it.

Brilliantly written that was Sam, I felt nervy reading it 😂

What a week that was, well done everyone, some great scores and great games!

That was my favourite challenge yet, never managed in Portugal before, but it was a very weak league i thought, won the league by 11 points I think it was. Can we have them kind of challenges more often 😁

OMG! I hope the curse in over for good, with two consecutive wins!

Next week will be a really tight one. @Rich and @broodje kip will fight for the first place and me and @Ian for whoever will get to the playoff.

@Ianyou can try to replicate your score from our last match? 🤣

I can already hear the audible sighs of relief as it is revealed that Black Cat Betting is bringing you the preview for the final week instead of Fox Bet. I believe there is trouble going on behind the scenes at FoxBet but that doesn’t alter the fact that they have always been vibe’s second best bookie.

Rumours are afloat that the challenge from the final week will be a “classic” from the vaults and one that will provide an exciting conclusion to the league phase. Here are our predictions.

@Woody v @JamesVilla

Woody might have already qualified for the playoffs but he still has everything to play for in this final match as he aims to qualify directly for the grand final. His motivation will be high but he is coming up against Villa who knows all he can do is win and then hope other results go his way. We expect him to put up a good score this week but now that the curse on Woody has been lifted we expect the shackles to be loosened and a strong display and victory to end the regular season on a high. This would be enough to top the league if Broodje and Rich draw their match.

Prediction - Woody

@Ian v @George Traistă

What a run of form George has embarked on in the last two weeks after looking dead and buried to still having qualification in his own hands going into the final game. Ian had won his previous two himself but took a loss at the hands of Rich last week in a game that could have seen him qualify. It’s a tough one to call as with this challenge you would probably say form goes completely out of the window but we are can’t ignore George’s turnaround and are predicting him to complete the great escape. All eyes will be on this one though as we know if Ian brings his best game he will almost certainly get the job done.

Prediction - Tight one but George to snatch the win and the final qualifying space.

@Kanegan v @smoggy90

It’s looking like this one will be a bit of a dead rubber encounter with Kane not being able to qualify and Smog requiring an absolute miracle. Neither have a win in their last 3 games and I hope I’m wrong but this one has a 0-0 written all over it. Which of course means the game will not finish 0-0 as every time that phrase is used it never actually comes true and based on absolutely nothing at all and complete guesswork we are tipping Kane to be the one to sneak a win to end his campaign on a high although I think both will be disappointed how their seasons have turned out in the end.

Prediction - Kane to nick it.

@broodje kip v @Rich

A crunch clash and one that we are lucky to see fall in week 9 as the winner of this one could well be the manager who finishes atop the league come the end of the season. Both of these have been very hard to beat and in Broodje’s case nobody has beaten him so far. Will this continue though? We can see it happening as both will put in their usual solid displays and there probably won’t be much between them.

In the end I think it will be a mixed week for Broodje as his unbeaten run will remain intact but it will be a draw and Woody will snatch the automatic place in the final by winning his game. Rich will secure 3rd place but will have to settle for a spot in the quarters.

Prediction - Draw

If our predictions are correct (they won’t be) then this is how the final table would look.

  1. Woody
  2. Broodje
  3. Rich
  4. George
  5. Ian
  6. Kane
  7. Villa
  8. Smog

Odds

We are not offering game by game odds for personal reasons* but here are some specials.

  • broodje to finish 1st - 10/11
  • Woody to finish 1st - 5/2
  • Rich to finish 1st - 5/1
  • Ian to get the final playoff place - 4/6
  • George to get the final playoff place - 6/5

We have reached the final week of the league section and it’s all to play for with a place straight into the final at stake and one more playoff position to be decided. Here is a reminder of the fixtures.

1624474495_fixtureswk9.thumb.png.d8002b5d577513917c3351b05054089d.png

This week I am dipping into the Vibe Archives to revive and tinker with a challenge that was used in the 11th Challenge Cup and became known as The @Taff Killer. The game has changed a bit since 2017 so there are a few changes to the original challenge and I have tweaked some bits as well.

Club Choice

As with the original challenge you will be managing in Milan but you don’t have the choice this time as it will be AC Milan that you all take charge of.

image.png.4204817ff0e571f417dd3020a9c1a3a5.png

The Setup

  • You can have any manager reputation you wish but you cannot have any coaching badge and you cannot earn a coaching badge during the save either.
  • You must sack all your coaches and physios when you take over at the club but you may keep the scouts.
  • You must set every player in the squad to light training and that must stay like that for the entirety of the save.

Player Choice

  • You can only use players that have 10 or less for both there Pace and Stamina attributes. That is both goalkeepers and outfield players.
  • You can use players already at the club if they have 10 or less on those two attributes. If a player has above 10 on either attribute at the start of the save he must be sold/demoted and never used during the save E.G. you cannot put a player in the reserves and then promote him when he meets the criteria and you cannot sell a player only to buy him back again.
  • Every other player must be sold or demoted straight away and cannot play at any stage of the save.
  • In January you must sell any players who’s Pace and Stamina have gone above 10 and they can be replaced with players with 10 or less in those attributes but you cannot promote former 1st teamers back into the 1st team squad or buy players you previously sold.
  • Your first team squad can be a maximum size of 25 players.

Points

  • +/- Goal difference in all competitions.
  • You will get 1 point per game for your longest unbeaten run in all competitions during the season. So if you go 10 games unbeaten you get 10pts.
  • Bonus Points: If your squad has an average age of 30 or more then that average age is rounded down to the first whole number and then halved. So if your average age is 30.5 then it becomes 30 and you get 15 bonus points.
  • Sacked: If you are sacked at any point you only get your goal difference as your points total.

Clarifications and Rules.

  • Manage AC Milan and all competitive games count towards your score.
  • Any manager reputation is allowed but you must not have a coaching badge at any point.
  • All coaches and physios must be sacked at the start of the save and not replaced but you can keep your scouts.
  • All players must be set on light training and stay on that all season.
  • Maximum of 25 players in the squad including GK’s.
  • Loans, free transfers and P/X are all allowed.
  • No player in the first team squad can have more than 10 for there Pace and Stamina attributes at any stage of the season.
  • Once a player is sold/demoted he cannot be promoted or bought back into the first team.
  • In January any players which has gone above 10 in those attributes can be sold and be replaced with players that have 10 or less for those attributes.
  • Standard rules of no reloading, editing or cheating in anyway apply.
  • November database only.
  • If asked you must produce the save file and failure to do so will lead to disqualification from the event.

Oh I just got a question, let’s say once January ends and one of my player reached 11+ on either pace/stamina, do I have to demote him?

@broodje kip

Slight typo you cannot keep any player in the first team if there pace or stamina goes above 10 at any point of the season. What I meant to say was they can be sold and replaced in January.

Ok. Nice challenge.

So ive bought a player who meets the criteria byvthe 1st game. 2 weeks later his pace goes up to 11. I can no longer play him. Is that right?

Correct but remember you have no coaches and light training so potentially there attributes won’t grow that quickly.
